We also got the shrimp tostada, meatball, and burger as out main dishes. The shrimp tostada was disgusting. It was a fried flour tortilla served with wilted lettuce and shrimp drowned in mayo. It was basically unedible. The meatball was okay, it was not what we expected though. It was a giant meatball served with a huge piece of butter in between it. The burger was the only thing that was great. It was cooked medium rare, and was huge. The fries were soft. We would not come here again. Now I've pervious performed at and attended over 100 open mics, at different bars, venues, houses etc, and believe me when I say this was one of my all-time favorite. All the musicians were super talented, the host was a pro's pro, and the audience were incredibly supportive & engaging. The space just felt warm, friendly and had a calm yet electric buzz the entire evening. Also, the bartender, Penny, really seemed to set the tone for the entire bar. She is extremely welcoming, witty and just an all-around positive person. You can tell she really enjoys her job and makes sure that her patrons are having a good time. I was sticking to non-alcoholic ginger beer all night and she only charged me $2 each, how kind is that?! All in all, a true gem of a bar with an open mic that I will 1,000% return to.
