This place saved my life. I was there on a short 7 day stay. I saw my psychiatrist multiple times, I had multiple daily group sessions, books provided, multiple tv rooms, puzzles, coloring pages, cards, board games, snacks, drinks, meal ordering (for those not allowed off unit), cafeteria, outdoor activities time. The staff were always friendly. They had plenty of phones for patients to make calls. It was clean. I always felt safe. The bedrooms had their own bathrooms and were 2 people to a room. They also set me up with further help after leaving. I cannot say enough good things about this place. read more

My sister was forcibly sent to inpatient treatment here in November of 2023. Her treatment was disgustingly inhumane. She was sent here by a woman who did not know her and was forced to stay longer because of our mother's testimony to a therapist which my sister was supposed to see each day but had not until this meeting. My sister was on her period when she got in and was not given any sanitary items. My sister was sedated every day as she was having an ongoing panic attack. My sister did not have a plan to commit suicide when she entered. The moment she left she made a plan. The next year and a half she attempted to rebuild herself but was unable to get out of my mother's house. This February she ended her life. My sister did not feel safe attempting to access any forms of treatment due to the heinous way in which she was treated by this facility, the woman who petitioned her, and her own mother. She was treated like a pawn. A pawn for empathy. A pawn for money. Our current mental health services do nothing to alleviate the root suffering and are barely even a band aid upon the consequences of said suffering. read more

After being released from the hospital in the Linden Oaks hospital, I went to this outpatient treatment program and I found it to be the best thing I did in my life I did it for about six weeks. I got to the point where I wanted to keep going and they told me I have accomplished everything they are wonderful it's group sessions that you need and you meet people and when you first come in there he's got all these people that are there for you because they've been there for a while and when you're about to leave you become the leader of the group and you've got so much to give read more

Terrible customer service, health care providers are terrible, no empathy, no compassion, the appointments basically consist of asking the patient if they are happy with current dose of antidepressants or want to up your dose and you are done. Pretty rude front office staff especially at Woodridge location. Health care providers especially Matt De La Torre is the worst. Go to this location only if you want your family member numbed with medicines and want no solutions or real long term treatment. read more

My child was there almost a year ago. The doctor who was overseeing the program my child was in was unreliable for arriving on time for morning meetings. I was already late for my own job to accommodate her meeting times and was left sitting there because she was late to work. There is no family support in this program. Your child gets the therapy and you get one "family meeting". They wanted to give my child a diagnosis before discharge and I didn't agree with the diagnosis given. Additional therapy after this program revealed an improper diagnosis by Linden Oaks in their haste to diagnose her before discharge. When I spoke with the doctor (who also teaches at the College of Dupage), she seemed very kind. She was basically a snake. She didn't know our family and didn't bother to talk to me about specific incidents she was questioned on by child services. Yay for vengeful teenagers who like to blow things out of proportion, mainly because the child is spoiled beyond belief and was not in touch with "reality". I feel that if there was a concern about anything my child was saying about our home, we should have been confronted or counseled with her during the month she was in their care. But no, they just watched this child hug me and tell me she loved me every morning for a month while I dropped her off and then I rushed (late) to work. I also had to leave work early to accommodate the program schedule. I would pick her up after program and get her to school, then rush home so I could finish working. I'm glad there is a thing called FMLA to protect my job. I think the amount of effort and dedication I put forth is GREAT parenting. It shows the dedication I had trying to get my kid help. That means nothing apparently. I wasn't even deserving of a meeting to discuss things that my child was saying about her home life so we could get on the same page. This program was completely useless and I would never recommend it it, mainly because of the lack of family involvement and the fact that exaggerated information was relayed to investigative authorities. Information that was grossly exaggerated by my child and she will willingly admit it now that she is feeling better with the additional interventions we got her after this hapless program. She was not well at that time and she wanted attention, and was trying to hurt us by over dramatizing her life. The doctor at Linden Oaks took it at face value instead of talking to a mentally healthy parent to get the other side of the story. read more

This outpatient group is fantastic from the incredible doctors to the just as incredible BH staff. Matt and Sandra are fantastic counselors with sandra being a LCPC with a knack to making you feel good about yourself. Matt leads group therapy and does a fantastic job at keeping people's attention throughout the session. Dr. Cutler is a fantastic doctor. He is probably one of the only ones who is willing to listen to the patient, moves slowly let reassuringly with med pace, and just cares a lot about the patient in general their well being overall. I feel in great hands with Dr. Cutler. (I cannot speak for these doctors but I've heard Dr.'s Lott and Pellegrini are also fantastic too.) Sometimes the staff can be a bit pushy but hey we're here to get better mental health wise they deal with a lot of crazy people. lol. Scheduling is an ease and I would highly recommend this psychiatric practice to anyone seeking assistance as well as their outpatient services. read more

I wish I could give this zero stars. I had a truly terrible and traumatizing experience here. They have deleted my negative reviews 3 times now and I'm frankly exhausted from their lack of care or concern that their facility is full of crooks. Just do yourself a favor and don't make your loved ones go here. They barely even allow for visiting hours, my parents had to threaten a lawsuit for them to even be able to see me DURING those visiting hours. It's insane and they were abusive. read more

Absolute waste of time. Psychological Assessment was basically a mill to get people with health insurance into 4-hour per day group therapy sessions. Well, I have a job. Do you see the conflict? Next, I went to an individual doctor for medication management. She treated me like a child. Her attitude was Orwellian: "We know what's best for you." She wrote me a prescription and told me to come back in a month. When that medication made me sick, I went to my family doctor and she said the dose was way too high. It is depraved when a center that is supposed to help people looks at patients as $$$$$$$$. read more

Do not send your babies here to be brainwashed. Instead of caring for each patient, our children are grouped together with other troubled and non functioning kids. They find a new world of made up ideologies and a world of accepted misery. Oh, and you get to pay for this too. They will not be able to tell you what insurance can pay for and what "extra's" you will be charged. You will have to happily just wait and see. Don't believe that they will help them with their missed school work or that they will help you find care after the program. Both of these did not happen and we were left to our own defenses. Put extra money on the side for tutoring and extra care after the program. They will leave with new and improved issues as they learn from their new, troubled friends. And they WILL find ways to communicate outside of the group and nothing will be done. I unfortunately do not have alternatives (which is why they are able to line their pockets and get away with this) but want parents to be prepared for what WILL happen at this facility. I can guarantee your child will not leave feeling inspired or hopeful and of course they will want to medicate your child. Your child will also DO everything possible to stay out of school after the program because it is quite likely they will be more anxious rather than less. Be prepared. It has taken me almost a year to write this review. I have had time to look back and really see what awful treatments they have for our hurting, defenseless children. I wish I was not so trusting. I was a patient in the Adult Anxiety IOP program, and to keep it simple, i've broken my review up into a list of both good and bad experiences. Positive Experiences: *met dozens of individuals who could relate to what i was going through *worked with therapists that were both knowledgeable and compassionate *learned in a group setting that allowed for more opinions and lessons than the therapists themselves could give *learned roughly 100 tools to help cope with my anxiety *understood more about why certain coping mechanisms and tendencies are healthy and why others are not *was always respected, listened to, and cared for Negative Experiences: *the group therapy is essentially the only real therapy that you get. I was told I would have an individual therapist, and although that is technically true, the 1 on 1 time with that individual is both limited and highly structured, which makes it more of an informal meeting than a therapy session *the group consists of patients with all different severities and types of anxiety disorders, which is fine. however, the treatment and tools taught was the same for everyone. The treatments are not personalized and are rather textbook, making it worthwhile for the majority, but not everyone *The entire program is based off of "ACT" therapy. This is a great type of CBTherapy, but it is presented in a way that it is the ONLY way of treating anxiety and the pain it causes. I found some of this info super helpful, but other aspects of it were simply common sense and borderline useless. *Expensive beyond belief Overall, I recommend the program, but DO NOT think it will magically cure you. The program is more of a "this is how you deal with what you're experiencing" approach than a "let's minimize what you're experiencing" approach. This is somewhat good, but the fact of the matter is that some people, myself included, are so anxious and hopeless that anxiety needs to be reduced before any of what the program teaches you becomes useful. read more

Linden oaks forced me into a mostly addiction based program when i went there for my depression. I told them my substance abuse was a coping mechanism, not an addiction. Yet they made me sit through addiction seminar after seminar. I clearly wasnt dealing with the same issues as my peers there. And in my 3 days there i didnt see a single doctor or therapist individually to discuss my issues and medications . I wanted to connect with people in group therapy but discussion was boring and monopolized by extroverts. When i told them i wanted to quit they tried to guilt me into coming in. Now that ive made the move over to the outpatient program at central dupage hospital i am getting the care and education ive needed. As well as therapists who seem to genuinely care about me. I finally have hope for a future without severe depression and anxiety. No thanks to linden oaks. read more

Warning!! Do not go to Linden Oaks in St Charles they are oppressive manipulating liars that thrive on drama and abuse the authority they have. It is shocking that in this day and age that a person of sound mind can be forced to go into a hospital for the mentally ill against their will; and that of their families. They can ruin careers and your future! I was not the patient. I was the family member they sequestered for 90 minutes while they badgered me and tried to convince me that my family member had all sorts of problems. They made many unsubstantiated claims. They lie, twist and sensationalize everything. They stated my family member needed inpatient treatment; in other words, force them into a mental hospital. I would not agree. The things they were bombarding me with were completely false; it was ridiculous!! I tried to explain the things they claimed were not accurate and aggregated; they did not want to hear the truth. They made up their minds already; truth did not matter. They just kept reiterating the same crap over and over. Unknown to me at the time was that they signed a petition to force inpatient treatment hours before I ever showed up. They were just trying to persuade me "get on board" with their outrageous skewed views. Days later after they forced my family member into the mental ward I got copies of the medical records from Linden Oaks. To my surprise, they had falsely written down inaccurate accounts of what I said to them during the 90-minute interrogation. They took my words out of context, edited and changed them to have a completely different meaning than the original conversation. If they did that to me how do they alter what patients say?? After a baseless inexcusable 72 hour hold my loved one was released. They found no psychosis...what a surprise. You took oaths to do no harm clearly you lied about that too! Beware... if this happened to us, it can happen to anyone that walks in there. read more

Avoid this arrogant crew. My doctor is fine, nothing great, but the service staff - jeesh! Why does a good doctor go to a good school for 8+ years then set up a practice with really lousy customer service? Medical offices need to realize that they are selling a service and customer service is part of that process. I'm totally NOT crazy {pun intended!} about the snotty, sluggish, one-sided customer service policies and staff here at Linden Oaks. I've had some minor issues with their scheduling and customer service staff in the past, but what set me off for the final time is their $50 appointment change fee and the discourteous way they somehow enjoy throwing in your face. I get the idea that this scheduling team feels abused by customers changing appointments and this is their great redemption moment. They delight in billing a customer ten times their hourly wage for a simple reschedule and want to savor every moment. And if you get mad about it, they feel even better about enforcing the policy. Doesn't that frost you? I can see if you make a habit out of it, they need to charge you - got it - I run a business based on appointments too. But after being on-time for 12 appointments I needed to reschedule due to a legit medical reason and they will not allow you to reschedule unless you cough up $50. No kidding. you cannot make a new appointment until it settled. If you complain, they will gleefully recite the rule in their signed patient agreement form and joyfully remind you that you DID sign this agreement. And when you tell them you aint payin'...they get even more snippy as they are forced to ask the Doc to waive the fee. After a day or two, the fee is waived but there's no call back to reschedule, nope. They will wait until you go to refill the Rx the Doc has assigned and deny the refill until you reschedule. Classy move huh? Finally, I asked about how to get the fee removed from my account permanently and then the "we don't answer questions we do not like" process. No kidding. I asked numerous times, in writing even, and never once did they even address it. A patient asking to change a policy about money - are you nuts!! LOL!! When I asked for a customer service manager, they are always in a meeting and you cannot have their VM. You can leave a message and they say they will call you back. Right. I asked to speak to my Doctor - nope. Email my Doctor? Nope. Finally, I called the president of the company, nicely left a VM and they got right back to me and felt like they wanted to solve the problem. That was cool, but too late. I've asked them to pack up my records for me to pickup, waive the records pick up fee {ha!} and I'll be on my way. BTW, only after 11 messages back and fore did anyone on their team ever apologize for the trouble. Wow. If my customer service staff did half of this to one of my paying, 3 year customers.. they would be looking for a new job today. Bottom line.. Hey Dr. Lisa Pelligrini at Linden Oaks.. You're fired because you have a pathetic customer service team and you failed to help solve their problems when I asked. See ya! WC read more
