What was once marketed as a "luxury community" is now a construction zone riddled with safety issues. The building shows visible structural cracks inside the walls and ceilings, and residents have been left to deal with the fallout while management and ownership pretend it's all fine. The ongoing construction has caused vibrations, dust, and damage throughout the building. Health and safety violations are being overlooked, and there's zero transparency from management about the impact of this work on the building's stability. Residents who report problems get brushed off or ignored. For the amount of rent charged here, this is completely unacceptable. Parker Towers needs an independent structural inspection and accountability from ownership (Blackstone) before something worse happens. Until then, I strongly advise anyone considering moving in: don't. The cracks aren't just in the walls -- they're in the way this place is being run.

I spent about one night collecting all the apartments I wanted to view, The second was a rent stabilized unit listed by Peter Ashe. Eyal got back to us, on the same day and made sure we fit all the categories for the building. He made an appointment for the upcoming weekend. We spent our first day, checking out tiny places with even shitter realtors. Condescending, lazy, and late. The classic combo for many NYC realtors. It was demoralising. The next day, we met Eyal for house warming. He showed up on time, knew the answers to all our questions, and had more than one unit available. He walked us through all available units and explained the pro/cons. I was worried about timing and he was straight up about what was possible. By the time my partner and I left the building, we knew we wanted to move forward. We got the ball rolling the very next day. Eyal processed our application quickly, helping us gather the materials in the most organised manner. He even filled out our city application himself. It was wild. He was super responsive and because he was so experienced, we got approved a week earlier than expected. It was a relief for us! Eyal helped us get the keys a few days earlier, which was a godsend since our prior landlords were being huge assholes about the move out date. Everything went so smoothly. When we got our lease, we got together and Eyal walked us through every part of the lease and since he had worked with the building for nearly a decade, he was well informed about the landlords and super. Be careful about purchasing in this building. I found out through another shareholder that this…read morebuilding and its board is notorious for illegally denying sales for prices they deem not high enough. IE: if you're looking to buy a unit that's out of date, or needs a bit of love, and you offer accordingly, the board will deny you. The board WILL expect 1bd/1ba fully renovated to go for the same price as a 1bd/1ba that needs a gut reno. After chatting with friends in the building, it doesn't sound like the board has a great relationship with its shareholders, and there's an unfortunate disconnect. There are so many fantastic buildings in the area. Avoid this one if you want to stay sane.

Smelly Roach Palace…read more Prior to moving in we were repeatedly told how lucky we were to move into such a prestigious building. After moving in, it's clear that prestige died out in the middle of sometime last century and nobody got the memo. I've never had roaches in my life. Upon moving in, we have roaches galore. We're constantly finding them in all rooms of our apartment and all over the hallways of the building. It's absolutely revolting. They're everywhere! The basement absolutely reeks of garbage all summer long, every day I want to exit through the side instead of the front, I have to hold my nose as I walk to the door it's so bad. The water is constantly being shut off due to building plumbing issues. There was recently an incident where the building didn't have water for 3 straight days, we had to rent a hotel room to use the bathroom and shower. No updates were given on the progress the entire time, just that they were "working on it". The building staircases and hallways are poorly labeled, so when you have food delivered or have company come over, it's really a 50/50 shot on whether or not they're actually able to find your apartment. The building doesn't have any modern amenities like a key fob to enter the side doors or washers and dryers linked to an app so you can see what is/isn't in use. Most buildings I've lived in the past 15 years have had these technologies. I feel deeply misled by the realtors and by the board. This building has been greatly misrepresented and I regret purchasing a co-op here. I cannot wait to leave.
