My husband and I came in for a $50 one-hour massage, and it was honestly the worst experience we've ever had. We left feeling absolutely terrible. My massage was "meh" at best. The therapist basically just did the same motion on my back for the entire hour. She didn't even touch my hands or feet, which is pretty standard for a full-body massage. It felt like she was just going through the motions with zero effort. But what happened to my husband was truly atrocious. His therapist was incredibly rude and straight-up body-shamed him the entire time. She called him "fat," made comments about him sweating, and then told him his muscles felt "double his age." Nobody should ever be made to feel that self-conscious or insulted during a massage. It was so disrespectful. To top it all off, we still tipped $10 each--which is 20%--even though the service was subpar and insulting. I pulled something in my neck and haven't been able to turn my head to the right without wanting to cry from the pain. I was looking for a certified masseuse on Yelp and Yahoo maps, when I found "Ling Ling Massage." I called ahead and made an appointment. When I arrived I told the owner that this wasn't a regular massage that I needed to fix the pain in my neck. She said she would personally give the massage and that she would be able to fix it. The room had nice ambiance with clean linen that smelled fresh. With calming light music in the background. Got an hour massage. You know it's a good massage when you fall asleep during it. She worked my neck and paid attention to find every knot in my back. She did some light stretching during the massage and kept the sheet draped correctly at all times. She was very professional and attentive. I noticed that she wasn't watching the clock but trying her best to give a superb massage. When it was over my neck was still a little tender. She smiled and said, let's try acupuncture and cupping. Something I have never tried before. OMG, what an amazing experience. Literally removed the pain afterwards. She instructed me to go home and take a hot shower for at least 10 to 15 minutes. By the time I got out of the shower I could move my neck to the right with no pain. Ling Ling is a amazing masseuse!!! Highly recommend this place. As far as tipping is concerned. Once you find someone that knows what they are doing. If I could give this place no stars I would, I went for Mother's Day and literally the worst experience of my life. It was hotter than hell in there, no air conditioning, fans couldn't even help. I wanted and hour and a half massage but left 25 minutes into the massage because it was so horribly hot, not to mention the older man "massaging" me was literally rubbing as if I was a fragile child, no pressure and no satisfaction. Also when he started rubbing my bottom his hands were completely groping my butt cheeks to the point where his fingers were in between my butt crack. Then they have the perverted guy that just wants to massage the butt area. I went tonight and of course only the guy was only available. I was in my underwear and he left the door wide open. If you want something a little more upscaled or boujee, I suggest you find somewhere with a higher price point better suited to what you need. They moved establishments from the mall and into their own building store over here on Bear valley, I'm sure they are struggling like many small businesses. But, I came in with a pretty open mind with my grandmother. $60 for both of us for 30mins and I couldn't complain. Felt great. This would be my first visit here, and my last. I was in desperate need of a massage, on arrival it smelled like whatever they cooked in their microwave. There was no ac, and no fan, causing the building to have very little air circulation. I felt embarrassed to leave right away so i thought id give it a chance. They walked me to one of the massage rooms and i immediately noticed the unsanitary sheets on the bed. Seeing this, i refused to lay down out of disgust. I said nothing, and simply walked out. The evironment is not relaxing at all, you can hear the sounds of what the receptionist is listening, including the voice of the receptionist talking to prospective clients. Most importantly they are ripping you off the tip. Told them to charge us $20 for a $90 service and yet they charged us $40. We already gave them 22% of service and yet they blindly charge you more without even asking to sign the merchant receipt copy.(make sure to ask for rcpt on this place). She is too cheap to hire a receptionist so she left the room a few times to handle customers. She massages like she has another appointment to get to. She acts like she doesn't speak English when it's convenient. I have been to this place three times prior my last experience. I went and got a massage with my friend. Was put in a separate room. It started as a good back massage. Then I was told to turn over to massage the chest. It was going well. Until the masseuse pulled my underwear completely down and started pouring oil on my private area, then began to stroke me. When I told her to stop she continued until I pushed her hand off me. I told her no, and she said "oh no?" And I said no. The massage ended five minutes after that. She took care of me very well, and let me start by saying if I went in there with the intention to pay for my massage, I would have brought a tip for her. However, I was given a gift certificate, and on the way out an older lady asked me if I liked my massage and I said yes And I said her name is Anne Lee, correct? And she said yes please leave her a tip and I said I didn't really bring money. I just brought my gift certificate and the experience totally shifted from pleasing and relaxing to pressuring and misleading. She automatically assumed that I was going to tip Big and asked if I wanted another hour and I said no I am sorry I only had that $50 gift certificate and she said well tip $10 I said I can give five dollars because that's all I have in my pocket at the time and she said no that's not a good tip. Give $10 or $20 come on you have it and I said no I don't. He literally dug his elbow into my ass crack and into my cheeks so hard i have bruises now. I made uncomfortable noises and swung my legs up to let him know i wasn't liking it. He backed off a bit... but then he came back!!! I thought that maybe I'm just a weenie and have a low tolerance but then realized that my massage bed was the only one making noise... If you want a relaxing massage this is definitely not the place. I went here a couple days ago at around 5pm in the afternoon to get a 1hr full body massage. I was placed in a room where I was told to get undressed and get under a sheet. For one this sheet barely covered anything it was so small. The man comes in and I tell him I want a soft massage nothing too rough. He proceeded to give me one of the laziest massages I've ever had. He even sat on the massage table at times and rubbed one spot in a circular motion for like 10 minutes at a time. The atmosphere was extremely loud! Kids running around crying, staff conversing with each other loudly, no relaxing music to try to mask the noise. Fast forward about 30 minutes in my "masseuse" disappeared and left the door wide open! I'm half naked with the sheet only covering my butt and I can hear people walking past the room, so uncomfortable! At that point I was ready for the massage to end. When I got to checkout the lady made comments about my weight asking if I ate and why I was so skinny. She told me I needed to eat more which I found extremely rude. Dirty and loud. This place is not designed for massages over 15-minutes. Never had a massage and my wife wanted to go for an hour long couples massage. We made an appointment at Ling Ling Massage the day before. We walk in, mention the appointment and a lady, seemingly in-charge, says to the five idle employees, "I'll take one; who'll take the other?" No one responded, so she continued, "come on guys! Someone's gotta do the other one!" After a couple of beats another employee volunteered. We wait in the main area while they prepare the room, as we must've surprised them by keeping our reservation. One of the employees comes back and tells us that the room is ready. We are ushered back to a storage/workspace area where a frame and shambolic curtains have been haphazardly hanged. Despite the excessive darkness to hide the conditions, I turned on the flashlight and saw inside this emergency room bay, were the two dilapidated massage tables lay. The fabric which covered the tables was old, revealed the foam cushion in places and was stained. The paper towel that had been split in two to line the `face hole' in the table didn't do its job in hiding the fact that this area, too, seemed unfinished with exposed foam. My wife was in desperate need of a massage, so we soldiered on. The massage began with the employee sitting on a footstool at my head and working my neck and shoulders. It wasn't long before waves of an extremely foul and pungent aroma began to sporadically find me. It smelled like a putrid cut of beef that had been rubbed with rotting fish. However, it went away when the employee stood to my side to work my back. The music they turned on 10-minutes into the massage still couldn't drown out the sound of the TV mounted on the wall in the adjoining business. At least, I was able hear the World Cup highlights. I'm asked to roll onto my back and the employee sits at my head and begins to work my neck and shoulders again. And, again, the smell returns. The massage table would rhythmically creek while the masseuse worked certain parts of my body. The overall dirty look, the aimless backroom set-up, the anticipation of being hit in the face with that smell made it impossible to relax. They finished 8-minutes early, we get dressed and leave the "room." We enter the main room and I see one employee, kneeling next to a massage table while resting his head on the cot with his eyes closed. Obviously, there is only one employee there that wants to earn their pay. We were charged $40/ea. and we were outta there NEVER to return. I feel $25/ea. would be a fair price for the quality of product and overall experience. We will be gladly paying more for our next massages elsewhere. read more
