Travelled to Scottsdale, AZ for a girls trip for 13 and we wanted to do a fun activity. This was it! We had the whole store to ourselves and the Lip Lab team were awesome. We chose the standard private party package which included creating a custom color lipstick, lip gloss or cheek stick plus picked a pre-made item. We also got a Lip Lab makeup bag and a lip scrub or lip primer. Prices were great too. The atmosphere was a vibe and service was excellent. We had an absolute great time. I love that my custom shade is in their system so I can order it again in the future. Definitely check them out in your closest location. Wonderful experience.
Had a great experience here with my mom! We were both looking to recreate a discontinued lipstick, and we got as close to the color as we could. I thought it was fun to test out the different mixtures and try them on to see how it looked. The customization down to the color of the tube and the engraving on the top was an added special touch. I would definitely come back here with a friend, and would want to make a lip gloss or lip balm next time!
Tessa was so sweet. She said she's been there for 2 years and really enjoys working there. We had an appointment set up at noon but got there at 11, asked if we could move up the appointment but they were already booked up. Definitely recommend making an appointment. We made a few different things. I made a lip gloss and a sheer lipstick. My kiddo made a cheek stick and a lipstick. We had a great time. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to make custom cosmetics. You can choose the case for your product, get it engraved, and they save your product formula so you can reorder it. It's also nice they don't book so many people that you're squished next to a bunch of people. Everyone is spread out, they have purse hooks under the counter, and it's very clean in there. Bottom line: this place is a great experience to go to with your makeup obsessed baddies. I definitely want to go back and get more products made. Yassss.
5.10.25: Came here for a friends bday. The staff were all pleasant & patient as they assisted us with creating our own lip color shades. It's pretty pricy so not something i'd do on a whim but it was fun for a one time celebration. My personalized lip stick color was nice. You get to pick the color of the lip stick tube, the scent (I chose mint) & they engrave any name you decide to call your lipstick. Cute experience overall but again, pretty pricy w/ total being $75.24 (before tip).

They took us a little earlier than scheduled and walked us through the process. I truly enjoyed. the process and finalizing a cute lip color! I will definitely come back with a group of friends for a girls date again!
I saw this business floating around my TikTok For You page. I bookmarked it and forgot about it. My husband offered to treat me out for my birthday this year and I was reminded about Lip Lab. I booked myself for their earliest time slot, 10AM, and was immediately checked in and sat down with a consultant, Nathalie. Nathalie was so friendly and knowledgeable about the whole process. She offered to make multiple swatches and colors for me to try. I ultimately chose a sheet lipstick and gloss. She made it all in front of me and explained every step of the process. I ended up with a beautiful, sheer pink lipstick and a glossy, light brown gloss! It was an easy, beautiful process. I highly recommend this as a birthday, date night, or friends night out activity!
Super fun activity. You and your group are seated at the lip bar. You select what type of end product you want such as lipstick or gloss (I chose gloss because of the Arizona heat) and start giving your tech a color profile. You keep trying shades until it is perfect and the make your formula and custom package it. You even get an engraved name!!!
My girlfriends and I had an amazing time at the lip bar in SQ. Our appointment was on time, and we were seated in a unique U-shape bar with glow mirrors. The cutest lab assistants I've ever seen were there too! With a wave of their magic wand, one of them created a lip balm with the perfect shade and color for me. It was a beautiful pink with a subtle brown tint. I absolutely loved it! Although my experience was quick, some people have longer experiences. Now, I have three more colors I'm excited to try!
You meet with a consultant and she customizes a color to match your style, skin tone and preferences. You can get several different forms of lipstick (matte, sheer etc) and gloss. You will try on a customized shade and the consultation will reformualate it until you're satisfied with the color. A complimentary gloss is discounted and is also custom made. Your lipstick case is laser engraved with a name and emoji you choose. Such a fun experience. It was supposed to take an hour but we were chatty and took 90 minutes for 2 of us and never felt rushed.
I visited this location for a mother/daughter date where we made our own lip products (lipstick, lip balm, and lip gloss). At first, I was worried the ingredients would be cheap, but I was wrong! The lipstick turned out great - I was able to recreate my favorite lipstick, maybe even make it better. I had so much fun that I also made a balm and gloss as well. You can even reorder your custom mixes and get them shipped. Plus, you can create as many different colors as you want. I can't wait to go back and make more!
I wasn't sure what to think when I heard about this but ended up having a great time!! Our artist / stylist was fantastic! She came up with a beautiful natural shade for me that I can use as an every day hydrating balm - I'm so excited to use it! They will also make you fun colors if you want!! I will definitely go again!
Based on the whole experience, since I went with a group of friends for a birthday, I would give 4 stars but because of own personal experience and the associate that worked with us, I would give Lip Lab 5 stars. At first, I actually felt a bit intimidated because I'm not a big makeup person, let alone a lip product person. The associate was great and demonstrated early and quickly his knowledge of color and his expertise of knowing what looks good on people. Throughout the experience, they did a good job of explaining everything and breaking the experience down into digestible steps. There are different product bundles you can choose from. The products are 3 different kind of lipsticks (satin/sheer/I don't remember), lip gloss, and lip tint. You can make just one item or choose a bundle (2-3 items) all at varying prices. After you select your product, you can select whether you want shimmer and a scent. From there, they have different categories of shades like nudes/your natural nude/bold, etc. You discuss what you are looking for/what you want. If you have no idea (hello, that's me), you can share things like what you're comfortable with, what you wear, etc. and they can start building different formulas for you to try. You have your own individual mirror with a light so you can take a good look and make adjustments. I was only going to buy a gloss in a complementary shade of nude but ended up with a "bold" for me lip tint that I really actually love. It was an educational experience so I felt like I learned something and got something in the end to show for it. Once you make all of your decisions, they make the product. You can choose the color of your vessel and you get to name it and they laser it to the cap. Very cool and fun experience. If you want to have color but not constantly feel something on your lips, the formulas are great here. If you repurchase your formula in the future, you get a discount. You can repurchase your formula in store or online because they save the formulas to your profile. Great for a small group of girlfriends/birthday gathering. I wouldn't bring a big party because you're sitting in a long line and can't necessarily socialize with the entire party. I would recommend groups of 3-5.
I knew when I was planning my 30th birthday trip to Scottsdale I wanted to make sure I stopped in Lip Lab & I am SO happy that I did. I wasn't sure what color I was exactly looking for, but felt like my beauty consultant really helped me nail the my lips but better trend. She even helped me find a perfect coordinating lip liner that I'm obsessed with. She didn't mind making minor adjustments to the formula and ensuring it was perfect. The entire process was seamless and I am obsessed with the color & the fact it will never be discontinued! I cannot recommend this experience enough--it would be super fun for a bachelorette or birthday party as well

What a fun experience we had last night. We got to make our own lipstick or gloss in the color we liked and even got to add a fragrance if we wanted. It was neat to see how they make the gloss or lipstick. We also got to pick out the color of our case, a saying and emoji's. The girls that helped were so cute and helpful. One of the girls had the most beautiful eyes. It is not an inexpensive experience but we thought it was worth the money. They said the lipstick should last up to a year. That would be great. read more
This is the ultimate girls day experience!! My 19 year old, booked us an apt here and we loved it! The ladies were so kind and knowledgeable about all the colors, shades, textures etc. They have sooo much to choose from, that this experience felt so custom! The music was great, the vibes were so positive and overall we really had so much fun playing around with make up! I will definately be back to choose a bridal lipstick! read more

My mom and I visited Lip Lab this past weekend as part of our Mother's Day celebration. I was able to nab a reservation for Mother's Day by booking a few weeks in advance. Checking in was seamless and we only had to wait about five minutes before things got rolling. We were helped by Tessa who was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. We were given a rundown of the process, but there was also a helpful guide/roadmap that we referenced throughout the process. I liked that they had different products that we could choose from. Further, they had different sheens of lipstick we could select from as well. Going into it, I was planning on doing a tinted lip balm since I don't really wear makeup, but I opted for a sheer lipstick instead. You get to customize literally every detail of your product, even down to the scent and name of it. We thought this was a really fun experience and we will definitely return in the future! read more

Saw an ad for this spot on Instagram and instantly wanted to experience it! You get to create your own custom lipsticks. I decided to treat myself for my birthday. Matt, my lipstick specialist, was AWESOME. He was friendly, fun and very knowledgeable. He knows what he is doing and it showed. First, you get to select your finish to choose from ranging from lip balm to gloss to a matte, satin or sheer finish. You think can choose the tone of your lipstick (neutral, bold, wild, etc) then the fun part begins choosing your color. The specialist will add depending on what you want, do you want it darker? Brighter? They got you! They can even add a shine to your lipstick. Next, you can add a fragrance to your lipstick. I chose mango (smelled so good)) You then choose the name for your lipstick and even choose from a selection of fonts and/or symbols to add. Finally, you get to choose your lipstick container. Once that is all situated, they apply the name, font style and any symbol to the lipstick container. The packaging is super cute. Some may argue that the lipstick is too expensive but you are paying for the experience, the customization and to me it's totally worth it! You can also create a profile for your lipstick so that if you want a refill, they have the info and a discount is applied on refills. Love, loved this experience!! read more
We had the best time creating our lip glosses! The lab creator was amazing. She was so nice so attentive and very knowledgeable but he was absolutely so much fun. You have to try it for yourself. I was so excited to have this experience and decided to go for my birthday. The space is super cute but not the most comfortable, especially if you're short like me and don't like bar height stools. Even with that it was my birthday so I was determined to have a good time. Sadly the young lady Morgan that helped us was not very friendly or enthusiastic. At times I feel she was actually rude. That being said I think the product is nice , I made a lip stick and lip gloss. One a high note two of my guest were helped my Damara (I hope I'm spelling that correctly). She was awesome and she even helped me some on deciding a color and she wished me a happy birthday. She was upbeat, helpful and friendly. I recommend having this experience but the person assisting can make or break the moment. read more

I really enjoyed it here!! I took my sister for a bridal gift and we had a great helper when finding our shades. She was helpful and never minded us asking her to adjust the shade for us. The products are a bit pricey, but for experience and customized shade, I found it worth it. There are also bundle options where you can get your second item for cheaper. Overall, really neat experience and you can even reorder your shade online! Which is so cool. read more
Phenomenal! If you are on the fence, just book the appt. My friend and I decided to have a girls day. We had lunch nearby and made it to our 2:30pm appt. We walked in, they sat us almost immediately. Our person was Sophia. She was AMAZING! She dealt with me not being able to make my mind up with the colors but eventually mixed me 2 perfect colors. She did the same for my friend. All of our colors look great and just what we were looking for. You even get to name your lipsticks! They do the whole process right in front of you which is really fun and cool to see it done. We will absolutely be back, we had the best time. Sophia was also super friendly and joined in our banter and jokes. She was absolutely wonderful. read more
I love a good lipstick and thought it would be a unique experience to make my own customized color so I was excited when I found out about Lip Lab in Scottsdale! It wasn't difficult to secure an appointment and my party and I were all given adequate time and attention to select the type of gloss or lipstick we desired. I really liked that we could choose a custom name for our product and they engraved it for it us. This was a great place to capture good photos as well. read more
