Recieved my shipment yesterday and it was not worth it. 1st the bag smelled like cigarettes, someone was smoking as they packed my shipment. What we recieved was scraps. The king crab...all claws no legs. They we short and stubby which meant they were super hard to crack. My snow crab..some of the legs meat was turning black and all in pieces. There was not one that was intact. They didn't pack the king crab in one bag and the snow in a separate wrapping taped down and secured. It was all thrown in a big bag, the bag not taped, tied, sealed and just thrown in a box. Dont buy from here, they take mo pride in their product. read more

We called and ordered a bushel of crabs for my daughter's birthday. We were given a price of 225.00 when we arrived to pick up our order we were told that our order wasn't available but offered another order for 295.00 for a bushel being the the last minute we had no other choice due to having family over we took them. We choose to steam our own and found about 30 crabs were dead. Yes we were very disappointed and called the next day to let them know they seemed to not care at all!!!!!. Every year I ship crabs to my brother that lives in TN. The staff at Lilnton's is always friendly and helpful. My brother thoroughly enjoyed the crabs too. This year since the Jumbo's were running smaller than anticipated, Linton's through in some extra crabs and a note explaining which I thought was a nice touch. Linton's was recommended by a friend from Maryland as a reputable source for having crabs shipped. Seeing how I now live in Hawaii I wanted to be sure we were getting quality MD crabs. They did not disappoint!! The crabs were of amazing quality and a great price. They also had a special at the time where we got 2lbs wind of shrimp included in our order. We had a Crabfest at our home here in Hawaii with a group of folks that all have lived in MD at one time or another, and everyone was more than pleased with the shrimp and crabs. This review is only for lunch - we did not purchase fresh seafood. I had the crab cake sandwich and my husband had the flounder sandwich. Both were only OK. The menu doesn't say what comes with the sandwich and the counter person wasn't informative, do we ordered a bag of chips and drinks. Bags of chips come with the sandwich and a pickle. Might be nice to have someone let customers know that. We sat in the screened in patio and there were tons of flies - they need to use covered garbage cans or move them outside. Ugh. I ordered thru our catering company fresh soft shell crabs and stone claw crabs. Both equally fresh and delicious. Our Lake Geneva waterfront clientele waited at the magical stove to get the shoft shell crabs fresh from the pan as they were being finished with white wine and capers! read more

Born and raised in MD, moved to the West Coast later in life -- gotta have crabs. We ordered steamed crabs for overnight shipment no less than 6 times, with very mixed results. The Good: Crabs were pretty good -- not the best, but for shipping cross country the "mush" discards were very low. I was a crab steamer at a Maryland restaurant in my youth, and I know what has to be done to sort out waste. The Bad: At least two orders gone bad -- one because we ordered too late to trigger a shipment, another because of alleged "bad weather". The Ugly: Customer service, for delivery anyway, is utter crap. Our last order never arrived, despite my repeated calls asking for a tracking number. Follow up contacts blamed the failure on the aforementioned bad weather (which did not exist according to weather reports). The proprietor apologized and offered extra consideration in our next order -- so I took him up on it the following week. There was NO extra consideration, the order was WRONG, and they charged an EXTRA $10! I really don't complain much, but this is just plan crap service. Probably a perfectly OK place to visit in person, but DO NOT recommend for shipping. read more

Buyer beware. I ordered their Backfin Lump crabmeat which they describe on the site as "contains large pieces of lump and some broken body meat". I have purchased this product for years and know what to expect. What they sent as subpar at best. A few lumpish pieces on top and the rest mush. I spoke with someone who said he was the owner, bit cranky, and he admitted they send 60% broken body meat and 40% lump. A far cry from mostly lump and some... In my case I receive 80% mush and 20% lumpish meat. In the process the "owner" told me the product is different these days, not like before. Yet the prices do not reflect a lower grade product. He even said " I would like to hit you up the side of your head" all because I was not buying his explanation. read more

I am very impressed. I am from Northern Indiana. I placed my order 2 pints fresh shucked oysters before 1 pm @ 11:23 am Wednesday morning as is recommended on the shipping information page, I asked for next day air saver and it was shipped 9 am Thursday morning. I didn't know about it because it was delivered to my work place, so it sat in my parts receiver room until 2:20 pm. It was not a particularly hot day. It was probably 75 degrees in the parts room. I opened the box my two bubble wrapped and brown wax paper taped jars were refrigerator cold. There were 5 ice packs in the box. And more brown paper and bubble wrap. This will be a wonderful surprise for my mom's 60th birthday party! I am making her Grandma's beloved oyster stew. I cannot say I will know how great they taste as I do not eat oysters, but there was no fishy smell at all which is a great sign! read more

We ordered a dozen large steamed crabs for a birthday dinner. When we got home with our crabs we were very disappointed. They were overcooked or reheated, the meat was dry and stuck to the shell, and about half were paper shell, white crabs that were almost void of meat. We have ordered crabs here before and were satisfied, however after this order we will rethink our next purchase. We drive down from laurel DE and pass quite a few other seafood stores, the drive does't warrant the product sold. read more

5 pounds of King Crab. 3 tubs of jumbo blue crab meat. 3 jars of oysters. $55 for "2 day" shipping to Colorado. Normally I just go to the local grocery store but this was for a special occasion so I splurged. Not one single thing I ordered came frozen. Nothing! The lids on the 3 jars of oysters were not sealed so the juice was all over. The 3 pints of crab meat were so full of cartilage I wouldn't feed it to my dog - much less important guests. King Crab had virtually no taste. Too late to return of course. So went to 3 local grocery stores and got what I needed. Turned out perfect and I'll NEVER EVER shop with this company again. What a joke they are! What a rip off! Don't get duped like me... Perhaps they should stick with bait? read more

We, a bunch of East coast (VA & MD) transplants, have ordered twice from Linton's. Two bushels, overnight, on dry ice, to California. The crabs are cooked Friday and sent overnight, arriving at noon on Saturday via UPS. They are SUPERB quality. Harvey is wonderful to work with on placing your order. He sent us plenty of mallets and extra spice. This year's crabs were even better than the last. Tackle, Bait and fresh food. Search engines could not find tackle and bait any closer so we popped in here on the off-chance they had something that would save us time. They had a fine supply of tackle and frozen soft-shell crab, crab parts, blood worms and crabbing supplies. We also got the big flounder and crab cake sandwiches. Excellent. read more

I ordered 24 jumbo soft shelled crabs. They arrived with with no dry ice. It all evaporated. Only the UPS being early and the cool nights saved the $154.00 order. I reached out to Linton's Seafood and received nothing back. When I ordered it was all peaches and cream. I do not recommended them. read more

I placed a large order online . I was called the day it was supposed to be shipped and told they couldn't send it to me and could I drive several hours away to get it ? I said no cancel the order . They never filled the order and they never sent it . Here's the worst part they didn't refund my almost 500 dollars . I have been calling for months to get my money . I am always told to call back and talk to someone else . They completely ripped me off . Now it's months later and still no refund . Absolutely dishonest . I ordered 3lbs of their JUMBO LUMP CRABMEAT and noted that they typically ship Fed Ex 2 day delivery. That seemed a little odd, but I didn't give it a second thought. They must know what they are doing. I received 3 plastic containers that appeared to be Back Fin lump crab and not JUMBO LUMP, a lesser grade. I opened one of the containers and the crabmeat smelled like auto fumes and tasted oily...is the best way I can describe it. I opened the 2nd container and was blown away by the awful dead fish smell. I have no doubt whatsoever that If at it I would surely wind up in a Emergency Room with food poison. I sent LINTON THREE EMAILS asking for only a two thirds credit and received NO REPLY. I called TWICE and got no return phone call. Linton's is a poor excuse for an on line seafood company. You should STAY AWAY from LINTON SEAFOOD. I can all but guarantee that you'll be better off for it. However, I would WHOLEHEARTEDLY RECOMMEND HARBOUR HOUSE CRABS @ 888-458-8272. Very disappointed. Have had okay service in the past, but this time our crabs arrived late and I have emailed the company 3 times with no response. Half the crabs were inedible and to have no response is very disheartening. Will not use use this company in the future. read more

So, I wanted to send my parents some crab legs this past Christmas and thought I'd give Linton's a try. Having eaten seafood for most of their lives they have a pretty good idea between quality and garbage. Also, they would not be inclined to complain since this was sent as a Christmas gift. However, they did tell me that the crab legs they received from Linton's were among the worst they ever had. They were poorly packed, small, dried up and just bad. When they contacted Linton's about this they were basically just shut down and more or less told too bad. So, be wary about these guys. Thanks. read more

Cool little place. We had some great seafood at a reasonable price. Service was excellent. There are two dining option, first being the air conditioned room the second being a screened in porch. Waitress service only on busy days. Thursday thru Saturday I think, otherwise you order inside then find a table and someone brings your food to you. read more

I wanted to participate in the all you can eat crab and corn, but just got a dozen large males for carry out along with three corn and a couple mallets. It took about 15-20 minutes to get them steamed, and came out to a bit over $50. Medium seasoned with Old Bay, they were very well placed on a box with foil so car didn't get soiled. Half of the crabs were fat and the other were a bit on the light side. All in all, still very good! read more

This mom and pop joint is popular with locals and campers from Janes Island State Park, as it is right outside the park. We came here recently to get a dozen of their steamed crabs (medium) seasoned with Old Bay for about $24.99. They were so fresh and delicious. Other fresh and frozen seafood were also available. We also tried their Smith Island cake as this was supposed to be a popular local dessert. It was just meh for me. It was nice of the owner to offer me another slice as the one I had gotten was kinda small. read more

I was in Crisfield on Friday on business and stopped in here to get a few crab cakes to take home and broil. They were the worst crab cakes I have ever experienced! Not an ounce of lump, not sure if even any backfire meat...it was like ground crab meat with mostly filler. Placed an order for 10 pounds of Crab Legs for a birthday gift... ordered on 9/16... to be delivered 9/22- the birthday..... on 9/22--- no delivery- phoned the company and after being passed around to 3 different men, was told I would not receive on tuesday since Fedex is not open on Sunday and I had paid for 2 day delivery. So, the delivery would be made on 9/22... GUESS WHAT? it's 9/22 and NO DELIVERY. In fact received email from Fedex that order JUST WENT OUT ON 9/22 and won't be delivered until 9/24. Tried a different company this year. I needed a Tuesday, Dec 29 for out of town guests coming in special for that day. I placed the order on Dec 21. When I checked tracking the snow crabs would not be delivered until Wed Dec 30 at 8 pm! No courtesy call from Linton's to inform me of delay. When I called them a sarcastic guy made fun of me for selecting wrong shipping method. He was talking nonsense about playing the joker in a movie...and wouldn't help me expedite the order. Also, when the crabs arrived, they were thawing and covered in barnacles. I'm going to use my old stand by and reliable Kroger next time. I was duped. If you are planning to order crabs for delivery, I recommend OBryckis.com. My order with this company was disappointing, "honey." My husband, who is from Maryland, wanted steamed crabs for Father's Day. After searching the web, I chose Linton Seafood for delivery to Massachusetts. Unfortunately, I couldn't get delivery on Father's Day, but Tuesday following was available. I selected that option. I took a day off work to be home for the delivery. Paid nearly $60 in shipping for a dozen crabs. So excited to have a Maryland night here in Boston! By 3 p.m., when nothing had arrived, I emailed the company. Within a half hour, they returned an email saying the crabs had shipped on Tuesday afternoon. They would arrive on Wednesday at best -- which means I would have to take another day off work. Out of curiosity, I called the company and spoke to "Harvey," who identified himself as the owner's son. He was condescending and called me "honey" repeatedly. He stressed that his was a very big business and perhaps I didn't understand that he had 600 deliveries to make that day. He told me that the crabs couldn't ship on Monday because it was Father's Day. I reminded him that Father's Day was on Sunday. He said that I was being nasty and told me that isn't the way people behave in Eastern Maryland. I wasn't being nasty. I was incredibly professional and wanted to know why the website promised Tuesday delivery and then, excuse the pun, didn't deliver. I also asked him to please stop calling me "honey." It was that last request that made him turn on me. Apparently, talking down to a woman on the phone is considered acceptable to "Harvey." My bad. I asked him what he felt a customer in my position should do. He said he had other deliveries and would mail mine soon. That completely stunned me because I had a notice from the company that the crabs had shipped! He was now lying to me! I asked him to cancel the entire order. This review won't make a difference to anyone, I know. But, it will serve as a reminder to me to choose businesses more wisely. In the past, I have had great luck with OBryckis.com. I ordered a 1/2 bushel of large crabs for Valentine's day. The crabs were light, dry and some tasted like cod liver oil. We could not get the meat out of the claws. I called to tell them I was disappointed and was told I should send the crabs back to them. Crabs that had already been eaten. After a very long, ridiculous conversation, I was told the next order I placed they would give me a free dozen with it. So, I placed another order for a dozen large and they included another dozen large. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Out of 24 crabs, there were only 5 with any weight to them. All of the others were paper thin with very little meat. We didn't have a terrible problem with the flavor, and they were not as dry, but I think they threw in every light crab they had. On top of that, a couple of the crabs were badly damaged. I can't help but feel this was their vain attempt to honor the dozen free crabs. Pack up a bunch of junk crabs. So now I will never order from them again....although, I don't really think they care. All I can say is buyer beware. read more

I ordered a dozen jumbo steamed crabs and 5 lbs of stone crabs shipped to California. Crabs were more medium to large size and they packaged them so cheaply that the legs punctured holes in the bags the ice packs were defrosted and the box smelled so bad I couldn't tell if it was just the steamed crab or the stone crabs too. I would give them a zero if I could. In their world customer is never right. They have been in the business way too long to be willing to keep their customers happy. Ordered fresh oysters from Linton's on 2/25, paid $19.95 for Next Day Ground shipping, and in the Desired Delivery date field wrote 2/27/15. I put my office as a delivery address so that I will ensure having them on a safe and cold place after being delivered. The order didn't get shipped until 2/27 in the afternoon, with delivery date of Saturday, 2/28 when the office was closed. Immediately called them to tell them about the issue, and some lady told me that they weren't able to ship anything on 2/26 because they had a snow storm(which nobody tried to get in touch with me about), and told me they will get back to me. Nobody did, so I kept calling in the following days and couldn't get a hold of them until Tuesday, 3/3/15. In the meantime, oysters weren't out for re-delivery on Monday, 3/2 and another attempt for delivery was finally made on 3/3/15 in the afternoon. At that point they were out in the mail for way too long to be safe to eat (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and half day Tuesday) so I rejected them. When a gentleman named Harvey called me on that Tuesday, he tried to assure me that he's been in the business for 40 years now and that those oysters are safe to eat, but wouldn't put in writing.They rejected the return, don't respond to my calls and to my emails and wouldn't give me my money back. read more

Made an internet purchase from two places in order to compare. Quite disappointed in this place . The packing was not good. The ice packs had completely melted. Although the other company I ordered more crabs and the ice packs were still frozen. Both orders were placed same day, same time. I ordered the same seasonings for both. This place you need to take a water pill before you eat these crabs because the SALT is killer :( I tried one crab from each company. These were mushy and salty. The weight on them were super light. Then ....THEN... there was one that was SOOO green I thought it was an uncooked one that accidentally got in the box. Guess it was that sludge cover I'd heard others speak of! :/ (oh no).
