Theres plenty of farmers markets and such, but really no good options for flea markets. This old 290 market is the best they have within the actual Austin area. You'll find normal vendors, but not many drive-in sellers bringing stuff from home to sell. You can get food here also. It's self-sufficient and no frills if you would like to walk around on a weekend.

While I didn't see anything I needed to bring home with me, there's a reasonable selection of clothes, household goods, small appliances, kid's toys, etc; all the usual suspects. It's fairly clean and relatively well organized, clearly tagged, and decently priced. I certainly feel better supporting them than Goodwill.

BUT the staff is always friendly, there is plenty to browse through, the aisles and merchandise have always been organized and clean when I go, and the pricing is definitely good. You can't really ask for more than that. If you enjoy shopping secondhand, make the drive to this location. Typically there are sales on certain items so make sure you pay attention to that to get more bang for your buck. On my most recent trip here, I bought 3 items and spent less than $20. I need to expand the business casual selection in my closet so I will probably take another trip here, probably in the fall when the selection should definitely skew to warmer clothing.
