MY MOTHER IS 100 YEARS OLD AND NEEDS GLASSES. You do not want to buy anything here. Daughter is running business and she doesn't care about people, only money. Mom was charged $1100. for 2 pair. 1 pair didn't fit, than it was too heavy, finally she couldn't see out of the bifocal. Lady made another pair and charged another $600. When questioned, she said she went to extreme measures. I paid, but BBB got my money back. When our optician saw mom and the final pair of glasses, he said the bottom bifocal was too low(mom couldn't see out of it), nose guards were too tight, sides loose and catching her hair. No specific receipt was given, just the final cost. Woman refused to disclose price until the end of the sale!!! This is a terrible place that OVERCHARGES and doesn't take client into consideration...only MONEY!!! AS I STATED, YOU DO NOT WANT TO SHOP HERE!!!!! read more

I recently got new glasses at Linder in Upper Gwynedd . I was charged $660 for progressive lenses, new frame and some kund of coating. My husband was an Opthalmologist for 45 years ( upstate PA) He also had an optical shop. The cost I paid for these glasses(nothing special about them) is unreasonable. I am happy to pay a fair price but $660. Is no where near fair. Every business owner deserves to make a profit but it should be fair. read more

Purchased a pair of glasses a year ago and they sold me on the upgrades for the lenses including anti-scratch and anti-glare. $700 for just the glasses, no exam. Within the past year one lens scratched and the anti-glare is almost completely worn off even though I used the cleaning towel they gave me. When I took them in I was told several times "you did this to the lenses" and there was nothing I could do except buy new lenses. Buyer be very beware. read more

Con Artist! I ordered glasses from here as I have many times before over the years. I'd always been happy with their glasses, but this time I had the most awful experience. First, I had to get new lenses because my current lenses fogged over in a permanent film. I found out later that the company that made the anti-glare coating issued a recall due to this problem. These lenses could have been replaced at no charge, but Marilyn (the owner) never informed me of this. Instead, she offered to make new lenses at full cost. On top of this, the lenses that her husband cut to my desired shape actually cut them off center. So the only way to see things clearly was to turn my head to the left. But the most incredible rip-off was that I had specified Crizal lenses because I have long eye lashes that tend to leave a film on the lenses. When I picked up the (wrongly made) lenses I was told by Mariyn that these were not Crizal, but were the same. I now have to wipe my glasses clean every 15-20 minutes. This is an all too typical case of a second generation owner not having the dedication that the parent/ founder had. Avoid this optician at all costs. read more

My parents have been customers of this place for years. They have always been great. My Dad is 90 and has needed to have his glasses repaired over time as he has sat on them etc. They have always fixed them promptly so my Dad didn't have to go without his glasses! I was tired of getting sunglasses that never worked out for me. A friend recommended Linder Opticians. They are open late on a Friday so I stopped in on my way home from work. Upon entering, I was greeted by Donna and then Marilyn, the owner. I showed them my old ones, what I was looking for in a pair and price range. Marilyn laid out several pair for me to try on, which I did. I'm kind of a bashful shopper for certain things, like sunglasses, and like to get another person's opinion. She was very helpful and had Donna be a backup to make sure I felt these were definitely the right ones for me. It was a very comfortable shopping experience. A few other customers came in that night when I was there and I noticed that they were both given the same great care as they gave to me. They left very happy as well. Once the glasses came in she made sure the fit was perfect. I got to use them the next day (as it was dark out) and I couldn't believe what a difference a great pair of sunglasses can be. I could not be more happier with my purchase. I highly recommend Linder Opticians for anyone needing sunglasses or glasses for that matter. It's a third generation small business that still has the old time service. It's a must visit type of business. You won't be disappointed. read more
