Had an absolutely amazing time at dun huang noodles! The food here is very flavorful and delicious! We had a large group so they put us in a room with a round table that had a marble slab that rotates, perfect for family sharing / sharing appetizers and multiple dishes! I ordered the beef noodles and it was so good!

Great noodles and dumplings! Overall a great experience Everything tasted really good Staff was friendly and attentive Restaurant was clean and orderly I think they might have missed putting in my dumplings as they came well after I was done eating my noodles. Other than that I was completely satisfied!

A great place to enjoy traditional Chinese noodle dishes. Love the spicy crawfish noodle and pork pancake. The only dish I wouldn't recommend is Silky Wide Glass Noodle since it's texture to hard to chew on. Street parking is free after 8 pm on weekday. The service is fast but the music selection they chose was not to my taste.

Came here with three others- one of them was a toddler. We ordered the lamb skewers, cabbage, Pan fried noodles, and wood ear mushroom salad. We realized that everything had some pepper on it, and that it was too spicy for the toddler. So we ordered plain noodles, but we never received it. The place was empty, but we had to flag down the waiter several times, which became a chore toward the end, especially when we were trying to get the noodles for the hungry toddler. It's quality food, so if you're in the area, drop by.

Food (5/5): My favorite was the braised beef noodles and spices potatoes. Both were quite delicious! We also came as a big group before and ordered a variety of dishes including the skewers and cold appetizers which were also solid. The second time we came we got the Lanzhou beef noodles which were solid and delicious as well. Service (5/5): No issues with the service. They were helpful, seated us fast and were flexible. Additionally I liked the phone ordering system. Ambiance (5/5): Really beautiful interior!! I love how upscale it looks and how clean decorated it is. The place has tons of windows and is really well lit.

Ordered: Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles (~$12) Pan Fried Lamb Noodles (~$16) Aya's take: Nothing like some warm noodles on a cold day! We were in the area and swung by for a quick bite to eat. They weren't too busy with a fair number of Asian patrons which we took as a good sign! We were brought to our table where you scan the QR code and order through your phone. Our orders were brought out pretty soon after which is great if you're on a time crunch. The Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles were soothing, savory, with a super light broth. I think the broth could've used more aromatics while the regular noodles had a nice chewy and bouncy texture. The portion of thinly sliced beef could've been a bit better but still a decent quantity considering the price. I loved the garnishes and chili oil as well. The Pan Fried Lamb Noodles was also solid! The regular noodles were cooked well and this dish had plenty of lamb throughout. The lamb was tender and loaded with cumin, garlic, and ginger. After quite a few bites, the cumin does become a bit overpowering. All in all, the portion and prices here are super fair and definitely kept us full for hours to come. Decent try!

My first time visiting Dun Huang! This is definitely a casual resturant where you get your bang for your buck! I would lable this as homecooked food at a reasonable price. A few things to note for newcomers: - No easy parking but very accessible by light rail - They don't take reservations and you put your name on a waitlist (via a tablet) as soon as you arrive - Orders are taken online via a QR code but payment is done through staff I tried the following dishes: Zha Jinag Noodles 4/5- Good balanced taste, but a little too salty for my liking Spice Oil Spill Noodles 4/5- I wish there was an option to add meat to this. Also wished it was spicier. Overall delicious though! Chinese Hamburger 3/5- Pork was soft inside the roll but a bit bland. Bubble tea 5/5- This took me by surprise but this was incredible! Make sure you get this when you visit. Overall, a good experience! I personally didn't see the Middle Eastern x Chinese fusion come through in their dishes, which was a bit dissapointing, but it was solid food!

Great service and food. We had the lamb skewers, their braised beef noodle soup and the panfried lamb noodles. All tasted great.

Fairly new spot in the Newport area. Langzhou beef noodle soup was soothing in the cold weather. Service was as expected. The zha jiang noodles are way too salty. I typically like that dish but super salty. Overall an "ok" spot for noodles. Dumplings came out frozen inside. I'd go back just for the soup. That's about it.

From a vegetarian perspective: I would not get the vegetarian dumplings again. Very bland. The tomato egg noodles were recommended by our server and were probably the worst noodles I've ever had. No seasoning whatsoever. We barely ate any of it. The spicy chili oil noodles were okay. Portions were kind of small. Service was minimal, and they do the awkward thing where you have to tip in front of them.

Is this place named after a city on the silk road? I'm pretty sure this noodle restaurant is a chain, but it's really top quality. Amazing decor inside and out, it's in the rich area of Newport where there's an amazing view of Manhattan. I came on a somewhat rainy day with a bunch of friends and somehow only spent $33 with ordering and splitting many types of noodle dishes. The braised beef noodle soup is somewhat similar to the Taiwanese dish, but the soup isn't as spicy. The beef is well seasoned and tender with a little bit of chewiness from the tendon. There are many options for the type of noodle. Can do thin, wide, wider , and extra thicccc. The way to order is very cool with a qr code and an app. The translations for the dishes are somewhat confusing. For example, lamb skewers were somehow translated to cordero skewers. The zhajiang noodles were very Q, which is kind of like Al dente and the minced meat pork sauce with beans is very good. The spicy potato dish could have been spicier, but the cool thing they had was deep fried pepper skins. Almost like potato chips. They do serve boba here, but my friend wouldn't recommend it since they aren't as chewy as XFT and a little hard in the middle.

It's a nice cozy spot, interior not to big (can sit five groups of two.) ordering is simple, at the front but the wait time is a bit long (seems like mostly for deliveries) The food was ok, the basil rice didn't have much of the basil flavor but it hit the spot, the drunken noodles was a bit overly salted.

A Decade of Love on a Plate: A Local Favorite That Punches Above Its Weight…read more This place is the definition of a neighborhood gem--the kind you almost want to keep secret, yet can't stop yourself from praising. Cheap and cheerful on the surface, it punches way above its weight class, delivering inventive, clean, Asian-inspired food that's masterfully cooked by clearly skilled hands--and made with real love. I've been coming back year after year for most of this restaurant's 10-year lifespan, and that consistency is no accident. Every dish tastes intentional, thoughtful, and deeply satisfying, with a clear goal: to feed people love on a plate. It's a super veggie/vegan friendly that easily wins over even my "meat and potatoes" husband--who happily cleans his plate every time. In an era where genuine hospitality feels increasingly rare, Perry single-handedly restored my faith that quality service is not extinct. Warm, attentive, and authentically kind, Perry makes every guest feel seen, welcome, and cared for--without pretense or attitude. This is food that nourishes, service that uplifts, and a place that keeps you coming back not just for the flavors, but for how it makes you feel. A true neighborhood treasure.

I've seen this restaurant circling my YELP for the last few months and put it on my "want to try"…read morelist. This place is absolutely solid! If you're looking for good flavorful food options, this has got to be on your "must try" list, I genuinely do not think you'll be disappointed. I ordered the blueberry lemon iced tea, maitake mushroom medley with the option of udon noodles & added chicken, the coconut curry with the option of ramen noodles and the rice pudding with caramel sauce for dessert. First things first, my absolute FAVORITE thing about this restaurant is the food contains no GMO's no preservatives, pink Himalayan salt to season and NO REFINED sugars- only agave and palm sugar to sweeten. I WISH I would've known about this spot sooner JUST for that detail alone. I am always on the hunt for a place that offers refined sugar free options, and with that comes this level of safety knowing what I am consuming has a heath standard/holistic approach to meet and me not having to feel guilty or worrisome after a meal. Absolute 10/10 in that aspect. I saw a few reviews mention the blueberry lemon iced tea, as someone not even a fan of lemonade I decided to give it a try. Let's just say, I was slow sipping my drinks to not finish it all and avoid getting another in the same sitting lol. It's well balanced, not sour, blueberry flavor is present and knowing it's sweetened with agave led to guilt free pleasure. Would recommend everyone to try it, even if you're not a fan of lemonade like I am. Another mention, lemonade tends to make my throat dry, due to its sourness and tanginess and that didn't happen at all. Think the blueberry was more prominent than the lemon, it was really enjoyable. The curry ramen was a highlight! If your a fan of curry, I think you def have got to try this. I actually didn't get it (my partner did) because I didn't wanna be let down, but it was absolutely delicious. I got the maitake medley udon noddles with added chicken and what a blast of flavor. It had veggies, mushrooms, chicken, udon, eggs, kimchi and was extremely flavorful. I was very surprised that each element of the dish had its own flavor and spice that really jumped out, but paired well together. The least favorite thing for me on this platter was the eggs. Just your standard egg, I'm a fan of soy-marinated eggs on my noodles and not a fan of regular boiled eggs, but they are always an added protein plus! One honorary note, is the kimchi. I like kimchi, don't love it, but this was the best kimchi I have ever had. I even ordered a side to go. Another cool thing is the food is cooked fresh, right in front of you. Tbh, we were the only ones in there at 6 PM and food took quite a while, but I appreciate and prefer freshness over quickness always. The rice pudding is light and the homemade refunded sugar-free caramel addition makes it so much better. As there were only two options of dessert on the menu (rice pudding & matcha ice cream) I decided to give it a go although I'm not really a fan of rice pudding. Was it amazing? No. Would I get it again? Possibly. This place was on the pricier side I would say. My bowl of maitake mushroom w/chicken (added chicken being a $6.50 dollar up charge) was $34. Worth it for that price point? Not really, but good none the less. I also ordered a small side of kimchi (the small clear containers) and that was $7 which I think is crazy, but also it was good. For a better price point, I might've asked for a jar lol. Customer service- the workers were nice, but not really personable, which I don't really care for much, but bringing this up because there was this sense that maybe I shouldn't be in there or they just possibly didn't want to work. I tipped nonetheless, but for being the only couple or people in there I thought we would be greeted by everyone, just a simple acknowledgement, but it felt more like we were bothering them by walking in. I understand that people have their days and you have no clue what someone is going through personally, but it was distinct enough to mention- especially as someone who never really comments on the customer service aspect. I see through it cuz the food was great! Something about it was also just a let down, but I can't put my finger on it. Although it was good, I don't see myself frequenting this place. Maybe the price point is deterring me, but I do think it's worth a try!
