One suggestion came up that I should try calling Schwab to see if they offer the service, and they do!! Called ahead and Cooper told me that both persons manning the desk had the ability to notarize documents, no appointments needed. Later in the day, I made my way over to Schwab. The SouthPark location is super convenient, they have their own, dedicated parking lot that was easy to get in and out of. The counter is shared with TD Ameritrade, so once you figured out which side of the main desk to go to, it was a breeze. Cooper looked like he just came back from lunch, or a break but he remembered my voice from my phone query and we got to notarizing (with valid ID and documentation of course!) There was no line and the whole thing probably took 15min (I spent more time driving to the location I bet). Of course, I was only notarizing two documents (total of 6-8 pages of information for my professional engineering license... so I'm sure you need to allot for more time if you have a lot of paperwork to go through and review). It also helps that I am a Schwab account holder. Overall it was a great experience, and I need to think of them more often when I need to do "official business things" or in need of a notary.

I recently received a large inheritance. I was given options with yearly limits of $5,500 and $18,500. Um, yeah. THANKS! I was then given a card with an 800 number to call for more assistance. I kid you not. They have an office and when you go in, they tell you to call someone on the phone at some call center. As long as you don't use auto bill pay or online bill pay, Allegacy is fine. BUT just know that…read moremaking payments is not very easy nor are payments recorded in a timely manner. Even mailing them a paper check takes 10-14 days to hit their books. Their customer service associates however are great to work with. Which is great, because you're probably going to spend a lot of time talking to them. Allegacy, in this day and age, how can you not have auto pay or even a decent app to pay online?

Their email support is not responsive and the chat support is actually broken. They promised tax forms sometime in February just like they do every year, and today is March 1, which was the reason for my call. It's reasonable to say a minor delay could be excusable, but when there are brokerages who have a human answer the phone nearly immediately, there's no need to deal with a business who disrespects your time like this. I'll be switching to Fidelity when the time is right. UPDATE: days later and still no email response from customer service, not even a "let's schedule a call since we can't discuss sensitive information over email" type of response.

They literally sold $75 worth of stock without my knowledge and pocked the money. Yeah, sure. $75.
