Although the ambience of the restaurant is spot on, along with the food, I felt shunned by the waitress who was clearly annoyed by accommodating my dietary requirements. She spoke to my table with a sense of 'I know best' when my allergies are nothing to be joked about. Really respected the remainder of the staff and it's clear that the owner knows what they're doing - just disappointed with the overall morale when taking into account potentially life-threatening ailments I have. A good chance we caught her on an off night, but disappointing overall, especially after reading such glowing reviews. read more

Here we are in the Wirral again to sample some of the local restaurants, and really this side of the Mersey does have some great stuff to offer. Lino's falls into this category and there's so much food to choose from that you might just find your mind completely overwhelmed, with specials to boot. It's all good too which makes the choice even harder! The first thing that struck me about this restaurant was just how traditional it was. You're met at the door, your coats are taken and the staff really do make the effort to have a little chat with you, on an informal basis which I do find far more comfortable. The food portions here are really generous, so much so that you might have to forego dessert for a starter and vice versa. It's Italian-stroke-Mediterranean in flavour and everything is fresh, zingy and full of pizzazz. Plus the service is absolutely excellent, as you may have garnered from the above. You're allowed to take your time and that's classically important when it comes to this type of food. The slogan of the restaurant is 'nothing is too much trouble'. You dirty beggars can stop your wild imaginations right now, it simply means that they're willing to accommodate your needs tenfold. And those needs are related to FOOD. And service. All of which is exemplary. Bravo, Lino's! read more

Lino's really is a special treat of a restaurant! The service here is second to none and the vibe you get from the second you walk in here is brilliant! As you arrive, your coats are ushered by a friendly gentleman and you are then escorted to your table and seated, the waiting on staff really make a fuss of you here, but on a personal level rather than the prim and proper service which can be very wooden and off putting at some restaurants. It's a very cosy place, sometimes even a little squashed, but the food is absolutely terrific. Starters range from around £13.00 to £15.00 for a la carte menus. Mains start at about £18 and go up to about £30! There are a couple of set menus that work out slightly cheaper, but whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed! They food is modern European, with dished such as Steak , Hake, Prawns etc, but the presentation and flavour is unique and fantastic, making this one of the top restaurants on the Wirral! read more

Based in the beautiful Hoylake, Lino's restaurant is a relatively small restaurant that has won numerous awards for its brilliant food. And that is what you can expect when you go the Lion's. We chose from a set menu, and everyone (party of 15) were all very impressed. They catered to the children's needs and made chips and nuggets and even let the littlest go into the kitchen to say hello to the chef. The waiter was very patient and made everyone feel at ease. He did well in catering to everyone's needs in a relatively small space and remembering who ordered what. Amazing soup to start, pork, and dessert to die for. A good range of wines and drinks made this a genuinely pleasant and enjoyable evening. read more

Excellent quality food here at Linos but you pay for it . It is expensive but you get well looked after the staff are really friendly and helpful and food is fabulous and so lovelypresented on the plate. Good variety only feel you are a bit squashed can hear the next tables conversation as you are so close but other than that tables are beautifully laid up with nice white tablecloths on.Fantastic wine list from the cheapestto the dearest and all served by the wine waiter himself who advices you what to have with your meal. There is a car park round the side of the restaurant were you can park and dont have to pay at this one and not far to walk to the restaurant. read more

Consistently the best place to eat on North Wirral. Front of house staff are as good as any in the business and the menu, though a little less adventurous than it used to be, is still interesting. read more
