There is a water pump when it warmed up (AND A WASHROOM SO YOU HAVE TO REASON TO EVER LEAVE...LOL) There are two sides to this park one for larger dogs and one for dogs up to 35 lbs. This definitely helps deter a lot of unforeseen problems that could occur. Grass is very well maintained they have a third side they switch off too to keep grass from becoming a mud hole. There's also some marked interior trails that are gravel or limestone that seem to go closer to the river. I do not travel those, I would imagine that would produce a lot more bugs. Apparently I have desirable blood, if you're a bug. So, Im not looking to get bit up by insects, so I stay on the main paths. Still have multiple shelters, and plenty of parking at each shelter, & there's grills, there's picnic tables. The dog park is still at Black Road, & and appears to be utilized regularly. Sometimes I'll walk all the way down from Black Road and the trail goes downhill as you get closer to 52/Jefferson and if you continue on it, the path goes underneath 52 and dumps out right behind the bar called Crowd Around Me. Multiple bathrooms along the way, there's semi kept up. I wouldn't say they're super clean but it's an outdoor bathroom. I'll give them this much credit, they are cleaned often enough that they aren't disgusting, and there's usually paper in there. Nice place to walk/bike/E bike/run. Or even gather some folks and have a picnic. Its usually pretty quiet in there. Little more crowded on the weekend, but that's understandable. Worth traveling through. And like I say a good place for exercise.

There's quite a lot of dog poop on the trails so watch. A lot of dog owners come here. It isn't strictly a dog park but it's very friendly for them. There's lots of features including drinking fountains and poop bags if there's any left, which often there aren't so it's advised to bring some bags with you. Also there's trash cans for these bags. The bad thing about this park is you need a permit. Grills are available for cooking. It also has a pavilion. The DuPage River is good for kayaking and wading.

I complained as it was basically statically impossible to play as little as she did compared to the other kids especially the coaches daughter. They had 10 people with 7 positions yet somehow my kid sat the bench at the start of every quarter and played less than 50% of the game. All while the coaches daughter played the whole game. I confronted him about it and that guy actually told me that he doesnt believe in fair play and that because his kid puts more effort into practice that she deserves to play more then everyone else. I know hes a volunteer but these are 7 year olds that are in first and second grade. The director of the soccer department did nothing about this coach. Everyone develops differently but that is far to young to punish a kid for not knowing how to play the game perfectly. Bottom line, Hopefully your lucky and you dont get a coach like this, or you get lucky and the coach doesnt single out your child in a method of social bullying. Because, the Channahon Park District will do nothing to help you in this situation. That Coach shouldnt ever be allowed to coach anyone less then 4th grade. That Coach is going to be the reason why so many young kids turn away from soccer.

Braidwood Dunes is a natural area on the edge of this little town that makes a good walk for…read moreawhile. It isn't that long to get around, so it's good for those with only about an hour. Pretty much nothing much is happening around here, but it's all just nature. Check out the grassland and forest. The preserve is much bigger than just the part with a trail. An important thing is knowing where the trail goes. It only loops around a small area of the preserve. There's a lot more than just this. For the part with the trail, it starts off in the parking lot. This is just a small lot with dirt and gravel, so it's not a big attraction around here if that wasn't already obvious. Also this preserve is close to peoples' homes. You can hear them while on the trails and think there's someone else walking these, but they're actually just residents. Be careful to not go too far off or you'll be in someone's backyard. There's also a pond but this is too far off the trail to get to from here. Good place to look around maybe an hour if even. It's a good chance you'll be the only one here. There's people in town who don't even know about it, so it's a well preserved nature preserve.

Prior…read moreto him starting there, we had lost him over the 4th of July for 5 nights and when we found him he was unharmed but scared of a lot of things he was never scared of before. Back then, the staff were so friendly and supportive of him and helped him get over his fears. The staff today are still incredible and Griswold has the best time when he's there! It's by far his favorite place on the planet! Whether he's going for day care or just to chase balls at the park, he is his happiest self when he's at wags! We are grateful for such a fun, safe, and clean place to bring him all year round. He's able to socialize with other pups and burn some energy, which we appreciate a lot! I cannot recommend Wag n Paddle highly enough!!!

Frankfort IS a hell of a lot more appealing since this park is there though. $50 and proof of your pup's shots gets you a year long membership. Included in that is private access to a massive enclosure that's all soft grass. There's shaded areas, free poop bags, and a time out section if your dog gets a little too excited to be frolicking out in the sun. It's honestly my dog's favorite place to play, and I don't even mind driving about 45 minutes from the city to do so.

Has about 5 miles of trails and recently they have added on off leash area for dogs, with plenty of room to run and play. The park itself is not as big as other forest preserves, but still big enough to be secluded and peaceful. The winding trails take you through heavily wooded areas and prarie areas... I come hear a lot to explore with my dog and go on walks with my fiance. Its nice!
