In addition found children's books for the baby (Italian, Indian and Cuban) The owner is looking out for another nationality that I would like. For business trip: Purchased a beautiful sweater type long shirt. I'll have to post at a later date, to intricate to explain. As I was preparing for my business trip, I noticed that the rest of my clothes offered no pockets. Trying to hold my phone, wallet in a bulky purse would have been uncomfortable. I remembered that they had a flat purse that can be situated under my business clothes "who's gonna know" . In addition I bought an RFID flat wallet. The bag could also fit my Epi-Pen and meds. This is an amazing store and small business! It is a bit small but it does the job right. INSIDE -- My friend and I visited last Sunday, 18 August 2019. We spent a good 35 minutes looking around. I wasn't planning on buying anything but I got a small birthday card for another friend. My friend had a $25 gift card so she used that to buy perfume and something else (a top I think). They sell women's clothing, a few men's clothing, gift items, cards, Birkenstock shoes, and other things. FAIR TRADE GOODS -- I really love that many items you will find in this store are made from individuals who live abroad. I loved these Turkish lamps that they sell. The lamps are very colourful and have a stained glass looking design. SERVICE -- Customer service was wonderful. There were 3 women inside when my friend and I visited and they asked if we needed help. They were all very nice. TIP -- The debit/credit card limit is about $10 if I can remember correctly. I would love to visit again. Their store hours are limited. I love this funky shop in Lakewood! It's one of those places that makes Lakewood such a great place to live and shop. The Dolatowskis, who own the shop, and live in Lakewood, a great down-to-earth folks and their shop is reminiscent of the same feel. I have been shopping here since they opened in 1996. Tina and Michael are wonderful owners and great contributors to the community. The best place anywhere to buy Birkenstocks or jewelry plus fun gifts and unique apparel. The staff is always friendly and eager to help, guiding me towards great purchases numerous times. As we navigate this pandemic, they are doing everything they can to keep their customers and staff safe including sanitizing every item a customer touches. I've been in other stores that tell you not to touch anything you don't intend on buying; this is a wonderful accommodation for their customers despite putting a bit more on the staff's plate. What a pleasant surprise this store was. After stopping in the Root Café, I wandered in here, as I'm a sucker for anything art-oriented and tie-dye. I was immediately drawn in by their colorful women's wear selection, where they have a fun selection of tunics, dresses and skirts. It's a very lovely place to pick up a unique piece of clothing in diverse sizes. They also have an interesting handmade selection of accessories and other small gifts. I also adored the Buddha knick-knacks that were everywhere... lord knows we all need a little more zen in our lives. The store is beautifully organized and immediately projects happy. I only had a few minutes left on my meter, and as I was at the register, there seemed to be confusion about checking me out (everything is done by hand) and it just moved very slow. I ended up just telling the gal to shove my stuff in a bag and I booked it, because I couldn't afford a cha-ching ticket from my friends the Lakewood Police. I am so glad Lion and Blue stayed open for pickup during the shutdown. I was able to purchase brightly colored facemasks/hair bands with ease and at a fair price. Since the store's reopening I stopped in to browse and was thankful they were doing everything possible to protect customers and staff. If you have not stopped into this store right on Detroit road, you definitely need to! My dad has been coming to the owner Michael for years to get his jewelry and he has never steered us wrong. While he has clothes, figurines, incense, and jewelry in store that you can just take right away. He also is your man for high end jewelry. He created my sisters wedding ring, necklaces for my mom, re sized rings, and many diamond birthday presents! If he can't do it no other jeweler can. I received a lot of assistance from both ladies who worked that day; they were helpful and knowledgeable. I just bought my mom her Christmas present from here! I LOVE this place! It is so unique and charming.. I'm not quite sure why Lion & Blue is listed as a shoe store. It does have a selection of Birk's in the back, but their array of unique jewelry, clothes and other trinketts is great. I often visit to find a special, inexpensive gift and end up leaving with several things for myself too (it's kind of a bad habit of mine with many places tho). Kay who works there is a cool lady and always remembers my boyfriend and I. Speaking of my boyfriend, I know that he stops in often to get me a little surprise, and I always love what he brings home. Love this place!! They have a great selection of incense, candles, wall décor, statues, clothing, jewelry, you name it. Its a small place, but I spent about 30 minutes just walking around and looking at everything- the place it filled to the brim with awesome stuff. I picked up a beautiful tank top (for a very reasonable price) and a wellness candle, but wanted to take home everything in the store. They had the most beautiful embroidered yoga mat bag that I am currently coveting- I hope its still there next time I visit! For being such a small store, the place was really busy when I stopped in. A testament to how popular it is I guess! The two employees were extremely friendly and attentive, but not at all overbearing. One employee noticed that my hands were getting full and offered to set my stuff behind the counter so I could continue shopping- very nice. My husband got me a hooded alpaca sweater here for my birthday. I felt I could go with the next size up and took it in for an exchange. I had never been to the shop, and loved the good vibes and the people working there were very welcoming and friendly. I was visiting Cleveland and was excited to make a stop at Lion and Blue as I love all their unique products. On this particular occasion, I was quite disappointed, and quite frankly, pissed off! I walked in and was immediately greeted and told about the sale on the clothes. I picked up a sweater, read the label to see what it was made of as I did not want wool. I asked the young sales associate what "Viscose" was, and she replied that she didn't know. I asked her if she could find out, and she replied that she couldn't and proceeded to ASK ME IF I HAD A SMARTPHONE AND I COULD LOOK IT UP. Seriously! I was dumbfounded. Never have I had such rude and inconsiderate response from a sales person. Needless to say, I walked out empty handed, saying loudly that I would not be returning.... Ever. I thought I had found an interesting neighborhood shop where I could enjoy shopping .I found unique and inspiring items, crystals, oils , clothing and jewelry all p ermeating incense and candles reminiscent of boutiques and shops of another era .Within the first two weeks as a happy customer I dropped approx $ 200.00, and had a custom ring on order as the owner is also a jewler.I thought it a great little shop ..everything smooth until March 12 2015 when I went there with my husband ,my 13 year daughter and her friend. I was standing in line conversing with a pleasant sales associate named Terri who was answering my question about an item made of quartz that my daughter picked out and I was purchasing when another sales associate an older woman with long straight blonde hair with a hard lean drawn look of a tired cowboy dressed in southwestern style denim and turquoise jewlery was ringing out another o customer when she abruptly , rudely.and basically told Terry to stop talking to me .Wow so much for customer service !.Terry in her own defense explained she was "writing" as she was tallying my invoice of over $100 in purchases .Shocked at the older woman's obnoxious bullying of the younger sales associate I quietly asked Terri if she was being "chastised " when the older blonde still ringing out another customer brazenly retorted with strong sarcasm "No shes not being chastized ! I then quietly asked Terri if the older woman was the owner and again the older woman brazenly answered for Terri with her hand on her hip abd in an openly challanging manner " No I'm not the owner ..would you like to speak with the owner ? I as a paying customer had been deemed unworthy of curteous conversation with the sales associate tallying up my purchases by another sales associate who instead of bullying and undermining her peer and me a paying customer should have herself been engaged in curteous conversation with the customer she was ringing out .I as a paying customer was publicly humiliated , insulted and mistreated Why wouldn't I want to speak with the owner ? I did voice my complaint to the owner before I left the store who assured me the bullying blonde would be "talked to" ..yet I as a paying customer recieved no incentive to return to Lion and Blue .I think I should have recieved a gift certificate , money off my bill or even a pair of socks in an attempt to keep a customer to compensate for obnoxious and rude mistreatment by Lion and Blue staff whose name I don't know but who anyone can recognize as The old blonde cowboy looking woman behind the counter at Lion and Blue lakewood.Because of her I wont be shopping at Lion and Blue anymore. I refuse to pay to be abused. If I wanted to be yelled at by an obnoxious old blonde I'd go to The Ugly Broad Saloon on Dennison Ave In Cleveland. Apparently the owners of Lion and Blue don't feel the need to keep customers coming back . Too bad .poor public relations can ruin a business .Good bye Lion and Blue , I'm so through with you. I had my wedding ring fixed here and it looks better than it did when it was new. The store has a lot of neat little gifts that you don't see in most places. I bought a little key chain that has a leather turtle on it and my sister went crazy over it. I had to go back and get another one. They also have recycled products that are now art such as oil barrel lids that were pounded out to make really cool wall art.
