JC's Restaurant has gotten better and more popular as the years come. I've been a fan of JC's for quite some time now and their quality always impresses me. Listen when you're in Mastic, you have to stop by and get their Mussels! Yes Mussels! Especially in their spicy diablo sauce. You get a whole bowl full of 20 or more mussels for cheap! And they come with a side of garlic bread that soaks in perfectly with the sauce. Totally mouth watering! I also highly recommend getting their chicken parm! Thick cut chicken cutlets, with their hearty marinara sauce and topped with mozzarella cheese and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Truly a delicacy every time I'm in town. read more

We decided to eat here last minute at 7:30pm on Sunday night. I called and asked to see if we need a reservation. They asked for how many people, and I said 4. They said they don't make reservations for that amount of people. So I'm guessing they only take reservations for larger parties of people. We arrive at 7:35pm. The hostess said the wait would be about 20mins. She said to check back around 8pm for our table. We were seated at 8pm, but she seemed to forgot about us, becasue the table was opened the whole time we were there. We started off with the appetizer sampler which was 5 wings, 2 clam cakes, and 2 potato skins. The appitizer was good, the wings were a bit dry. We also got the shrimp tostada, meatball, and burger as out main dishes. The shrimp tostada was disgusting. It was a fried flour tortilla served with wilted lettuce and shrimp drowned in mayo. It was basically unedible. The meatball was okay, it was not what we expected though. It was a giant meatball served with a huge piece of butter in between it. The burger was the only thing that was great. It was cooked medium rare, and was huge. The fries were soft. We would not come here again. If you happen to come here, get the burger or pastas they lookd good. Stay away from the shrimp tostada. read more

FINALLY stopped at JC's for lunch before heading home to Queens, having passed the place many times! Good looking restaurant and nice atmosphere. Shout out to Tommy, our waiter. He pretty much ran the show and was so welcoming . He really knows his stuff. He's been there from the start and is a super nice guy! Everything he recommended was spot on: Oysters casino ( hubby's first time) and Burrata Chicken was delish (didn't need the chicken). Perfect Al dente Pasta in a yummy sauce and who DOESNT LOVE BURRATA? Fried Calamari was a hit as well. Portions are huge. We were way too stuffed for dessert, but Tommy gave us a sample of their homemade Cannoli cheesecake, really good! Returned again with group of 6 hungry guys from the Manors...we sat in private room in rear of dining room and had great service and food. Cocktails always perfect and they have Guinness on tap...perfect pour! Appys were great especially the Thai Wings!!! Mains ran from burgers to steak...nary a .comment... busy eating. Ordered boneless buffalo wings a couple times here and I have no idea what kind of sauce they use but it is not your typical buffalo sauce... it's almost like some sort of italian dressing mixed with hot sauce? Very odd. Besides the buffalo wings, in general the food is eh. Their french onion soup is good but that's about it. We happened to be in the area last night and had been meaning to go here for a while. We are just sorry we hadn't made it sooner. Everything about this place aesthetically is beautiful from the landscaping outside to the decor inside, but the best part is the food is so good too. It's a cold rainy day and I do not want to travel far. So I let Yelp pick the closes location to me, that I haven't been to yet. Mikes Place being 10 minutes away won a visit. When I got there looking from the outside it looks like a house, with a second floor and windows, I felt like I was going home. But walking in however, this place was no home, it looked great. Brick and wood design with TV's everywhere you look. This place would be ideal for Football Sunday. I took a seat at a tall boy table and received a menu from the only Bartender/ Waitress. She was nice very friendly to the 3 patrons she was serving. She seemed very caring and it was nice to see that kind of attention being shown. I made my order quickly and then my food finally came. I couldn't believe how amazing this food looked! The burger itself was thick and they added a ton of bacon. Not to mention they had so many onion straws on top. The fries were delicious as well. Not to salty and they added just enough cheese to were I didn't feel cheated. So I bet your asking, "Evan so why didn't you give it 5 stars?" Well I'll tell you. For starters it was cold, really cold inside. I was wiping my nose more so then wiping my mouth with a napkin. I know heat is expensive, but don't sacrifice customer experience to save a few dollars. Second the service was slow. I know she was the only person there but it took her time to come around. I don't totally blame her, she was very popular with the guest and a couple that walked in. They talked to her a lot. Next they don't serve macaroni or potato salad as side, just coleslaw. I'm not a fan of coleslaw so I passed on it. Now my food took forever to come out. I was the only person at that time that made a order and it took over 20 minutes to get my food. I wonder why? Maybe because they bake the bread from scratch? I don't know. These things are not the nail in the coffin for Mikes Place, the pale in comparison. The food was great the waitress was super friendly and I dig the atmosphere. I will definitely be back. His ability to create new menus weekly and refresh the facilities interior and exterior on a continuous basis astounds me The food here is outrageous and I've never had a bad meal... Great spot for a half pound buffalo burger. Get it marinated or Cajun style. Mikes Place Too also does baked clams and clams on the half shell. Not a bad place to sit at the bar and eat, with a decent selection of taps. 2 for 1 wings Wednesday nights, and on weekends, they have nighttime specials with cheap cocktails and sampler platters. We have been to this place in the past and it was ok, but the last time we went, about a week ago it was disappointing, the food I ordered was bland and dried out ( a Turkey burger) and the hot wings came out cold and under cooked. My wife ordered a house salad and that was good but way over priced! They have a large selection of tap beer, but the beer we got was flat so we asked for bottles instead. They didn't take the tap beer off the check! The staff , bartenders did their job but had attitude toward the non regulars. This place could be really good if they put in some effort. Stumbled into this gem last night and at first was not impressed. Two people at the host desk (one on the phone) and we were ignored for a few minutes. After finally being acknowledged and seated (and changing seats a few times because the a/c was working too well) we were seated at the most perfect cozy table by SUE, who is the true shining star of the night. She was kind and accommodating snd made us feel welcome. We both work in the service industry and know how hard it can be sometimes. The truly good ones need to be acknowledged as all too often people only like to complain. Thank you Sue, for making our experience exceptional. JC's is a lovely restaurant known for the huge hamburgers. Unlimited soda is offered, which my adult son appreciates and gulps down. The best part of JCs is the driving range and golf course. $10 to practice at driving range and you get 90 balls to hit across the range. I would have given 5 stars but sometimes the wait time to get dinner is long (lunchtime is better-don't need a reservation if you show up about 1 pm) + I'm not sure if my son and got a little sick after eating the hamburger. So, won't fault them for that. Overall, it's a friendly, down home place to hang so I would try it. read more
