We ordered a singing telegram for a friend's surprise 60th birthday. From start to finish Lip Service was wonderful to work with! The organization on the office side was exceptional and Chris, our singing lobster, was a huge hit at the celebration! Because it was a surprise party, and the telegram was a surprise as well, Chris had to coordinate his arrival time very carefully with me, which I really appreciated. Would 100% use them again - a really outstanding experience! And the birthday girl loved the clever personalized lyrics!

This review is long overdue! Hired them back in 2022 for an engagement proposal singing telegram. This company is amazing. You pick the outfit and the song and they send you someone. The camera guy is someone else contracted with the company. It is easy to sign up on their website, pay and add-on services like guitar accommodation or video recording. Also they do confirm all details in email and then send you a link of rhe video within 24 hours, if you paid for that service. It was awesome. I highly recommend using their services! read more

Moriah was prompt and patient - answered my questions and helped guide the process and what we arranged. Book!!! You will not regret it! We were celebrating my husband and although I didn't have exact lyrics they were able to customize a few songs with a couple of sentences I gave them. Had Philip as Frank Sinatra provide a special birthday wish for my mom tonight at the Red Fox. He was fantastic. Really looks like the young Sinatra and the suit and fedora were perfect. He has a great voice and sang Fly me to the Moon and even got my mom up to dance with him while he sang. Tonight was her 80th birthday and she talked about how fun it was for the rest of the evening. The company I work for has used LSST twice now and both experiences were 5 star! The first time contacting them we had ample lead time and had them create a custom song (which was a giant hit at our office (for an Executive member's b-day). The second time was a last min (same day) request and even though we didn't ask for custom lyrics given the time constraint, they still customized it to fit the recipient. They are professional, quick to respond, easy to work with and very reasonably priced, even when paying the rush and out of area service fees. I work with people/clients that have everything they need and/or we don't know well, but still need to make an impression and this hits the mark. Our company is VERY picking about marketing, presentation and value, so we're not going to love something just because it's gimmicky. I was initially worried a singing telegram would be too tacky or cheesy of a gift, but they are not half assing their service. We surprised our Pastor after service today for his 60th birthday. He was completely blown away. He loves Show tunes so we tweaked the lyrics of "Tonight" from West Side Story". Lip Service is such an awesome gift for your loved one! I wanted to do something special for my mom's 70th birthday. Since she lost my dad to cancer in 2016, she has lost her joy and threw herself into the business she and my dad built since 1993, running it solo since. She has been struggling. Then I came up with the idea of a singing telegram. I live in Virginia so I did my homework on Google and Yelp and read all the reviews. LSST had the best recommendations - and I whole heartedly agree. I sent a request 3 days prior to the big day and Moriah got it done! I requested a performer in a chicken costume to sing "birthday" by the Beatles. My mom loved it! Not only her, but her workers, all the clients as well as the random passersby that stop for the performance. She called me laughing with so much joy and said it was the best gift. Our seats were in the balcony level way above. At this level it is a little diffcult to see the stage as you have to angle your head down wards to see the stage. Viewable but its very far. The seats are very tiny and it difficult to walk across as every inch is used up in the theatre. Acoustic were great and the overall detail and restoration is amazing to look at. Great theatre venue overall but would recommend not sitting in balcony.

As always with the Civic, the getting out of the theater is always terrible to try to get to the parking lot the elevators always packed and then you figure out the people are going up a flight of stairs and getting on to the elevator up above so you have no chance from being in ground level and getting on to them and then you get into the parking structure and finding your car and waiting to get out but just the initial getting out of the theater and having to walk up all the stairs to your parking level then the smell of urine throughout the stairwell is always lovely. I'm a native San Diegan and have been coming to the theater as long as I can remember and they need to have a new theater somewhere away from downtown to have events the downtown experience is terrible the homeless situation is terrible the urine situation is terrible it's time to move the Civic. And also don't allow people to bring food into the theater it's not a movie.

We honestly didn't get much time inside the theater itself; the panel was an hour long, and they ran a tight ship. But, I will say that I loved the feel of the space. It's a smaller, more intimate theater than some of the other performance spaces downtown, and it doesn't seem like they have a "bad seat" in the house, just based on the layout. The acoustics were good so that we were able to hear all the women on the panel, even if they weren't so good at using the microphones. The seats were comfortable, and there was enough leg room for people to scoot by to seats in the middle of the row without having to step, trip or stumble over those who were already seated. All in all, I liked the space a lot, and am now trying to figure out when we can visit for an actual performance (not that I didn't love the panel, but theaters are made for performing arts, and I so want to see a show here!)

We were searching for a play and we came across "39 steps", a film directed by Alfred Hitchcock originally written by John Buchan. It was a melodrama about spies but this play was a spoof of the original. We went to the box office and inquired about tickets (this was 15 minutes before the show), I asked for the best least expensive seats in the house. After a few minutes of searching the gentleman behind the counter came up with row J, seats 113 and 114. We went in the theater and noticed the small lobby (cozy with beverage and snacks). We took our seats which was second to the last row and it was in the middle. All I can say is that there aren't any bad seats in the house and I was pleasantly surprised. The place is dated but it does its purpose, to deliver a night out with family and friends. It is a no frills establishment. No kiosks selling programs, souvenirs, or binocular rentals. You go in purchase your wine or coffee and you are set. I am definitely coming back for date night.

The last play I saw was Viet Gone, and the first play since COVID was The Great Khan which I got a pleasure to attend. If you enjoy performing arts, come and see it for yourself. I wish I could take some shots during the performance, but it was strictly prohibited. The facility was designed very unique, you get to walk down and even further deeper down to reach the main stage, yet everything else got pretty well maintained except for the construction next door right now, I really don't know what they're going to do with the old Horton Plaza, although it was dearly missed. Parking was easy, some meters are expired after 6 PM, if you don't mind walking a few blocks like me, some expired at 8 PM, then you might have to put in a few bucks, but that's downtown for you, I think everyone else would rather pay valet and enjoy their sit down during the show, am I right?

Well, now. I used Lip Service twice. And it was great! The first time, we were having a retirement luncheon at Nick's at the Pier in Ocean Beach. Lip Service sent a guy over dressed up as a keystone cop and he sang Toby Keith's song, "Beer for my horses!". I won't say which employer this was for. But everyone there was in some way connected with law enforcement. And that was a great "law enforcement" song...... He even got the audience singing too. It was very tastefully done, and I was so impressed at the service, that I decided to hire Lip Service again. So that second time came around when the American Legion held a really big conference (a Southern California Chili Cookoff in Brawley, CA). Lip Service sent a very talented actor out all the way to Brawley! He paraded through the Chili Cookoff dressed as a 6-Foot Lobster, and he sang "Row, Row, Row Your Boat". It was hilarious! At the time, I was running a membership recruiting competition with another Legionnaire up in Newport. The loser had to ROW A BOAT out to a bouy in the harbor and back. And no one will ever forget the 6-foot, singing lobster. We do a family atmosphere at Legion events, and Lip Service was loved by all the kids! The price is right for what they provide. And you can't go wrong with these folks. Many are professional actors and actresses who have done movies, Broadway hits and Vegas Shows. 5/5 My wife and I sent an "Elegant Male" to sing Tom Jones' "She's a Lady" to my grandmother on her 80th birthday. Although we were out of town, we watched the video. Needless to say, he was elegant, energetic, and fun. He belted out "Oh, whoa, whoa, she's a lady" with so much gusto that Tom Jones himself would have swooned. Almost a week has gone by and my family is still talking about it, laughing, and saying how nice the guy was. Lip Service served us well: They were prompt with their email responses, answered our questions, and responsive to special requests, for example, they picked up flowers (that we paid for) on the way to deliver the telegram. Even during the pandemic, these guys came through for us! We sent a telegram for our dad's 75th birthday since we all couldn't be there to celebrate with him and it was PERFECT! Moriah was really helpful in getting us exactly what we needed and even on short notice. The singer came to perform for our dad and even created personalized lyrics for his favorite songs! You get nervous about being able to hold certain poses, how your outfit will shift around, the energy of the photographer, other factors, etc. But Ana, Viktoria, and Maria were such an incredible team to work with and made the day such a smooth and relaxing experience. Not long after I signed up for this photoshoot, Ana contacted me for a dress rehearsal she would be hosting with the lollipop apparatus a month before the set photoshoot date. This was such a thoughtful and amazing idea, as I would realize that there were tricks I could do but wouldn't look good with my dress. The day of the photoshoot, our small but lovely group met up to carpool to the dunes. And the week before, Ana sent out an email to remind us of things to bring to avoid getting car sick, heat stroke, etc. This email, along with all the schedule management, healthy snacks, photoshoot accessories, water, and more showed how much thought and care Ana placed into the day. I can't think of a single thing I would change and look forward to another photoshoot in the future with Moonveil Aerial :)

Our instructor taught us how to start working with our clay, demonstrated how to do it, worked with us, helped us out, showed us different techniques and steps on how to form our pottery. It's was definitely more challenging this time around because I think we didn't have to do as much in our last class we did. My boyfriend said he didn't like the pace of the class and having to work with a whole class. Our last class had less people so it was more intimate and slower, as for this class it was a little bit more of a faster pace. In the end we made 2 pieces. First one was like a practice piece and the second one was when you kind of got the hang of it and the final product looked better. We were only able to take one piece home. Our instructor said she typically does 2 pieces because she teaches faster but we are only able to take one. Honestly, I didn't like my first one too much so I was okay with that but I know some other people in the class wanted to take both. After you are done you have to clean up everything and put everything away. Then you chose the color glaze you want from a choice of 4 or 5. They glaze it for you then they tell you when it's ready for pick up. We are not from SD but it's an excuse to come back down to pick up our pottery.

Obviously I don't design initials... So I had to go with one of the ones he designed even though I requested other options. It gets worse... My mom happened to attend a wedding where he did the dance floor about a month before mine (he is Iraqi and does lots of weddings apparently) and she was worried because she said the dance floor at that wedding didn't look good and had crinkles and bad edges. But we had paid the deposit already and couldn't cancel at that point. When I asked him about it to express some concern and let him know I didn't want that quality work for mine, he ignored me and never addressed it. Day of wedding he did a worse than terrible job wrapping the dance floor in the ballroom. It looked like shit! Soooo bad. Everyone including photographers were saying how bad it looked and that I should have a refund. Huge bubbles everywhere, pieces of white tape randomly placed in spots all over, just absolutely horrible. It made the room look terrible and it was embarrassing to be frank. Would have rather just had plain wood. It was the worst wrapping job I've ever seen. I should have taken more pictures to be able to show you truly how bad it looked. After the wedding I contacted him to complain and request a refund. He tried to blame the hotel saying it was poor quality wood but the hotel sent me photos of the dance floor pre wrap install and it was in fine condition. He became abusive with his words and even threatened to take me to court if I wrote a review. He is a psycho! Stay away!!! Worst customer service and human being I've ever hired. Refused to refund me, blamed others for his poor quality work, and threatened me several times. I unfortunately paid via Zelle or I would have charged back.

We've walked by many times on our way to and from La Doña and never noticed Claytime Ceramics and Gifts. Upon walking in we were cheerfully greeted by Caroline the owner. She explained that her shop is a DIY ceramics shop. You choose a piece and paint it. She even offers classes for making pottery on a pottery wheel. One wall was lined with wheels. There are tables set up for people to create their pieces. When we were there a small family (mom, dad, two small kids) was at a table painting away. Caroline is super nice. She was so friendly and excited to share. Her passion for her art and sharing her knowledge were palpable. This really looked like a great couples, family or group activity. They get a dance floor going every time and have attracted a loyal following. Their song list is huge and can play tunes ranging from the Beatles to Journey to Justin Timberlake. I book them as a 7 piece band and ALL 7 of them sing! That's a rarity with cover bands nowadays. No gimmicky one trick pony in this band. Tom Boyd, the band leader, is great with communication. I also own a professional DJ biz and have had the pleasure of working with The Heroes at a wedding. I immediately could tell they've done hundreds of weddings before. They keep the night flowing and on schedule. They bring a lot of energy to the grand entrances. All their announcements sounded professional, lively and anything but monotonous. If you're looking for a high energy dance band to rock your wedding or party I highly recommend booking The Heroes. They are worth it!

We were impressed by the accolades and their song list so we went to see them at Valley View Casino. They were incredible. You simply cannot do better than The Heroes for a wedding band. From start to finish Tom Boyd (leader, drummer, all-around awesome human being) helped us ensure our wedding was the best experience for us and our guests. Before the wedding he met with us several times. He helped us with our timeline, song recommendations and anything else we needed. We waited until a couple of days before the wedding to choose our first dance song. Although they didn't know it, Tom and the band learned it in 1 day and played it flawlessly at our wedding. My wife was so happy! During the wedding THEY ROCKED IT! They "pied pipered" guests from the cocktail hour into the reception room and we were receiving complements about them before they even went on stage. Once they were on stage... WOAH. They played a "Horah" for the ages! Anytime they were playing people were up dancing. During and after the wedding people kept coming up to us and saying how amazing they were. Everyone wanted to know how we found them and the story behind why we picked them (the short version: Art does an amazing "Baby Got Back"). I have to go now and want to make sure this gets saved before I leave. You will NOT regret choosing the Heroes. They are unbelievably good and are a guaranteed good time.
