The service here is top notch. They are not as large as your liquor barn's or total wine's but they are conveniently placed and the prices are reasonable. This is always my go to when I am close to home and need a quick fix.

A-OK, Indeed. You're not going to get a fancy-pants 'spirits' experience here. But, if you're…read morelooking for a good selection of reasonably priced (maybe a touch on the high side) bottles, you're in the right spot. Quarters are cramped, so come in with a game plan. If you find yourself lollygagging around the store, odds are you're going to bump into someone/something and no one is going to be happy about it. There's, likely, a rhyme and reason to the organization but I didn't discern it. That means that you shouldn't come here if you're looking for the perfect bottle but you're short on time. Come here, when you have a second to wander (not, lollygag) and explore the options. Again, not a big space but there's a nice quantity and selection if you take the time to look for it. The folks at the counter are helpful but they're busy. If you need something, you may have to wait for a bit. Know this. If they ask you if you need help, say yes. You won't get asked again. This isn't an issue of being rude. It's an issue of having stuff to do. They keep it moving. I dig that. I tend to enjoy a relaxed (lollygagged) booze shopping experience, so SSBS will probably never be my go-to, but it's not at all a bad place to shop. Just follow the rules I laid out and all will be well. Oh, I saved the best part of this place for last: there's a drive-thru!

I hate writing reviews of places without all the information available for your consideration/consumption. I'd driven past this older white house for years. Over the years, there have been many neon signs outside of it but I never felt compelled to stop in. On my way to a dinner party at a friends' house, I decided to detour from my go-to wine & spirits shop in this part of town and try something new. I believe I found a replacement. Zora's has a large parking lot, ample selection and lots of charm. As Louisville/Jefferson County business/residence creeps ever closer to Shelby County, stores like Zora's become more and more necessary. After dropping $x on a mini-manse, you can't expect folks to travel into the city limits for some vino. US 60E has needs. The night I stopped in, I chatted with the proprietress (Zora?). She asked me what I was looking for and my price point. At that time, I hadn't come up with my sure-fire wine system but I told her the crowd, the situation and how much I wanted to spend. She directed me to a Fat Bastard Cab (towards the upper end of what it should go for, price-wise; the wine was drinkable and inoffensive for a casual dinner party with good friends) and a Three Winds Syrah (the better of the two by far; great price point, very popular with food and just drinking; palatable for red lovers of all kinds - ie fruity & spicy with a round finish). She (I'm just going to call her 'Zora') knew her way around all the product, was very easy to talk to and offered great suggestions for future buys. For the majority of my time there, I was the only customer but by the time I left, a few other people walked in. Eastwood, Boston, Long Run, Fisherville... you have a nice place at which to buy booze.* *Lookit Louisville with all these neighborhoods. I love it. I remember when Jefferson County/Louisville neighborhoods = subdivisions.

Great service, great selection and convenient to where I live. Happy to support this local business!read more
