Friendly staff! The doctor seems knowledgeable and the office is small but clean. I felt comfortable voicing my concerns.

I would only give positive ratings to Dr Mark S Pyfer (Jr) because he works hard and deserves it. He smiles so much, you'd think you were at the dentist. His pleasantries and exuded confidence makes me feel safe, even at my very first cataract assessment and surgery. He also has an awesome Practice Manager, Diane. Other than all that, some of the older office ladies could learn to smile and greet patients, especially since they are front office. The older female employees seem to choosey about that. They exude bitterness. If it weren't for Dr Pyfer Jr, I'd never go back there. I can't stand bitter old women. read more

As an existing patient with damaged glasses, the office says they can't squeeze me in for months. I explained my inability to work without, could the please sneak me in, again current patient. Doc is solid, but good luck getting beyond the reception desk. Not a place that values the needs of existing patients. read more

I've been going to Northern Ophthalmic for a few years now. A few years back, I got a horrible corneal abrasion and they were able to help me right away. All of the doctors are wonderful and thorough, especially Dr. Dursky. My 4 year old daughter went today for an exam, and Dr. Dursky was great. When I called to make an appointment, they were able to fit me in a few days later due to a cancellation. We really lucked out! I absolutely recommend them. read more

I've seen the same doctor at this practice for years and visit annually for an eye checkup since glaucoma runs in my family. I immediately book my next appointment with the front desk before I leave the office. When I didn't receive any kind of appointment reminder this year I called to confirm, and learned a recent software upgrade blew out not only my appointment, but insurance info as well. The front desk didn't apologize and acted annoyed with me for taking up their time to reschedule. When my doc retires from this practice I'll leave too. My husband's and my business went through six software upgrades over 35 years, and we helped our customers out through all of them; doctor's offices shouldn't be exempt from providing courteous customer service or double-checking for data loss during software upgrades. read more

I've been going here for about 6 years now, and I now have to simply move on! It used to be simply ok, but it has drastically changed in my last two eye exams. It just seems like a total "rush-job." I do have very bad astigmatism, my eye sight has not been right for 3+ years. My last appt. back in Nov., was an absolute frustrating. First off I did have a 10:20am appt, but was not able to be seen until 11:35am - it seemed they were understaffed that day, the waiting room was packed. Even after this - it was rushed!! The assistant has you take the exam as usual, but once I did see the doctor...this part only lasted 3, maybe 4 minutes max. My questions were not answered. in the end I was told "don't rub your eyes." (Gee thanks!) After receiving a new eye RX, ordering new lenses, glasses - my vision was absolutely terrible. I did have schedule a free follow up, they checked my lenses and it did match with the RX given to me. I did yet ANOTHER eye exam, saw another doctor which gave different results and an updated RX. So once again I got replacement lenses - at no cost thankfully. The vision was better...but still not totally clear. Yet another follow up changed nothing with my script. Reasons for my lenses not matching my clear vision was never described. Again, doctor was impersonal. So I've been simply dealing with this since Dec. (when I had my follow ups). Now that it is mid-March, I have noticed my vision needs checking once again, I just need to find a doctor that has time for you, the patient! IF I have some other situation going on with my eyesight, I need to know what is happening and not get some runaround. read more
