In April we were heading to Nashville our daughter wanted us to stop at a liquor store in Louisville to get her husband a bottle of mint julep. So we just typed it in our Yelp search and found this place. Liquor barn is huge they've got what you want and more. They had it. And they still have some. This time she wanted a special bottle of Maker's Mark it is dipped in blue wax but they were gone. Need a whiskey barrel they have them also party supplies cups-plates and napkins. read more

Liquor Barn is crushing it doing curbside pick up for your alcohol needs. Place your order on their website or using the Liquor Barn app. I placed both of my orders using the Liquor Barn app. After placing my order I received two emails and text messages. The first message stating that my order had been received. The second message notified that my order had been confirmed and it will be ready for pick up within 1 hour during pickup hours. On my arrival to Liquor Barn I went back to the confirmed email and clicked on the yellow button "click here to let us know you arrived". After clicking I got a pop up to describe my vehicle. Minutes after submitting my request an employee came out with my order. I showed him my ID and he loaded my purchase in my back seat. I'm pretty sure the same employee helped me on both visits here but I failed to catch his name. Thank you Liquor Barn for making pick up smooth and easy! Popped in LB for a gift. Bourbon of course. When it comes to selection LB has you covered. Searched out the gift box sets and found a distillers cut bottle, perfect just what I was looking for. There is row after row of wine and select spirits. You can also find premiums from around the world along with a huge cold storage beer cave from kegs, by the case to your basic 6pk. Many Foreign and domestics to choose from. You can also find party supplies to complete any of ones bar needs. You can also find a few glass ware of various types to match the proper size. As I browsed in search of new wines I've yet to try. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the products, offered suggestions to fit my tastes. One stop shopping. This store has all the party favors. Great deals, stock is plentiful and they have several locations. Stopped in to see what they had and got good deals on the things I love and picked up a few new things to try. This reminds me of a store like Total Wine but they had more liquor than wine. They have a huge selection of mixers and accessories for making cocktails at home. I was extremely impressed and will be back any time I'm in the area. The short story: Good selection, helpful staff. The longer-ish story: I stopped in on the way to a friend's house for some pool time, after they had helped me with some yard work, and prior to a backyard gathering where I was requested to bring some beverages. There was one specific request, and the rest was a bit nebulous. For the later gathering, it was focused around the release of "Hamilton" on Disney+ and, a person who lives and dies for a theme (and who tells your stooory), was tasked with bringing some cider for an 'era-authentic' cocktail. Redd's...4-pack tallboys. Found easily, done. I intended to bring a bottle of some kind of liquor and insist that people could "not throw away their shot." I resolved to get one of the Jefferson's (THEME) bourbons. This location carries all of the versions, and the regular small-batch Jefferson's Bourbon is what fit in with my budget. Easily perused, located, and selected...done! The yard work helper specifically requested some Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. I had a very hard time finding this. But that is because they were literally down to the last 6-pack! An employee asked if I needed help, they indicated that they were running low, if not out completely because of folks wanting it for the 4th of July weekend, but also because their distributor had been out for some time. But they located that last 6-pack for me and I scooped it up! I also got a couple of other things to leave with my friend for future pool-drankin, basically as thanks for allowing me to use their pool. A $6 six-pack of Naturdays (shut up...it is surprisingly refreshing) and a variety pack of Truly Lemonades. I have shopped at the Fern Creek Liquor Barn twice. They have a vast array of different spirits for anyone's liking along w/ other items to mix drinks of any kind. They also have awesome retail merchandise from decorated barrel heads, other barrel art, Derby party favors, decorations, cards, party supplies, etc. This particular store also carries KDF glasses that can be obtained just by presenting the card included w/ each years Pegasus Pin. This store is easy to navigate if you are looking for a particular item or just browse. The employees are very attentive, personable and knowledgeable if you have questions regarding a product or helping to find something. read more

This place has a great selection of Bourbon Whiskey and many other things. We specifically came there for Evan Williams Fire. For some odd reason it's difficult to find in Indiana! The staff was very helpful and we will be back. read more

Liquor Barn is just what it sounds like, a huge liquor store! We were here for one thing. The Maker's Mark Mint Julep that only comes out at Derby Time. We were in Louisville just two weeks after the Derby so there was plenty of this in stock. We picked up several! Great store! read more

I can't report back on the "smoke shop" part of the shop. I've been to Louisville a few times on road trips, and have stopped at various Liquor Barn outlets each time to stock up on local booze. If you're from the area, this may be the smallest and most run down branch. If you're from out of state (or country, in my case), this still feels like a slice of heaven. We were in a rush and couldn't spend hours browsing so had put together a list of bourbons we hoped might be available, even if they were long shots. Our number one choice, based on online research, had 8 bottles sitting on the shelf. Bourbon that gets great reviews, isn't available outside of KY, and if it were available here, would cost nearly 10x as much. We bought what they had in the store and left extremely happy. Their booze selection is excellent, especially American whiskeys. Whether this or another branch, I would definitely recommend hitting Liquor Barn to stock up on interesting spirits that you can't find anywhere else! read more

This liquor store is huge and well stocked. The prices are very good. We bought a big bottle of Grey Goose for $20 on sale. We also bought some Jamaican rum, Captain morgan, cranberry juice, ginger ale, a few bottles of water. OUr bill was a little under $100 which was a great price for all that we bought. read more

I hope they have bourbon. Oh good they do. Lots of it. Vodka, gin, scotch, beer, it's all here. This particular location is a little smaller than some. They don't have the huge selection of food that other locations have. But they do have booze and beer. Great selection of craft beer and bourbons. Some good cheeses. read more

Excellent service!!! We were Traveling through Kentucky on a road trip and called ahead asking for a specific bourbon. The Manager Sarah said she had it and would put it aside. When we got there they indeed had it ready for us. It turns out they didn't actually have in stock at this location, and when they realized that, they went to another location to get it and have it for us. They could have easily just told us they didn't have it and left it there. But this was true customer care!!! Would definitely recommend Liquor Barn!!! read more

Cigars are moldy and the taste reflects this. Go somewhere else. You can see the mold on all the cigars. I have been smoking cigars for 15 years and this is far from the place to go. I do not drink so I cannot tell you about the rest. read more

Every type of liquor you can imagine is here. It is basically an alcohol department store. Each type of alchohol has an isle or two dedicated to it. But I mostly drink craft beer, and they have an impressive amount of craft beer stocked. Two large isles of imports, and one large isle of USA microbrews. Hundreds of different breweries are represented. And they generally have several different styles of beer for sell from each brewery. They also have a large walk-in beer cooler. Prices are pretty much average for this area. If you are getting a 6-pack of US microbrews, they run on average from about $8 - $12. Maybe a bit more for the more rare stuff. 22oz. bombers usually run around $6 to $12. Imports tend to be a bit pricier. Now the negatives: First off don't bother asking anyone there specific questions regarding beer. They don't know. Second, check the dates on your bottles! They don't rotate stock here apparently because I have ended up with expired and skunky beer on way more than a few occasions. If your brew of choice does not have a date on it, just check to see how much dust is built up on the bottles. They apparently don't dust their products off either, so it's a good indicator of how long it has been sitting on the shelf. Third, there are only four beers on tap at any given time. And they are generally larger microbreweries' flagship fare at that, (Goose Island's Honker Ale, Great Lakes' Burning River, etc.). They do offer some singles at the front of the craft beer isle, but it is usually stuff that is out of date that they are trying to unload. However I was told by an employee at the Hurstbourne location that all Liquor Barns will let you buy singles of any 6 or 12 packs they have, although there are no signs out informing you of this. Prices for singles are not pro-rated, so you will pay more for a single bottle. read more
