It wasn't too busy at 6pm when I arrived, but by the time trivia started at 730pm, it was pretty packed. Chicken Philly sandwich was good. Served with chips and pickle (upgrade to fries, tots, salad for $$). Pizza is usually pretty solid. My friend liked the French dip a lot. I think there was only one server for all the tables, and he was sure hustling! There is outside seating and a parking lot.

The crowd is very back woods Wisconsin which means a few things: rowdy, a little red neck and very friendly. The owner's son is behind the bar most nights and he has a very good handle on the place and knows almost everyone that comes through the door. The drinks are good and cheap and get filled quickly. Great place to watch a Packer game. Jello shots whenever they score and raffles for free drinking. The food is unexpected. Their burger is excellent although they only have American cheese for it. Their house made chips are to die for. My dad adores the tuna sandwich which is ahi tuna grilled medium rare on a bun with some spicy aioli. Their fish fry is good, although not my favorite in the area. I go back whenever I am there, I love this place.

Of the bookmarks I had within reasonable driving distance, Sideliners Pub & Grill intrigued me the most. I ended up ordering the three piece beer battered perch with potato pancakes for the side and wings for an appetizer with half Cajun dry rub and half Jamaican BBQ jerk sauce. I thought it was interesting that the jerk sauce was specifically labeled as "Jamaican BBQ jerk" and it ended up being an accurate description. It was more BBQ flavored than jerk flavored and had almost no heat to it like jerk normal does. The Cajun rub, on the other hand, had great heat and Cajun flavor. The jerk sauce wasn't bad, but my preference was the Cajun rub. In a picture I saw of the potato pancakes they looked like they were Italian breaded, similar to mozzarella sticks. Again, I was intrigued. Unfortunately, the pancakes didn't live up to my expectations. The breading didn't have much Italian seasoning and the pancakes were like mashed potatoes formed into disks rather than more common potato pancakes that are shredded potato flavored with onion. The pancakes were my least favorite part of the meal. The perch didn't taste like yellow lake perch and was probably something cheaper like pike perch. Even though I did like the beer batter, it wasn't exactly was I was hoping for when I ordered perch, but it wasn't bad.
