Man. This Chinese food is alright, but seriously not 4/5 stars. The portions are super healthy (order the trough of pad thai if you're super hungry - it's killer quantity but not that authentic in taste), but otherwise, the food is not earth shattering. The chicken in my Basil Chicken was kind of .slimy/squishy (so creepy), but the light sauce with notes of basil and ginger had good flavor. My favorite part of Li's is the online ordering service (yay, convenience!), but the dishes could use some more description (boo, guessing!). There is free delivery (yay, laziness!) within an 8 mile radius which includes downtown SPG. Food was nice and hot. Ni hao! read more

Excellent lunch deals. The pick 2 or 3 sushi rolls includes Miso Soup ($7-9). I was able to try the Spicy Shrimp, Spicy Krab and Spicy Tuna rolls. All are smaller sized rolls but come with 6 (or maybe 8?) pieces. The rice was soft, and the insides were spicy. I've not tried dinner...yet. read more

Li's Brothers is a Longmeadow institution. I've been eating here for the better part of 15 years. Food is a consistently good rendition of your typical American "Chinese" food. Like most state-side takes on foreign dishes, it's not truly authentic, but it's always tasty. The decor inside is in need of a serious revamp, however. The sushi room still has the same non-functioning air cleaners it had when it was the designated smoking room many many moons ago, some of the wood paneling on the walls is peeling off, the bathrooms are in desperate need of a complete tear down, etc etc. It reminds me of a lot of good Chinatown restaurants in that way, which gives it a certain charm, but I'd rather see a top-to-bottom renovation than try to jam closed a dreary looking bathroom door. read more

Highly recommended! The food and staff at Li's brothers earned every star. They are a generous restaurant in their portions and care. Our entire family has been avid fans for many years. Our go-to meals are their teriyaki beef sticks, veggie lo mein, crab rangoon and their revolution diet menu. We always make sure to get extra hot mustard. The owner really values her regulars and makes us feel welcomed, valued and at home each time we come for a visit. When their restaurant opens up again (because it's 2020) we look forward to sitting down and enjoying the ambiance. read more

Dumplings & General Taos was really good but we got the pupu platter for 2 and asked for extra duck sauce and when we got home we had none in the bag :( I'm a sauce snob so i wasn't a fan of that stuff mainly because we had no duck sauce for it. read more

I would understand if the food was late and right but the order was late and wrong. Two separate orders were ordered due to time to eat for children. Next they put separate orders of sushi in the same box together where one was a raw fish order and the other was not due to pregnancy. They put them together and had fish eggs on the non raw one. When we called for a refund and told them we didn't order fish eggs they processed to say they put it on all their sushi which when we checked the menu it does not say it. Next order the poke bowl comes with: desired fish, mango, avocado, lettuce, rice, seaweed salad, cucumber and tomato. Order was not correct with them substituting out the mango and lettuce with cabbage and pineapple. The clear soup tasted like sewer water. It was tasted by 4 different people and everyone agreed. One order of chicken comes with rice on the side and we ordered another small container of rice for our kid. The rice was packed together. The only order that was correct was our kids when she only had chicken on a stick and rice. Lastly was the front desk, extremely rude. After gaffing off my wife I had to call again and ask directly for the manager. An excuse of that "we are real busy so it's out of our hands" is BS to say to a customer when our order is over 30 min past what you have as the delivery time regardless if there was another order made 30 min later. Outside the food if there is a delivery time with the order and something is wrong with it there is a reason our phone number is on the order. read more

Never a fan of Li's Brothers, haven't been there in 15 years. Well, tonight we decided to give it another chance. I wish I hadn't. The beef lo mien was greasy and tasted like it had been smoked. The beef fried rice wasn't really fried and tasted pasty. The beef and brocolli tasted ok but had very little beef. The general taos chicken tasted like a cheap frozen dinner vesion of what is supposed to be a crunchy, tasty dish. The chicken cashew tasted nice but the chicken was rubbery. The Pu pu platter was skimpy and bland. Will never go back! read more

I don't get all the high stars for this place. When I arrived, no one noticed I was there for a good 5 minutes to seat me. The dining area is large but pretty empty... ok, not a big deal since people might mostly do take out. The waitress was very nice and pleasant. However, I can't say the food was that much better than others. The sushi was ok. The avocado salad was nice (if you only like iceberg lettuce and avocado.... nothing else in it except for the ginger dressing... ok wasn't horrible and not something I'll quibble about, but just know what you're getting). But what bothered me was that the beef negimaki I received, though presented nicely on a plate, was literally, lukewarm. I asked nicely for it to be reheated and they seemed surprised, but no problem, it was reheated. However, it left a bad impression. I just find there were too many misses on a basic order and the quality was so-so for me to return. All I could think of was, "I wish I hadn't decided to try it and gone with what I knew was good across the street at Iron Chef". That's not a good sign if you're thinking that. And at least at Iron Chef, you know that they do the all Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian and Thai offerings WELL. read more

It was a heavy snow day yesterday (12/17/13) and It took me forever to get home. By the time I got home, the idea of cooking dinner was the last thing I wanted to do. So we decided to get something delivered. We were not in the mood for driving either. We stumbled upon this restaurant and was stoked to see the various dishes they offered. Felling like sushi and chicken Katsu? You can get it all here! Chinese, Japanese, Thai... Uh what?!? The website was user friendly and you could add the tip right on the site. How sweet is that? We ordered fried shrimp with walnuts, chicken fried rice, chicken Katsu, spicy tuna roll and lobster tail roll. The lobster tail was amazingly delicious, my mouth is watering just thinking of this roll. The chicken fried rice was ok and the Katsu was a little dry. But overall, I was totally happy. There was also a ridiculous amount of fresh broccoli, it was a nice surprise. Will order from this place again! If you haven't eaten here, do it. Order the lobster tail, you will not regret it!!! read more

OMG this is the BEST place! The sushi is amazing! I got the Evan roll and I'm still dreaming about it. The hot and sour soup is the bomb. Will you buy me dinner, because I'll be your friend if you do. There are plenty of non sushi items for those of you not into sushi. My mother recently moved to Longmeadow and we were on the hunt for some quality Chinese food after Bright Nights and I trusted my fellow Yelpers again to lead me to Li Brother's which is right around the corner from her house. They have a great vegan "meat" selection, but this time around we decided to not go that route. I ordered the chicken and garlic sauce with brocoli, my son got the chicken lo mein with veggies and mom ordered the drunken noodle with beef. Everything was fresh, not greasy like MOST Chinese places and so full of crisp vegetables. We ate SO much and my son couldn't get enough of his meal either. I did think the drunken noodle could use a bit more zing to it but mom liked it a lot. We will be venturing out to the more adventurous menu items when we are not with a 5 year old. read more

Went here for dinner and I am amazed with their large menu selection! However, what is more impressive than their diverse menu selection is how well they execute their dishes. This evening, I was surprised to see Vietnamese Spring Roll on their menu, so out of curiosity, I HAD to try it and I was not disappointed! The rolls were well crafted and the peanut sauce was absolutely delicious, it's just like how grandma makes it back in the motherland. The sushi was put together well and I enjoyed the unique rolls they have on their menu as they were creative and the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. The one thing they could improved upon is their Vietnamese Noodle Soup, it had all the major ingredients in order to pass as pho, but the meatballs was paper thin, and the broth was bland. However, the beef they used in their soup was tender and perfectly cooked to the point that it was better than most Vietnamese restaurants. Because it was New Years Eve, we ended up waiting a 1/2 hr inside Li's Brothers for our large order. Many were waiting and many were frustrated and upset due to the wait times. I understood the frustration and was too a bit frustrated, but unlike others, had a bit more understanding. The pint to this review is that despite the wait time, when we got home to our party, the food was perfect! Everything we ordered was included and in was out of this world delicious. I used to live in East Longmeadow, so Li's Brothers was one of my old haunts back in the day. On Christmas, I picked up some takeout sushi. I ordered using their online service (which was really easy to use and convenient, since I HATE talking on the phone.) and scheduled for a pickup time that was 3+ hours in the future. When I arrived, my order was ready for me and seemed fresh and cold still. (good!) I really enjoyed the sushi (if I had to rate the sushi alone, I'd give it a four out of five) and the price was right (11.00 and some change for one miso soup and two hand rolls) and it was a great treat on the holiday. read more

I happened to be in the area when my daughter called requesting chicken noodle soup so into Li's I went. We ended up ordering pad thai, vegetable lo mein & scallion pancakes to go with the soup. Everything was solid...not spectacular, not terrible. Not very many vegetables at all in any of the noodle dishes. With so many options for Chinese in the area, I'd have to say I wouldn't go back here because I've better meals other places. That said...I do feel obligated to go back & try the sushi with all the great reviews. And it was hard for me to pass up the lobster & mango roll special but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. read more

My brother, sister-in-law, husband and I went to Li's Brothers this past New Year's Eve, expecting a huge crowd and substantial wait. When we arrived around 7:30, however, there was no such crowd, and we were seated right away in the half-full dining room. Immediately, we noticed a sign taped to the wall that listed the menu items they were not making on New Year's Eve. Presumably these dishes were all time-intensive, so evidently we weren't the only ones expecting a crowd. In any event, despite our initial misgivings (we were a little worried that an empty Japanese/Chinese restaurant on New Year's didn't bode well), Li's Brothers got high marks. The main dining area (there are two-- the "other" one is smaller and abuts the sushi chef's station) is spacious and comfortable. The service was adequate-- neither bad nor great-- and the food was excellent. We ordered a variety of sushi and sashimi, and without exception it was delicious and fresh. The presentation of some of the dishes-- complete with flashing LED light cubes-- was pretty kitschy, but entertaining. Li's Brothers menu is extensive, and prices are on par with similar restaurants. read more

We love Li's Brothers, we've never dined in, but order take-out often. The owner is such a sweet lady. Every time we go in to place a take out order, she's always giving us a little something something extra too. That is great customer service, on top of their already delicious food. Sushi is very fresh here, hubby and I normally split a dinner maki roll combo with spicy tuna, shrimp tempura (or sweet potato) and philly roll. We usually split a Pu Pu Platter too, love love the teriyaki beef, spare ribs and crab ragoons. Definitely recommend this place! read more

My standards for excellent Chinese/Japanese/Asian fusion food go back to my time in San Francisco. I know that sounds snooty, but I don't care. When you've experienced excellent Asian food, a place like this is a major let down. I have to agree with another one star reviewer. This food got tossed into the trash. I don't remember what I ordered, but it didn't even taste fresh, much less good. Prompt, friendly service only goes so far if your food is inedible. Saw high reviews on here but this wasn't all that it's cracked up to be. The fried rice was bleh. The lo mein was also bleh. Hardly any good Chinese flavor. The ribs were gamey and maybe microwaved or reheated. The general tang chicken was way too bready and honestly for how much it was it should've tasted way better. For fresh authentic fried rice I recommend Pho Saigon in Springfield. The waitress was sweet though. read more

Let me begin by sharing that I've been a regular customer of Li Brothers for over a dozen years. During the first 10 years the quality of the food was consistently very good to excellent. Over the last couple of years I've seen (and tasted) the quality gradually decline. Tonight was my last time ever eating at, or ordering takeout from , Li Brothers. I ordered a takeout meal. I arrived to pick it up before it came out from kitchen. I live only 2 miles away and immediately took the food home to eat it. You'd think it would be hot. I had to microwave the Hot and Sour soup for 3 full minutes before it was hot. The entree was supposedly chicken with vegetables. There was so little chicken and it was so dried out that I would not be able to swear under oath that it actually was chicken. The vegetables were absolutely tasteless. The chef did not include more than 1 tablespoon of sauce in the entire dish. It was drier than saw dust. Lastly, even though the takeout containers are still the same size they've always been, the portions have been significantly reduced. Well, that's about it. Now I have to go cook dinner...which is not what I'd planned on doing this evening when I ordered takeout from Li Brothers. read more

Part of my family lives in Longmeadow and we have been going to this restaurant for years. I always plan for at least one visit to Li Brothers on every trip I make back east. The food always tastes fantastic and their presentation is excellent. Their is a wide variety of Chinese and Japanese offerings on the menu. They also create these wonderful Bridges of Sushi that always get a lot of Ooos and Ahhs when they come out to the table. if you smoke, they have a smoking room as well. The folks that run the restaurant always remember you and treat you like their own family. read more

Comfortable and relaxed, it is never too crowded or empty. Nice little gem on the CT mass border and for a part of the earth as culturally bereft as north central CT, an oasis of tea and sympathy. Go across the street to iron chef. I came here after reading the reviews because they had a full bar and figured I would get traditional Chinese and keep it basic. The "kids" that were working there were inattentive. It was not crowded at all. They sat me down and no one checked on me for full 10 minutes. I just walked out, no one noticed or cared. A few years ago I would have given Li's 5 stars, but the sushi quality in past year has left me disappointed and otherwise sick. Twice I've gotten ill within a day of eating the sushi here. I started to wonder if they aren't flash freezing their fish to kill any parasites? Kind of ironic i would end up ill after eating here. Even though the owners of this restaurant tend to tinker with the program (menu changes/buffet/no buffet) you can tell they always want diners to have a good experience. The waiters are friendly and never make one feel rushed- so this is an excellent place to eat when you want to spend time with your companions eating good food and relaxing. The restaurant never gets too full, just comfortably busy, has a large menu of high quality items, as well as all of the cutesy Chinese restaurant drink choices. read more
