While the post-Sandy repairs continue, the place is actually starting to look like someone gives a damn. However, getting the super is still an exercise in patience, but when he or his team shows up, they fix shit and shit seems to stay fixed. The stealers of boxes left in mailrooms still live in the building, so if you're dumb enough to not have your packages rerouted to a UPS/FedEx pickup or to have USPS leave the package at your door instead of in the mailroom, then you're rich enough to replace the shit that WILL be stolen. Say, a pair of headphones. Or filter replacements. Or a corset. And don't expect help to get it back - it's your dumb-ass fault for not rerouting your package, as I've learned. Anyway, life is better than it was and at least repairs are being made more quickly. No mice so far, and since I spray the shit out of my floorboards with pesticides, no roaches, either.

Avoid renting or staying at this building at all costs!!!…read more You won't get back your security deposit in full amount!!! I regret moving in there without doing my due diligence of researching about the other tenants reviews and experiences! I just moved out a month ago and stayed there only a year because of many bad experiences with management! 1. Staffs are not professional including the executive manager. 2. The handyman has no manner or professionalism at all. He would bang on your door instead of ringing the bell. He won't let you talk but gave you choices this or that instead of trying to understand the situation and the tenant's availability. He is a handyman but he would act lIke's the owner. His behaviors are very rude and disrespectful. He needs to understand that he is getting paid with with the tenant's rent money. Tenants are his indirect bosses! 3. Even if you reported and complained to building manager, resident manager and executive, they won't even flinched and give a shit about it. Why? You're already tied to the lease and they won't let you break the lease, you still have to pay rent until lease is up. So they have nothing to lose. 4. I had issue with the apartment itself and they can't and won't help you with any issue. Said, It would be your responsibility. It's their building and they are the ones who's managing it and understand it's structures. If any issue with apartment, you'll be on your own

What was so surprising is the amount of so many bad reviews about management and staff in other luxury buildings. I have never thought about that because in four years here in The Alexander we have never experienced anything negative!!! It is why I decided to write this review as they deserve good recognition for a great building which enhances our quality of life. The Alexander building is in great location surrounded with various type of restaurants and groceries. In its complex has Aldi, Costco, IKEA, At home, TJ-Max, Marshall's, Burlington, Bed Bath and Beyond and lots of others. It has s huge parking garage which offer residents a monthly discount. All that including s building is perfectly clean and Well managed. All of the staff Are more than friendly and helpful. They would 'jump' to help on any smallest demand. During this 4 years we had few small not important issues that were solved immediately when I reported them. It happened once I met one of the staff members in the elevator and saw A/C filters which he was changing in the apartments. I asked him if he can change them in my apartment and he came immediately. They clean and wash carpets in halls regularly, recycling room is perfectly clean all the time, gym and community rooms too. We have on the 7th floor outside deck with showers and sunning chairs and BBQ area. All that is in perfect shape and clean. There is also a nice library and children's room with toys for kids. It is more than home to us. What is also very important we feel safe here. When I talk with other tenants they share the same opinion. After 3 months of researching other luxury buildings in Manhattan and Brooklyn this one stays No1. Many thanks to our resident building manager Danny F and his staff for truley making the Alexander at Rego Park our home! I highly recommended this luxury building to everyone. Lilana

While…read moreon the roof, they whistled at her to get her attention then made a gesture for her to call them. It took management several days to even acknowledge the situation, only after had I written two emails to the service inbox I mentioned below, called HQ, spoke with the project manager twice did the property manager even call me. If I had not escalated he would not reach out yet they told me they told me they take the situation of harassment "seriously." I have been living at the Drake for the past 7 years, before it was called Saxon Hall. The current management, Silverstone Property Group, has been the worst owners I have experience during my time here. I have moved even within building after their refreshing of some apartments. Not only have rents gone up, but they have gutted apartments and changed studios to 1BR, 1BR to 2BR etc. in order to quickly increase rents. The construction they have done on these refurbished apartments is sub par at best. There is a crack in the middle of my apartment, the caulking is terrible, the trim on the cabinets were glued on... basically every corner they could cut it seems like they did so. On top of this they have been doing this construction for over a year. I resigned the lease for a new apartment under the guise that it was cheaper and the construction would be done soon. A year later and it still goes on every day. Not only this, the construction workers take up an entire elevator bay during the day (there are only two per wing) thus creating a bottleneck for residents at the elevator. In addition, the construction workers will often use both elevator bays instead of utilizing the one that is being assigned to their usage. There have been times that I have waited for 5 minutes to go and come from work in the elevator bays to find out that the elevator is full due to the bottlenecks that it creates. This is absolutely absurd for a property branded as "luxury". When you email the property manager, there is often no response to the hard questions and complaints of the construction. However, there is an immediate response to things that are non-complaints and just comments, so they do receive these emails. However, management just cowers under their desk when residents have issues. I enjoy the neighborhood and where I have been living for the past few years, and I have dealt with the rent increases, but this has been enough to have me look elsewhere after my lease runs up. This is not hyperbolic, but the current management is the worst. Lack of transparency, lack of response, cutting corners on construction, lying to residents about construction length. I cannot reiterate this enough that this is definitely not a "luxury" building. I feel bad for the building staff that has been here for so long, they are wonderful but the current management (Silverstone Property Group) is absolutely atrocious.

My husband and I have been active cooperative tenants in this apartment building for 4 years without any landlord complaints or any issues. We pay our rent on time and don't give anyone any issues. I'm currently 40 weeks pregnant, there was an apartment listed on the internet in the same building but bigger on another floor. We acted quickly called the realtor checked out the apartment and submitted all our paperwork we even had a letter of recommendation from our current landlord in the same building. Both landlords approved us and all we needed was approval from the building manager. The building manager spoke to both landlords and told them he wouldn't approve us because I wrote a yelp review on him a year ago based on another horrible experience I had with him on another occasion. We tried to paint our apartment a year ago because it was filthy and he gave me hell for it because he only wanted me to use his contractors so we never painted it and I reviewed my experience that I had with him and then deleted it a month later. Because of that he wouldn't approve us. There was a separate occasion where I was being harassed by one of the security guards in the building and told my husband. Which I still have text messages of the harassment on my phone. My husband called the management office only to be waved off and disrespected by the building manager as usual, they told him to write a hand written letter, and he did so following all the requests made by the management office. We've been very patient and civil with everything we've been going through with the building manager. This morning my Husband went to the building management to speak to them about trying to get approved for the apartment to be disrespected once again, Mr. Chandra Jain waved off my husband telling him he's busy and he can't speak now said to leave his number on a piece of paper and he will get back to him later, acting extremely unprofessional. My husband walked away, after not being contacted at the end of the day my husband proceeded to go back because we needed to know if we should proceed with our move or not. As my husband returned to the management office Mr. Chandra Jain got extremely loud and volatile with him slamming the table with the piece of paper with his number on it saying "I told you I will get back to you at the end of the day" throwing the piece of paper at him. My husband replied saying it is the end of the day you have not gotten back to me please give us an answer, he yelled at my husband saying "YOU WILL NEVER BE APPROVED IN THIS LIFETIME". So after trying several times to speak to him cordially he threatened my husband to call the police on him for "harassing him" without any reasoning and valid terms he's discriminating against us and causing me horrible emotional distress for no reason at 40 weeks pregnant. This is what we've been dealing with, with this building manager. He's a horrible person and has no way of kicking us out of the building because we're not violating any laws and his only way to hurt us is by denying us approval into the apartment we want upstairs. It makes no sense to me because we're still living in the building. This calls for a lawsuit, I've never dealt with such disrespect in my life especially in my current state.
