Delicious pastries and croissants. We got milk teas with boba that were delicious and some Cherry lemonade for the kiddo. There was a line at 8am on a Monday and it just got longer as time went on. This is an adorable, cozy coffee shop that's perfect for a quick breakfast, meeting or to stay a bit and work. One morning I had a cappuccino and an apple cheese danish and the next morning, I came back for a chocolate croissant and a drip coffee. So color me surprised. On the way out of Chincoteague Island in the midst of a nor'easter we had to stop early morning before we cross the causeway to grab some coffee. This little unassuming place smelled amazing and then there were the bakery pastries. Decadent beyond belief. Their coffee was fabulous as were the peach and blueberry danish that we picked up. I wish these guys were close to me because they make Starbucks look pitiful when you do one thing and do it right - it shows. read more

Usually I prefer dark roast coffee but their house roast which I think is medium was great. They have a delicious assortment of pastries to choose from. Staff very friendly. The space is welcoming. Would definitely return when in the area. read more

The pastries looked pretty good, the croissants were huge, so I only tried coffee. The latte was okay, not super skillful in terms of foam, and the coffee was strong but tasted more burnt than I typically like. The barista was waiting to take orders and was quick. I personally think this is the best coffee spot on the island. We have had everything from straight black coffee to Thai tea to drink and all have been good. Our favorite pastries would be the peach danish and chocolate croissant, but we've sampled everything and it's all good. It's a cute shop, but gets VERY crowded in the mornings. I saw Amarin on a Yelp "Top croissants in the US" list and immediately bookmarked it, and we stopped in during our last trip to Chincoteague. This was probably the best croissant I have ever had! So flaky and giant and a delicious almond filling, without being too sweet. They sell out fast. We went in on a Sunday around 8:30 and they were already out of several items. Definitely go early if you want your pick of pastries! They have a drive thru that you can order from too, which appeared to be moving quickly. The space inside had lots of tables but wasn't air conditioned well so it was super hot. They also have a little food truck in the back where you can order breakfast sandwiches. I love the variety of options! Next time I'm waking up at 7am to come get pastries. read more

This was just a walk away from our hotel. And such an enjoyable walk as well. We came on a Saturday morning and it was pretty crowded. They have a drive thru as well. This place is in a great location, and they are open in the off season. There arent alot of options for specialty drinks (1 option) and we were there at 650 for 7am opening and they only had about 2 dozen crissionts and the lady in front of us bought 10, and there were 15 people in line behind us. I have absolutely nothing but glowing praise for these folks! People said that these are the best croissants that you'll ever have, and that very well may be true! My wife has been to Paris and still said that this was the best she has ever had. Other reviewers warn that you have to get there early before they sell out, and that is very true: we arrived just before 9am and they were sold out of plain butter croissants, and we got the last three chocolate croissants! Nice place to sit, and I appreciate that it's open at 7 am every day of the week. But the coffee itself was way too weak. I tried their regular brew one day and an Americano another, and just not enough flavor. Not really much flavor at all. As other reviewers have said, the pastries are fantastic. Tried a couple of the sweet pastries (peach, apple) and the savory Everything croissant, and all were great. A thousand times better than the terrible free breakfast served at our motel --- so much better than after Day One we bought our breakfast at Amarin instead of wasting calories on the free food. And like they also said, it's busy in the morning. But the staff moves people through very quickly. Even a line of 5-6 people inside and a couple at the drive-thru will take only a couple of minutes. One more thing. There's local art on the walls. Some of it was so bad that I thought it was done by middle schoolers in art class, but it seems it was an actual adult artist. Virtually the first thing you'll see upon arriving on Chincoteague Island, but if you're thinking that you need to search for something better and not settle for the first thing you see, you're mistaken. It has a drive-through window, but also a charming interior space and an outdoor deck with a few seats. The cafe offers Vietnamese coffee, fruit tea, and various baked goods. A food truck out back is apparently sometimes deployed for lunch, but was not in operation on my visit, sadly. I got an almond croissant and, not wanting to overload on sugar, a small honeydew melon tea. They asked me whether I wanted the fruity jelly at the bottom of my tea. Are you kidding? Who says no to that? My croissant was buttery and browned, and while the delicious almond paste in the center was worthwhile, it wasn't overly sweet and I immediately wished I'd gotten the bigger tea, particularly because honeydew melon has roughly the same effect on me as catnip on a cat. Having finished my two exceptionally delicious items, I only wished I had found out about this place sooner. read more

We have been going out to breakfast for most of our married life. (10+ yrs). If I ask her to pick the place 9 out of 10 times she says the coffee shop (Amarin). We love most all of their baked goods. Our families and extended families love it also. The staff always greet us with a smile and a little banter. Always a warm friendly place to go. Great variety of coffees and teas. Everything is delicious. When the American flag is out you know they are open. Also, their new place on the mainland serves the same delicious breakfast pastries...and has a variety of wonderful lunch sandwiches and /or egg rolls. I would recommend getting here early, I arrived later in the morning and all the baked goods were gone and they had sold out of the Vietnamese iced milk coffee. I settled on my second choice - mango slush. I was surprised the mango slush had fruit jellies at the bottom - I was excited for that since I thought it was a normal slush. Amarin is an incredibly cute coffee shop and I could certainly see myself stopping in regularly if I were an island resident. My hubby is a huge chocolate croissant lover and we stopped in just for this reason! There was a short line upon our arrival around 1045 on a Sunday, but we had driven by and seen many more people the previous day. They are efficient and have a drive through as well. The gravel lot is small, but I noticed people using a lot across the street as well. I love the patio - seating outdoors with rockers and umbrellas. There are several booths and tables inside if you wish to sit and sip, which we were happy to do. I docked one star because, at this time on the weekend, I was informed that they were out of decaf, which was a big disappointment. There was no offer of alternative options presented to me. The pastry case had several options and I noticed they were bringing out fresh pastries to restock. Service was quick and efficient with a number system used for drinks that took time to make. We had a regular drip coffee, the aforementioned chocolate croissant and a spinach pastry. The coffee was rich in flavor and they had great options at the coffee bar for condiments. The pastries were to die for! Both were MASSIVE - enough for 2 meals each - and were so flaky, crisp and buttery... everything you want in a traditional French pastry. I really enjoyed the flavor of the spinach filling in mine. Hubby's only critique would be that the sheer size required a little more chocolate filling. Half was empty and half had chocolate. I would certainly come back with a craving when back on the island to visit! read more
