I kept seeing reels on my Instagram about this Ohio City thrift shop. I knew we had to make a stop here. There is so much to look at and it a little over stimulating but in a good way. You can walk through a refrigerator, into another room, and slide down a slide into the basement. There are different vendors throughout the entire shop. Highly recommend for a little quirky spot, just make sure you plan on spending a bunch of time there if you want to sift through the clothes and other goodies, as there is so much to look at, but in such a fun space.

This is what my aunt would call a nifty store. I first saw a glimpse on someone's instagram and then I bookmarked on Yelp. I loved the first/only reviewer calling it whimsical. It opens at noon Tues-Sunday and the first time I was in the area couldn't wait around that long. The next time, well, we had time. It's a very large space and there is a lot to see. I loved the open fridge door leading to another room. There are stairs leading downstairs, but you can also use the slide in a different back room. Even the lower level has several rooms and a lot of retro clothing, etc. I would recommend going and giving yourself time to browse. It is a bit overpriced, but then it is vintage.

Ok... this place popped up on my insta and it looked like a fun place to kill some time with family visiting. Many of us have lived through the decades on display in this shop and the nostalgia was a lot of fun! The spaces are all very well curated and there were some fun surprises. I am not sharing our slide videos but it's definitely a good time. There's a unique selection of vintage and antique finds. Unfortunately, the prices are very high even for vintage items. So it might be a good place if you are looking for something very specific or a splurge. But it's probably not a good place for bargains. I can't say anything about service because we didn't buy anything but I don't recall being greeted or acknowledged.

A neat store to check out and take the family to see. My girlfriend's daughter really loved the hidden room and slide. A must see for anyone in the area.

Such a fun and whimsical vintage store! Definitely the biggest secondhand store I've been to in Cleveland, with two stories complete with a slide. They have everything from knick knacks for the home to furniture to real vintage clothing. Definitely worth checking out!!

In its current state, Flower Child is walking into a retro basement that has decades of treasure! LAYOUT/INVENTORY: The store has two levels with multiple rooms of treasure. Both levels have similar merchandise - home goods, kitchen tools, some furniture, abundance of accessories, clothing, vinyls, and some interesting international decor. Just when you think you ran out of rooms, there are more rooms of treasure to browse. I especially loved the basement. Every room is a treasure hunt! If you wear petite sizes, this is a treasure trove of vintage clothing. You'll find tees, dresses, sweaters, and pants. The clothing is casual and functional. Check out all the clothing rooms on the main level and basement. VALUE: The discounts on merchandise of 70% is a great value. However, the initial prices are quite high considering the quality. Some of the clothing and items are very well loved. I don't see myself paying full prices for the items to be extremely honest. SERVICE: The staff was very nice to customers during checkout. There was a lot of excitement about the upcoming store move. They staff was always very busy. Personally, I wanted to ask about the pricing for a folk pin I was eyeing. There was no one to ask so I eventually gave up. I'm sure the service is more attentive during the regular days. PARKING: I was surprised to find a pretty large parking lot at the back of the building considering the location is in Lakewood. Amazing if you're carrying home a lot of treasure. I would recommend Flower Child to guests who enjoy digging for treasure. You definitely need maybe an hour to focus on each room without getting overwhelmed. I look forward to checking out the layout of a new store!

It's such a nostalgic loire with mid-century modern treasures between 1920 and 1980. I've now visited a few times and really loved my time here. It also has been recognized for being one of the best thrift shops in Ohio. I can see why! AMBIANCE/MERCH: The store occupies 10,000 square feet space on Lorain. It's a neighborhood well known for thrift to the extent that you can have your own crawl. Sweet Lorain has the main space, back space, and furniture room. The main space mostly contains old newspapers, vinyls, jewelry, and home decor. The furniture room has furniture and nostalgic toys. The back room is the treasure chest. You'll find global treasures, Ohio decor, Christmas decor, furs, clothing, luggage, hats, and never ending inventory of whatever you brain may dream up. Some inventory even indicates the era. The inventory pricing widely varies from a few cents to the thousands. Be ready to go on an archeological dig, there is an overwhelming amount of inventory and unique finds. I am a very picky thrifter, and even I can find things to light up about. I love the assortment of furs at Sweet Lorain. There are so many racks of fur coats, boxes upon boxes of muftas, stoles, and hats. There is a fabulous collection of feathered hats (let's bring this fashion back)! There are also a million other things to love. SERVICE: The service is pretty friendly, the owner and the employee always ask if you want help. I most impressed that the owner knows absolutely everything he carries in his enormous inventory. Just ask, and he'll tell you. PARKING: Small, gated parking lot is available onsite. You can also find plenty of street parking. SELL: This place allows you to sell your treasures. Make an appointment in advance. I plan to be back very soon to dig for formal accessories - shoes and clutches. If you have a formal occasion, venture out here. You'll find so many shoes, clutches, formal dresses, and everything in between. It's perfect destination for holiday outfit shopping and everything in between.

I really enjoy browsing through the stalls, some have a clear theme and are consistent, others have a true hodgepodge of items so that you have to take your time looking at what is available. Even though most of the items are not what I am interested in, I always find some items that I am interested in and a larger amount that are fun to see. Pricing is moderate with a wide range from a bit high to some real values. You might also find selected stalls where some or all of theitems are discounted. On one item I wanted the staff was able to contact the seller and I negotiated a lower price. Although I usually hit the thrift stores looking for bargains I do enjoy an occasional visit to Antiques & Uniques to see what is available. I have purchased a really nice Inuit stone carving and have my eye on a really nice Asian wooden mask. Even if you don't find anything to buy this is a fun place to wander around and see what catches your eye. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I also appreciate that you have the ability to just walk around at your own pace and see what is there. I was most drawn to the furs and lingerie-type dresses at this shop. Oh, and men's shoes, so many of them! Prices start at $3 in the sales bucket. I saw reasonably priced dresses well under $15. SERVICE: The store staff all welcomed me in. It was a very pleasant experience. I also witnessed them engaging in friendly conversations with other customers. I did not purchase anything due to the store carrying a very limited plus size inventory. It's a well set expectation at most thrift and vintage shops due to procurement difficulties. There were probably five pieces labeled XXL that looked smaller than their size. I wear between XXL and 3X, so they just wouldn't work for my body type. Nonetheless, I was impressed with the selection of purses and will continue checking out this store for those items.
