The best General Tao's chicken I've ever eaten! Alvarado you have a true gem in your town!! The chicken was lightly crunchy with a sauce that had just enough heat to bring a sweat to my nose. Loved the fried rice, it wasn't all stuck together like most I've been to. Sam had the Hot Pepper Chicken and it was spicy chunks of chicken, grilled onions and sliced jalapeños. The owner Sam brought out our hot, made to order dinners and afterwards introduced himself and we had a good laugh about both being Sam. He said my Sam was #1 and he was # 2. On Memorial Day, we called to make sure that they were open. Was told they'd be open till 9 o'clock. We arrived at 8:25 and they said oh no we we're closed except for takeout because we have to clean the kitchen. Why a table out front affects cleaning the kitchen made no sense to me. I wasn't a fan of Lin's. The fried rice seemed off, as in not very fried. It had the consistency of steamed white rice. I had the seasame chicken and the sauce was a bit congealed by the time I got home. Nothing that a microwave couldn't fix, but once I saw it, it was in my mind. I think at LIns Chinese restaurant it depends on who is cooking that day. I had it delivered twice(they no longer deliver through doordash, but they use to). The first time it was great, they replace what a lot of Chinese places use in kung pao with zucchini. Most places just use carrrots and celery. I hate that. The sauce was very good and nice and thick not runny. The second time it was not as tasty. the sauce was bland, thin and runny. Now I know why some people told me not to try it, but some gave such great reviews on here. They do need to bring back grubhub or doordash though they are losing business. read more

After speaking with "shm" an employee of this establishment. I was told that they do over cook their lo mein. The issue was, I ordered a few things and the main course was the beef lo mein. I ordered a small shrimp lo mein for our son. Most of the order was okay egg rolls, drop soup. But the lo mein for our son and our main course was clumps of gelatin. There wasn't any flavor and smelled of chicken,"beef and shrimp doesn't usually smell of chicken I don't think" we couldn't eat any of it. The rice was so dry as well fried rice and white rice. Basically seemed to me that all lo mein and rice we were served was from days before if just not left out all day. I picked our food up after work and was already done with the day. Super disappointed that people actually served food in this condition than use the, "we over cooked it as an excuse." Turned me off Chinese food altogether. read more

Hubbie and I where driving thru and spotted this place. We where hesitant at first... but omg it was the best Chinese food we have had in a long time! We got the dinner for two with moo goo gai pan and the chicken was amazing. You have to get the crab rangoons! I could have eating a full meal on them alone... delicious!! I was a bit skeptical but the food is so good! My bf and I decided to try it one night for dinner and we loved it. The chicken was still hot and crispy when we got home which is good I hate soggy chicken the flavor was amazing we also got crab Rangoon( very good but not sweet which is what I prefer) egg drop soup had a good flavor and I got the shrimp with lobster sauce good nice pieces of shrimp no mushrooms in it though. Hot pepper chicken is really good and if you do not care for onions they will substitute them for cabbage which to me makes it way better. The egg rolls and crab Rangoon's were delicious. The fried spring rolls tasted like raw onion and seemed a little doughy so I won't get those again. But overall really good American Chinese food. read more

I read the low scores for Lin's I was skeptical. I always read the bad ones first. The good reviews were for Hot pepper chicken, I got that. I tried the lunch special $5.75. And the Orange chicken. I'll asked if they had Pad Thai. Nope! The cashier told me emphatically that I could get that in Cleburne. (Ok). He was insulted. Well...I felt I insulted when I got my food home. Let's just say that you have to be a big onion piece lover. I'm not that. Nonetheless, I had a mountain of onions hidden in the small container. I know it was a mountain cuz I picked every single piece out! It was half the dish! Next up was the actual chicken. It tasted burned. Scorched at best. Grainy. The rice was less flavorful. The whole thing was dry. I had to summon spit to get moisture. The orange chicken was better but not by much. It however, was grainy too. (Sigh). You know restaurants go under because of no returns. No one returns! I'm not going to either. Good luck Lin's. I'm going to Cleburne next time I'm in Alvarado and want Asian food. read more

Buffet usually has lots of variety. Quality of food is just ok, not great. If we're in a hurry and don't feel like driving to Burleson or Cleburne for "real" food, we usually stop here since it's close. My husband is more of a fan of this place than I am. To me it seems a little on the, I dunno, greasy (?) side. I tend to like my Chinese a little more on the dry (not a lot of added sauces) so that I can add it myself. read more

We were staying at a hotel next to Lins. Heard it was decent through Yelp but they used way too much butter to cook our food. Almost half way through my fried rice i had to stop eating even though i was starving. We're from Arizona so im not sure what this place is like compared to other chinese establishments around here.
