When we bought a new washer & dryer, I used the opportunity to do my best to clean the dryer vent. I got a lot of lint out of there. But when the new dryer ran the first time, the fancy sensor on it shut the machine down, giving an error message that said the dryer vent was 95% blocked with lint. With a long weekend (and a big snowstorm) bearing down on us, I scrambled to see if I could find someone to come clean the vent. I placed a call to Stuart, and he called back within 30 minutes. I explained the situation to him and asked if there was any way he could come that afternoon. He graciously agreed to find the time in his busy schedule. When he arrived, he got straight to work and soon had cleared huge amounts of lint from the vent. He was careful with the new dryer and with the laundry room, which he cleaned thoroughly before he left. He was cheerful, courteous, efficient, and effective. Stuart came by today to remove a metal mesh from my dryer vent that the roofer left in there. He told me he couldn't do that when he got up on my ranch house roof and looked at it. He said it wasn't something he could do. It seem kind of weird because I went up there by myself two years ago and was able to bend a 2" x 2" area of the mesh down to allow airflow with just my hand. I am disabled now, so I can't go out there. But anyway, then I asked him if he could just clean the vent because I definitely think it's got a build up of lint because the dryer is running hot and it is a gas dryer. He declined to do the cleaning either... Which is weird because I've cleaned it multiple times with my vacuum since it's only about 3 feet long. I just can't get on the ladder anymore to do that. Then...he charged me a $60 trip fee. He did not mention on the phone when I made the appointment that there was a trip fee. This was a waste of my time and money. read more

Our house is only a couple years old so we have been surprised our new dryer was getting the D80, indicating air flow issues. What Stuart found was on the vent on the roof. There was a clump of lint that built up over time that kept the vent flap from opening all of the way. I realized I had a dryer vent problem over the weekend. I called LintFree after I did a load of laundry one recent Monday and smelled something burning. Not a good sign! From previous experience, we know this almost always means a clogged vent. My husband and I are renters, and we had no idea when the dryer vent was last cleaned out in this property. Thankfully, Stuart was able to come over within a few days of my initial phone call. Our vent was completely cleaned from both the inside and the outside, and ours happens to exit right above my kitchen window, so I had a great view of everything that was going on. I'll spare you the gross details of all the lint that came flying out, though. :) Stuart completed the work thoroughly and in excellent time, making sure to clean up everything very well after he was finished. He charged exactly what he said he would, which was actually slightly less than the previous company we used at a different property, and he did the work better!
