    "Scallion" Pancake
    Hasmik O.

So I ordered take out from this place, right off the bat, lady handling the phones was so sweet. Patient, courteous and just an all around pleasure. I placed an order for pick up. Sesame chicken - really good Vegetable fried rice- different from any other fried rice I've had but in a very good way Pan fried pork buns - a must Scallion pancake- this was probably the most disappointing. Not a single sign of a chopped scallion, see photo. Took a bite thinking maybe it just tastes good like this? - it didn't, it was just bread. Didn't upset me though cause everything else was fantastic. Will probably just get the scallion beef next time. Cucumber salad- 10/10. Don't miss this as a perfect side to whatever you get. It was delicious and the liberal amounts of fresh cilantro really took it to the next level for me. 4/5 will order again. Pork buns not in photo cause they were in our bellies when photos were taken.

Supposed to be all white meat general tso, looks like some type of dark meat and tons of batter, not really edible.

I started getting food from here during Covid and the food was exceptional, after Covid the store started to cut back on quality of food, they started giving less white rice in the box (they no longer fill the box up), the general tso has changed it is without a doubt no longer all white meat it seems to be dark meat and very small piece similar to the size of meat you would find in a dumpling the rest is batter, so a piece is about 90% batter and 10% meat, some pieces aren't even edible, I felt like I was eating something else that wasn't even chicken with some pieces and in the to go container they fill up about 20% of it with broccoli so you get less meat, everyone knows you get 2-4 pieces of broccoli with a large order of general tso, today I got 9 pieces. Food is terrible now and will definitely never eat from here again. I'd you want great Chinese food, get Sen Hai off uber eat, trust me you won't be disappointed

Food (5/5): We ordered the chicken with eggplant and the fatty beef dry hotpot for to go. Both dishes were delicious! I particularly liked the texture of the eggplant and chicken which were tender. I also liked the fatty beef dry pot as the beef absorbed the good flavors. Service (4/5): Helpful and friendly service. We asked to remove the peppercorn in the fatty beef dry hotpot and they were able to. We came later and near closing of 9pm so ordered to go. The food came out reasonably fast. Ambiance (5/5): Nice restaurant interior with plenty of seats that are well spaced out. I like how well lit it is and how there are good ceiling decorations.

Finally found the Chinese restaurant for home delivery in JC! (Would also love to stop by the actual restaurant one day!) After trying several spots, thus one meets an exceeds expectations! My kids love Ma po tofu (but can't take it spicy) so this is one of the dishes that I always try to define if the restaurant is good or not. It was delicious!!! We also had the sipcy eggplant and flavours was spot on!

Sesame balls with red paste inside - dessert!

I recently moved into JC JSQ (Dec 2022) and I'm in love with this place. Ordered takeout twice and dined in once. I'm a huge spice lover, everything szechuan and chongqing. I always order their spicy dishes and ask for extra spicy -- I promise it makes the dishes the perfect amount of spicy yummyness if you love spicy mala dishes like me. For lunch special, I've ordered the 12.50 beef with green chili peppers and rice - decent size and asked for extra spicy. Food was fresh upon pickup and hot. Flavor was good and it came with soup. Takeout is always ready on time! For spicy dishes, I highly recommend: - Shui Zhu Yu (水煮鱼) Spicy Fish Fillets - Fu Qi Fei Pian appetizer (夫妻肺片) - Ma La Niu Rou (麻辣肥牛) Numbing Fat Beef Hong You Chao Shou (红油抄手) was good too, though not something I was like "OMG" for. Filling was more than most other places, and dumpling skin was smooth and thin. I also tried the sesame balls with red bean paste inside for dessert and it was really crispy, hot, and fresh when served -- thoroughly enjoyed it during dine in! My fam and I had a nice chat with the waiter/front desk worker and he's fluent in Canto, Mando, and English which is great :). Seems like the owner is from Northern China and the restaurant is under new management as of a month ago. Interior is very new and clean and big, bathroom is also very clean and nice, and restaurant service was great. This would be a nice place to go with family and friends for gatherings! A little more on the pricey side for dishes, but we're in Jersey City, so...sort of expected. As someone who has eaten these dishes in China and HK, as well as other good spots in NJ/NYC, I'd vouch for the authenticity of the food! I'll be back regularly from now on :). (I'll also update my review to include other photos and reviews of other dishes). P.S. they give out $5 cash vouchers to use for dine-in sometimes, with a dine-in meal $30+. Also, there is usually street parking available in front or across the street, max 2 hours and metered parking, free on weekends and holidays :) I'd expect this restaurant to take off once the park is built across the street as well. Perfect location!

lo mein, Shrimp String Bean Lunch Special, General Tso's Chicken Lunch Special
    Emily A.

The lo mein was okay, except I ordered pork and received beef. The General Tso's Chicken was incredibly dry. Shrimp and String Beans on the other hand were soggy, drowning in sauce. I thought the flavor on everything overall was just very underwhelming. Perhaps needed to try more authentic dishes but this was not it for a foodie white girl.

I didn't feel like cooking one Tuesday night so we decided to order from Ling Long Xuan for takeout. The menu looked pretty promising, with a number of classic Cantonese dishes. It wasn't your typical Chinese takeout menu. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. Here is everything we ordered: Yang Chow Fried Rice - this was the best dish. It hit the spot as a comfort food Chicken Lomein - a pretty solid lomein but a little bit too salty. I liked that they put bamboo shoots in there Pork and Preserved Egg Congee - this might be the worst congee I've ever had. It was so watery and flavor-less, and what little pork pieces were in there, tasted really old. If I didn't know it was congee, I could have easily mistaken it for dish rag water. Avoid this for your own good Scallion pancake wrapped with beef - this wasn't bad but also a bit too salty Probably would not order from here again, unless it's just to get some of the fried rice.

Love, Ling Long Xuan. First time visit for the new Lunar Year and what a delectable dinner it was to bring in the year of the tiger. We ordered take out which was easy and ready as estimated. Parking directly in front for an easy in and out. They provided all the usual sauce packets, napkins and chopsticks. The food was delicious. The chicken and sauce were flavorful with fresh crisp broccoli over fresh fluffy white rice. The chicken lo mein was light on the oil and ample amount of ingredients such as cut veggies and sliced chicken pieces, i could have used more spicy. The dim sum was fresh and delicious. Will return for more noodles and dumplings.

Peking Duck Dry Sauteed String Beans Chicken Eggplant with Garlic Sauce
    Liam R.

Good place to feed the craving of standard Chinese dishes. The Eggplant Chicken, string beans and Pork Xiao Long Bao were specifically delicious. The Peking duck was decent.

The food is not bad, the service is quite good, the price is a bit high, dinner time on weekdays is not busy.

Roast pork lo mein, wonton soup
    Craig G.

Ling Long Xuan has a very well deserved reputation for offering the best vaguely Americanized Chinese food in Jersey City. Craving a simple meal of roast pork lo mein and wonton soup while recovering from my second vaccine dose, I decided to finally give the spot a try. While a few dollars pricier than the run of the mill corner spots, the price is absolutely worth it. The wonton soup was pleasantly missing the blast of salt expected from most soups, with delicate wontons in a gingery broth, while the lo mein noodles were tender and handmade, perfectly matched to the meltingly soft pork. The menu offers up some more traditional choices (cumin meats, whole fish, hotpots); regardless of what you order, you won't go wrong. Highly, highly recommended

Been eating here for years now. Menu changed but quality is still the same. Please bring back braised pork with preserved cabbage :(((

They focus on sichuan and shanghainese dishes, but what really caught my attention was the FREE hanfu experience! It was pretty busy even on a rainy Monday, which says a lot about how popular it is in the neighborhood. It's located near Exchange Place/Grove St PATH! *Noodle w. Shredded Beef & Chili Pepper 小椒牛肉絲拌麵 $16 ** Their dry mix noodles totally exceeded my expectations! So saucy, perfectly bouncy noodles, and they didn't skimp on the bell peppers or beef at all. *Fried Bean Gluten 蘇式烤麩 $13 * My all-time favorite appetizer! The presentation was a little fancier than other spots, and the portion size matched the price as there were plenty of pieces of bean gluten. *Braised Abalone with pork Belly and Quail Egg 鮑魚元寶紅燒肉 $38 A "lucky dish" as abalone shaped like little gold ingots. The abalone was really tender, though I was hoping the pork belly would be melt-in-your-mouth. It came in a hot stone pot to keep it warm. The thick hongxiao sauce made me want a bowl of rice to soak it all up! *Tea-Infused Chicken with Mint 香茶薄荷葉香酥雞 $25 I could hardly taste the tea flavor in chicken, but the crispy mint really stole the show! The chicken stayed juicy and tender, and thankfully it wasn't too "yeet hay" after all lol. *Osmanthus Milk & Fermented Rice 桂花冰酥酪 $10 ** They've got many traditional, nourishing desserts, like pear soup, black sesame paste, and brown sugar fried sticky rice, but we went for floral and refreshing. The osmanthus and sweet fermented rice really popped in the milk pudding! Definitely save room for dessert.

We were seated at the very front where there was quite the draft when someone opened the door. They would probably benefit from a winter vestibule. Although the place was full and they received a lot of pick-up orders, the service was still attentive and fairly prompt. We ordered the Truffle Fried Rice, String Beans, and Mapo Tofu, all to be made vegetarian. The food took about 20-30 min to arrive. All of the dishes were flavorful, delicious, and pretty big portions for reasonable prices. The dishes are all a bit too oily for my taste but you can ask to adjust amount of oil. Towards the end, I tasted meat and double-checked with the waiter, and it turned out he didn't realize that we wanted Truffle Fried Rice to be vegetarian as well. Both he and the restaurant manager apologized multiple times. The manager comped our meal and also offered a gift card for the misunderstanding. Will definitely come back for the flavorful food and excellent customer service.

A Decade of Love on a Plate: A Local Favorite That Punches Above Its Weight…read more This place is the definition of a neighborhood gem--the kind you almost want to keep secret, yet can't stop yourself from praising. Cheap and cheerful on the surface, it punches way above its weight class, delivering inventive, clean, Asian-inspired food that's masterfully cooked by clearly skilled hands--and made with real love. I've been coming back year after year for most of this restaurant's 10-year lifespan, and that consistency is no accident. Every dish tastes intentional, thoughtful, and deeply satisfying, with a clear goal: to feed people love on a plate. It's a super veggie/vegan friendly that easily wins over even my "meat and potatoes" husband--who happily cleans his plate every time. In an era where genuine hospitality feels increasingly rare, Perry single-handedly restored my faith that quality service is not extinct. Warm, attentive, and authentically kind, Perry makes every guest feel seen, welcome, and cared for--without pretense or attitude. This is food that nourishes, service that uplifts, and a place that keeps you coming back not just for the flavors, but for how it makes you feel. A true neighborhood treasure.

I've seen this restaurant circling my YELP for the last few months and put it on my "want to try"…read morelist. This place is absolutely solid! If you're looking for good flavorful food options, this has got to be on your "must try" list, I genuinely do not think you'll be disappointed. I ordered the blueberry lemon iced tea, maitake mushroom medley with the option of udon noodles & added chicken, the coconut curry with the option of ramen noodles and the rice pudding with caramel sauce for dessert. First things first, my absolute FAVORITE thing about this restaurant is the food contains no GMO's no preservatives, pink Himalayan salt to season and NO REFINED sugars- only agave and palm sugar to sweeten. I WISH I would've known about this spot sooner JUST for that detail alone. I am always on the hunt for a place that offers refined sugar free options, and with that comes this level of safety knowing what I am consuming has a heath standard/holistic approach to meet and me not having to feel guilty or worrisome after a meal. Absolute 10/10 in that aspect. I saw a few reviews mention the blueberry lemon iced tea, as someone not even a fan of lemonade I decided to give it a try. Let's just say, I was slow sipping my drinks to not finish it all and avoid getting another in the same sitting lol. It's well balanced, not sour, blueberry flavor is present and knowing it's sweetened with agave led to guilt free pleasure. Would recommend everyone to try it, even if you're not a fan of lemonade like I am. Another mention, lemonade tends to make my throat dry, due to its sourness and tanginess and that didn't happen at all. Think the blueberry was more prominent than the lemon, it was really enjoyable. The curry ramen was a highlight! If your a fan of curry, I think you def have got to try this. I actually didn't get it (my partner did) because I didn't wanna be let down, but it was absolutely delicious. I got the maitake medley udon noddles with added chicken and what a blast of flavor. It had veggies, mushrooms, chicken, udon, eggs, kimchi and was extremely flavorful. I was very surprised that each element of the dish had its own flavor and spice that really jumped out, but paired well together. The least favorite thing for me on this platter was the eggs. Just your standard egg, I'm a fan of soy-marinated eggs on my noodles and not a fan of regular boiled eggs, but they are always an added protein plus! One honorary note, is the kimchi. I like kimchi, don't love it, but this was the best kimchi I have ever had. I even ordered a side to go. Another cool thing is the food is cooked fresh, right in front of you. Tbh, we were the only ones in there at 6 PM and food took quite a while, but I appreciate and prefer freshness over quickness always. The rice pudding is light and the homemade refunded sugar-free caramel addition makes it so much better. As there were only two options of dessert on the menu (rice pudding & matcha ice cream) I decided to give it a go although I'm not really a fan of rice pudding. Was it amazing? No. Would I get it again? Possibly. This place was on the pricier side I would say. My bowl of maitake mushroom w/chicken (added chicken being a $6.50 dollar up charge) was $34. Worth it for that price point? Not really, but good none the less. I also ordered a small side of kimchi (the small clear containers) and that was $7 which I think is crazy, but also it was good. For a better price point, I might've asked for a jar lol. Customer service- the workers were nice, but not really personable, which I don't really care for much, but bringing this up because there was this sense that maybe I shouldn't be in there or they just possibly didn't want to work. I tipped nonetheless, but for being the only couple or people in there I thought we would be greeted by everyone, just a simple acknowledgement, but it felt more like we were bothering them by walking in. I understand that people have their days and you have no clue what someone is going through personally, but it was distinct enough to mention- especially as someone who never really comments on the customer service aspect. I see through it cuz the food was great! Something about it was also just a let down, but I can't put my finger on it. Although it was good, I don't see myself frequenting this place. Maybe the price point is deterring me, but I do think it's worth a try!
