    Drunken noodles
    Carmen P.

Absolutely delicious! The drunken noodles and curry just hit the spot! Our first time going to Big Bend and decided to stay in Alpine, TX, this was such a great decision! Really good food! The service was great, it's a humble cute restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is quiet and nice![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will be going back next time we head to Big Bend!

Tom Kha-- maybe pass on this. Not good.

First off-- order at the counter. Food: The menu wasn't super hearty. They don't serve beef which put a damper on our plan to order "Beef Pad See Ew." We were, thankfully, able to order the rest of our typical Thai Restaurant order, though: Pad Thai Chicken-- Basic and satisfied the craving. Noodles were sweet and nutty, veggies were fresh and cooked just right, chicken was plentiful. Yellow Curry Chicken-- curry had decent flavor. There was a good balance of veggies and chicken. Tom Kha with Shrimp-- Hate to say that it was not good from the moment it hit my mouth. Was giving dog-food flavor, ngl. Ordered an extra rice as we usually need to and they brought out three large bowls with at least three hearty scoops each. Not complaining; my family of four ate most of it, but you light not need an extra rice if it's just a couple of you. All the food came out on/in disposable plates and bowls which made us raise an eyebrow. After being on the road most of the day, we were too hungry and tired to care all that much, though. Chili sauce came out in packets. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Looked like some thought was put into the decor. Tables and chairs were nice but there were a lot of different conflicting decorations everywhere which made it feel too visually busy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bathroom was tidy but needed a good cleaning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ladies working there were kind. Worth a stop if you are in Alpine on a weekday evening and you don't feel like fast food.

Drunken noodle with on the left. Yakisoba noodles with chicken on the right. With chicken dumplings and a milk green tea

The food here was so awesome!!! I also asked for it spicy and it actually came out spicy. Which a lot of Thai places I've been to struggle with that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall the vibes were very nice and the people were friendly![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Love this spot. Always eat here when driving through here. I get the pad Thai every time and it's always sooo delicious. Got spice level 4 and it was delicious (it is spicy) Very very similar to Thailand Thai. Very authentic. Best Thai Iv had in west texas.

    Paper wrapped shrimp spring roll

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Good food, good service, very nice outside dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was a great restaurant when I first started going to it (1 1/2 years). Has been starting to go down overall in the last 9 months. Today, ordered shrimp spring rolls as I always do. They came in a paperboard tray. Not a good idea, the spring rolls stuck to the paperboard and peeled the spring roll open, so I had a shrimp salad. Saved the second one for when I got home. Even worse outcome! Tore the paperboard trying to unstick the spring roll. Ended up tearing the spring roll practically in half to get rid of the paperboard. Another shrimp salad. Rethink this. I can't be the first this has happened to.

Pad Thai and tugged shrimp were good. Good option if you are looking for Asian food in Alpine. Would definitely come back.

Had chicken curry, mostly milk. Sauce was too liquidy. Was like soup. Wontons were very tiny, more like bite size.

The first time I went to check it out I was offput by the QR code ordering nonsense. The employees were completely locked to their phones doomscrolling and it was difficult to get anyone's attention. Food was pretty weak, but acceptable for a diner. Price was ok. Then tonight I thinks to myself, I can't sleep, I should try that diner again - so I go out there at 1:30a and all the employees are hanging out in the parking lot playing with a car and tell me the diner is closed. Come back in a few hours. If you're driving through Alpine and you want a mediocre burger that isn't going to end up costing you $45, maybe it's worth a stop (it isn't) - but definitely don't go a single mile out of your way for it. They do not care at all and they really want you to know that.

The ambiance is more on the utilitarian side not super classy or trendy but where this place shines is in the food. We ordered the carne asada tacos and the chips and salsa. Everything was clearly homemade. The chips were fried fresh and brought to the table warm, and the salsa tasted like it had just been made. The flour tortillas were also fresh and full of flavor. It was very, very good. We popped in for a light lunch and enjoyed every bite. Authentic, satisfying, and perfectly balanced not too heavy, not too light. Just right. Fast and delicious. Bravo!

They looked really good and on the appetizer menu so I got them. Asked for the salsa flight but waiter said the prep guy did not come in that day so they had no salsa (none at all)! So o ordered the guacamole (which he competed). Also got a Jamaica juice that was so large I had to get a to go cup when we were ready to leave. The guacamole was house made but it did lack some flavor. It needed a punch of garlic and some salt. Only thing I could add was the salt from the table. Otherwise it was good and chunky. The nachos came out and they were massive. I was able to eat about 10 chips before giving up. My provider and I said we should have shared. They are loaded with meat, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico, and pickled red onions. I have no complaints bout the taste as it was all very flavorful and seasoned well. There are not a lot of options for food in town but I would eat here again.
