So glad we decided to stop at this little taco truck! The food was awesome from start to finish. The kids loved the tacos and quesadillas, and the shrimp tacos were absolutely out of this world. In my opinion, this is the best Mexican food on the island and honestly some of the best I've had on the East Coast. A shoutout to Woody's next door too--the setup with the games, hammocks, and outdoor space made it such a fun place to hang out while everyone ate. While on a family vacay, we drove by and saw this colorful restaurant/food truck and decided to stop. The window you order from is covered and there are picnic tables and chairs outside to sit in. When we got to the window we were greeted and the staff was nice. They answered all of our questions and were patient with us. I ordered the Cajun shrimp tacos and a carne asada taco, with rice and beans. It came to $25 which felt kinda expensive. The tacos had good flavor, the carne asada was tender. I enjoyed the Cajun shrimp tacos the most. The shrimp was a good texture and tasted good. I'm not a fan of corn tortillas, so I threw those away and just ate the meat with the rice. In the town alot of restaurants and stores are in the same area within just a few minutes of each other. This food truck is right in front of the water park, so if you get lost look for the slides. This is a food truck permanently set up near some other similar enterprises, but this was clearly the busy one. An extensive vegetarian menu yielded for me some fajitas which delivered a fresh taste, came with a spicy salsa, and were quite filling. They also had some quinoa dishes. I tried to order a chocoflan and was told they were out of it; the fact that they did have a tres leches cake was framed almost as a disappointment by them. Nonetheless, I went ahead and ordered it and it was not particularly disappointing. There was a modicum of cheese in my entree but would be easy to omit for those in need. Given the finite options available on the island for those with special dietary needs, the willingness of this place to fill that niche and the quality of food they use to fill it were a big win for me. read more

Been coming to chincoteague for years and this is a new favorite spot for us! Really authentic Mexican food, I am sad we haven't come sooner. This is your real deal Mexican food, not the trendy overpriced tacos that are actually just sub par. I ordered a barbacoa and carnitas burrito and it was larger than my head and filled with rice, beans, cheese, and fresh guac. So massive I couldn't finish it (but was impressed with how far I made it). The tacos all looked really good too, especially the shrimp. We had a little family get away to this cute little town of Chincoteague Island. It was a good time, a laid back quiet, peaceful place right on the water. So the first night we stopped past this little Mexican food truck and it was good, I had a chicken Gordita with really good fresh toppings. Lol I paid four dollars for this small size or guacamole but it was actually really good. Their rice and beans were so good, the only thing I can say is that it could have been a bit more flavorful. Their salsa and guacamole seemed to have the most flavor but over all nice workers, quick service, would definitely go back and try other items. Service was pretty quick I waited about 10 to 15 minutes for everything nice place so if you're ever out on the island of Chincoteague stop past and try them out. read more

Came by here after a day at the beach and got me some tacos! Was not disappointed. I couldn't convince my family to get tacos (they grabbed food from Island Dawg next door, but both areas allow you to bring food from one and each at the other's tables, just make sure you clean up and return trays to the right place), so I had to be strategic. I got three different types so I could get a feel for all the flavors. The folks in the stand speak both English and Spanish, and they took my order in Spanish. They got the food out to me pretty quickly. I got the Barbacoa, the Carnitas, and the Cajun Shrimp. I really can't pick a favorite; they were all so good. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, plump and tender. The barbacoa and carnitas were solid and I don't think they could be any better. There are some vegetarian options, so there's something for everyone! Next time I'm back, I look forward to trying more of the menu! read more

We stopped here for 1 taco each as an appetizer before dinner. We were trying to go to as many restaurants as possible in our not long enough weekend in Chincoteague. This is a food truck. This is not a restaurant. There are no bathrooms - there usually isn't with food trucks. This is a great stop for a casual meal after a day of exploring. You order at the window and pick up on the side window. Picnic tables to sit at. DO NOT FEED THE SEAGULLS! I got the Cajun Shrimp Taco which was awesome and great presentation. My friend got the Asada (steak) Taco. We pretty much inhaled. Corn tortillas did not fall apart and there was plenty of filling including avocado, corn, salsa and cheese. They have a grab and go for Mexican sodas and waters. No alcohol - a beer would have been perfect though. Clean up when you are done. I would go back next time I am in Chincoteague. read more

Oh, and an order of rice and an order of beans. Tacos were barbacoa, carne asada and pollo. All with pico de gallo and queso fresco. The barbacoa were the best! The meat was so tender and flavorful! (We ordered the tacos with flour tortillas). Our friends totally enjoyed their burritos and I even got a taste of the sopas with barbacoa and it was so good! Visiting a family member who lives local and I was so excited to try the food here! We kept the order simple with a couple tacos and the carnitas taco was magnificent! I stopped here for dinner after spending a day biking the trails at Asseteague. I ordered horchata, a shrimp taco and a quinoa sopa. WOW to all! The horchata was just what I needed to rehydrate and boost my energy and the cinnamon and spices were stronger and more flavorful than any horchata I've had outside of MX. You can tell they make it from scratch, just like the tortillas for the sopas. The sopa was crispy and came with beans, lettuce, quinoa, queso fresco and I added salsa verde and a chili salsa on top. It was so tasty and since I don't eat meat it was really great to be able to have a filling option with protein! They have several veg options actually so def check them out if that's what you're looking for! The shrimp taco was flavorful and came with guacamole and corn, YUM! There's a bike rack if you need a place to lock up and plenty of tables with a few high tops as well. The staff were really friendly and the wait was 10-15 minutes. We ordered meat and vegetarian tostadas, an asada burrito, and the quinoa sopa. Mother-in-law loved it and said she could eat the sopa "every night." Husband said burrito was filling. Plus, the chocoflan was decadent but not too heavy. One thing to note is that seating is limited and only a few sunbrellas are available; we ended up eating in the car because it was hot and buggy. My husband got 3 Tacos- Pollo, tinga and asada. He was raving about each one! Line was long and due to Covid we had to wait 45 mins for our food but it was worth it.
