But- parking... Brentwood Parks And Recreation needs to align with the city to help with signage for parking. The lot is not large enough (maybe 60 spaces not positive) to have two directions. Even with it being clear to many that the natural flow was counterclockwise, a few felt the need to go against the natural flow. Then the streets around the park were full causing the streets capable of only allowing for a single lane of traffic. Even with a clear flow and literally no room for cars traveling in opposite directions... some attempted to push in, causing longer stand stills. It's like trying to go to the zoo/forest park on the weekends. But the park itself is fun!!! I do wish there was more shaded areas within the park itself. Parking needs to be fixed... there is no way an emergency vehicle could have gotten in to help if help was needed. That is a big concern.

I don't know if you could walk Forest Park in a day and feel like you saw everything because it winds around and there are smaller trailers that pop in and out of nowhere. Surprisingly, I do not think the city takes care of the park, but an established group called Forest Park Forever, whose history starts back in the 60s, or 80s? They are a group of volunteers who tend to the park - every part of it, in every season, and really beautify it! There is security on patrol often enough so it's not too isolating and scary. There are parking lots closer to the main attractions. There is also street parking here, which adds to it being active but a park you can drive through, bike, and walk.

We had our kids' birthday party there and it went extremely well. Super affordable to rent! The only downside is one parking lot is a flat trek to the playground but a longer one and the other parking lot is fairly close but you have to walk down a big hill and so then also back up. So anyone who is more limited with ambulation or someone who fatigues very quickly may not find this playground particularly accessible. Otherwise it is a super fun and simple playground!

Oak Tree Park pavilion is available to rent through the Brentwood Park system. It's pretty cheap ($60 for non-residents, $40 for residents). Parking is free along the streets, as marked. There are pavillions that can be rented. There is a regular Farmer's Market, as well as fairs/festivals that take place here throughout the year. There is a fountain where lots of people take photos and a glass enclosed building that is popular for wedding receptions. You will find kickball/softball fields, a playground, and much more. I do recommend you cross streets with caution (don't be staring at your phone!). People often drive fast through the park and you could get hit by a car if you aren't paying attention.
