Do not go with Lingo if you are looking for a phone service provider! Their customer service is horrible. I canceled services with this company due to having continuous issues with the lines being down due to water being in them (power lines, not our lines). I asked to speak with the individual's supervisor because she was being extremely rude and not answering the questions or being understanding of the issues I was having with their services. She would not let me speak to anyone else. I called back to speak with someone else, to cancel the service, and am still receiving bills from them over five months later. The phone has not been in service, yet they are racking up the bill every month. I've spoken to a lawyer and plan to take them to court due to various reviews that are similar to the issues I have with this company. I am trying to help anyone else who is looking for phone service! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! If you must have a landline, try Community phone, so far their customer service is amazing and we have not experienced any issues. This company has provided the worst customer service I've experienced ever. Without going into details, the summary is I've been trying to cancel since March 6 with dozens of communications. I have been ignored and made to jump through crazy hoops to get this account cancelled. I can only hope the account is actually cancelled now April 17 but to be honest am worried there will be more hoops to jump through before this is over. They state that their policy is they can take up to 60 days to cancel after you request it in writing AND you must pay for the service for the whole time AND must pay for a full month of service if the cancellation happens anytime in the middle of a billing cycle. They are scammers.. called our office when neither I nor the main boss was there. Our other secretary fell for there they are cheaper blah blah blah and assured her they where partnered with AT&T. So she signed paperwork. I called AT&T and made sure they new that we did not want to be switched over to them. Sure enough they found the paperwork in system and blocked it from happening. Mind you it had only been less then 24 hours from signing paperwork. And they said it would take one month. Don't fall for them they lie so much. read more

Do yourself a favor and use any other company. They are so unreliable and super unsafe. Our phone line was taken by someone else not once but twice. We never authorized this and we're loosing business because of this. It's nearly impossible to get out phone line back. Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Those employees are either naturally angry and rude OR they must be treated very poorly by Lingo. They are just plain nasty. They do NOT care that their phone service was down for 2 days and they did NOT alert any of their customrs. They do not care when their voicemail does not work and you can not receive messages. When you call to cancel they don't care and they let you know that since that it will cost you $200 to cancel if you give less than 30 days notice. But remember NO NOTICE was given to us when they shut down phone service for days. read more

New to my company and find a bill that I question from Lingo. I call and find out that the person who had the service left the company due to reduced sales during Covid. I tried the number on the invoice, and it never picked up. I was two weeks after an auto-renewing contract renewed. I was able to cancel it, but now I'm being charged $254.10 for cancellation fee. I asked to see the contract and they said they would provide a verbal agreement. Three times I had to call, hanging up once due to a 55 minute hold. Twice they said they would provide a verbal agreement, then a week later they sent an email providing a paper contract from 2014 with Birch that was only signed by the former employee and not Birch. I'm arguing that the contract is not valid due to the lack of a compete contract. There hasn't been activity in the phone for several months according to the invoices, but they still renewed a dead line. read more

Zero stars! Our landline is vital to our home, because we are in a location where cell phones cannot get a signal. Our line has gone down at least a dozen times in the three years we have lived in our home and we are stuck with Lingo because no other companies provide landline service in our area. Any time I speak with a technician, I can't seem to get them to understand that we need a landline, because cell phones are not an option if we have an emergency at home, and my husband and daughter both have medical issues. It takes multiple days to have a technician come to fix the problem, and we have missed important calls to tell us when to be at the hospital for surgery times, doctor appointment set ups, and other life and death situations that we shouldn't have to put up with while we pay for but do not receive decent, reliable service. It shouldn't be legal to be this ambivalent to the needs of the customer. It's a monopoly in our area, and there is no other company to go to for an escape! read more

3 months after I canceled my account, they keep sending me bills. I have confirmation numbers that don't make any difference to them.. They have a foreign company answering the phone who only goes through protocols and will not do anything that actually accomplishes the job of canceling service. Very parasiticz trying to steal money out of somebody's hand after they have canceled service. Very dishonest company, put me under a 3 year contract without informing me, I was told it was month to month until I decided to leave. It's at the end of the so-called contract, so I'm not being held to it. Now, before I decided to leave I was going from a land line to a cell phone for a business phone and it wouldn't work all the time, just sometimes. They want me to pay and send it back to them and if THEY decide it works they going to make me pay it, and they have the phone to sell again.It's either the phone or their service, bottom line, a phone that works part time is worthless. We'll see what they do, I'm still battling them. All I can say it "STAY AWAY". There's other companies with much better service and devices. I'll be back with another review when this is settled. Also, I've called them more then 25 times over this!!! I used to be a customer of a company acquired by Lingo for 15+ years. Since takeover, service deteriorated dramatically. Hence, I decided to change provider, but I, still, have $400 credit with them. In a span of couple of months, I called them 4-5 times to send me cheque. Each time, after 45 minutes waiting, I was promised that it will be mailed in 2 weeks.
