After 5 minutes, I went up and asked them if someone was going to let me look, and the response was that they could let me "grab what I wanted" but that they didn't have time to let me look. Very disappointing experience. I had heard some really cool things about this place, and made the 1.5 hour drive from Louisville just to check it out. Monarch is monstrous. You would almost think it was an automobile plant. They have 15 (!) acres of beer and wine warehouse space which is only a 21-day supply which is unthinkable to me. They have a very good wellness program that includes an onsite doctor and nurse practitioner, onsite fitness facility, subsidized offsite gym memberships, free fruit, and subsidized salad bar. Not sure if it is open to the public, but if you ever get the chance to have a function there, I highly recommend it (of course they have a beer/wine bar).

In my opinion, crown has a wide selection of quality, distilled spirits, at what I find to be reasonable prices. It is possible to find unique and interesting items at their stores. It is a chain, and they do have a robust searchable website presence. The staff are generally very helpful. So, if there is something in particular, you're looking for, and can't find it at a crown liquor location you're visiting just ask. Often the staff will be able to recommend another location and perhaps even be able to check with staff at that other location to see if the alternative store has what you're looking for.
