    Chui Chow Style Dumplings $4.55
    Lee V.

My husband and I love dim sum and we're happy to be able to get dim sum in Orleans and not have to go to Chinatown. The food is good for Orleans. Obviously dim sum in Montreal or Toronto is better. It's a bit expensive too. Most dim sum are $4.55. I didn't like the tripe because it was chewy and had a smell, but everything else was good. I liked the shrimp and coriander dumplings. They have water chestnuts in them too so were a little crunchy inside. The shrimp dumplings were better than the Chiu Chow dumplings, and you get 4 instead of 3 so a better deal. If I'm craving dim sum and don't want to leave Orleans this is where I go.

We stopped in because I was craving Chinese food. We weren't disappointed. The spring rolls are 10/10 delicious. The general Tso chicken 10/10. The dumplings in a spicy sweet peanut are about a 7/10 but only because the meat is a little finer grind than I like. The Moo See pork is a 10/10 I would eat this for breakfast, and I might just do that. The portions are very generous so bring your appetite. It's a good thing they have to go boxes.

Nice Atmosphere. Clean. Quick and friendly staff. Great place for a well priced lunch. Food was good.

    Just a small lunch today.

Dim Sum items are always fresh and possibly a little bigger than downtown. Service is always friendly and you are often served or visited by the Owner/Chief. Dim Sum menu is available in photo format. Excellent spot to try dim sum for the first time. Saw 3 people (retired? My age?) Order 3 different lunch specials which they place in the middle of the table and helped themselves. A very economical meal for 3! Good hot and sour soup with plenty of vegetables although I could use a bit more "sour". It is difficult to get the right balance for everyone.

Gorgeous spring rolls ! Fresh, hand made, fully loaded!

The hubby recently got takeout from Nom Nom a couple of weeks ago, and forgot how good it was, while it has been a couple of years since I've had takeout from here. We ordered the sesame balls, veggie spring rolls, sweet potato croquettes, tofu spicy fried noodles, and Singapore noodles. The sesame balls and the veggie spring rolls were reminiscent of the stuff you'd get at an AYCE restaurant, but they were still good. The sweet potato croquettes was a first for me, and they were very much like a large hash brown, but super fluffy inside. My suggestion is to wait for them to cool down a bit and eat them warm or room temperature. My toddler loved these, but I thought they were just OK. The Korean spicy fried noodles was the star of the show, although a bit too greasy for my liking, they did hit the spot. I really enjoyed their take on cooking tofu. I think they took deep fried puffed tofu, flattened it down and fried it with the noodles, where it resembled sliced pork. There was a lot of nice color to it, as well as a slight char, and the texture was amazing. Keep it mind, it was a tad greasy as well. I didn't care for the Singapore noodles. My hubby loves this dish, but said he's had it made better else where, so its all personal preference. I do like that you can customize a lot of the meals into vegetarian meals, so major kudos to that. I don't crave Asian cuisine all that often, so I don't think I will be rushing back, but it was nice to switch things up and try out something new.

It was our first-time trying it because the original restaurant we wanted to go to on Somerset was closed, but we were definitely not let down. They open at 11:30 on the weekend and we were a bit early but the staff was super friendly and accommodating- letting us sit down, browse the menu and even place our order before they "officially" opened. Out of all the dine-in korean restaurants we've tried so far in Ottawa (which I know is quite limited and most aren't authentic- but that's not to say they aren't good): Alirang, Maht, Daldongnae, etc. This is definitely top tier AND we will be coming back. As a small business, they are generous with their refillable complimentary side dishes (which is so yum), the flavour HITS, and the service is so good and welcoming. They kept checking in with us, turned down the volume to the TV that we were sitting under, and kept refilling our tea. inside the restaurant is also quite spacious and has comfortable seating arrangements. We ordered the vegetarian maki rolls which were quite fresh and tasty, and the vegetarian ramen which... honestly wasn't good. The broth was alright, pretty flavourful. The noodles seemed packaged. The real issue was the heaps of frozen vegetables on top - carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and corn. Definitely, obviously from a standard frozen bag. Watery and just out of place in a ramen. Additionally, I have to say the bathroom wasn't clean. There was pink mold around the taps and paper on the floor. I wish this family everything good, and I know they are working super hard running two restaurants, I hesitate to post anything negative but really hope the feedback can be useful and help them succeed bigger and better.

The Long Version: My husband and I got takeout from The Hot Wok for dinner when we were staying in Perth. All their food is packaged as takeout, but they do have seating where you can eat your takeout food, just no table service. We decided to take the food back to our hotel room instead. We got the Bang Bang Chicken ($18.25) and the Shrimp Pad Ki Mow ($19.50). I called my order in and we walked there to pick it up. I was told it would take about 30 minutes to be ready. (They make everything to order.) We arrived after 30 minutes and our food was ready as promised. The lady on the phone was very courteous and I think she was the same lady at the pickup counter. The Bang Bang Chicken was listed on the menu as "Lightly breaded chicken tossed in a creamy honey sauce, on a bed of greens." It did not mention sesame seeds were sprinkled on top and I forgot to say "no sesame seeds" with my order so I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't really eat this dish, but that was on me. I was able to manage a few bites that didn't have sesame seeds on them (I can handle mild contamination) and I found the meat a bit dry, but the outside was pleasantly crispy and the honey sauce was pleasant. The "bed of greens" was actually raw shredded cabbage and carrots in a creamy sauce. I was asked how spicy I wanted this dish and I said medium, but it wasn't spicy at all, like not even mildly spicy, lol. Don't worry, the food didn't go to waste, as my husband ate it. The dish came with a small serving of steamed white rice. The rice was good, not too mushy nor too dry. The Shrimp Pad Ki Mow was tasty, albeit a tad too oily for me. It had 6 large shrimp, which were all properly deveined. They were plump and juicy. The dish also had broccoli, cauliflower, onions, carrots and Bok Choy. I was happy to see they were very generous with the vegetables. You have the option of having this dish with rice noodles or rice, I chose the noodles since that's what traditional Pad Ki Mow is. However, the noodles used were rather thin, like even thinner than traditional Pad Thai noodles. I like the wider noodles that typically come with Pad Ki Mow (or as I usually know it as, Pad Kee Mao). I was also asked what spice level I wanted this dish and I also said medium, and for this dish, it was a true medium as it had a spicy kick to it. They have their own private parking lot in front of the restaurant that is shared with their next door neighbour Jersey Joe's. Review #42 (2025)

Door Dash was having a $25 off if you spend $50 or more deal, so my brother ordered Chinese food from Lucky Fortune and got it delivered to my parents' place. Fortunately for me, I was visiting my parents when this happened. So I got to partake in the eating of the aforementioned food. Thanks, Bro! Lol. Actually, he knew I was visiting when he placed the order, so he got the food for my parents and I ;) He got the Combination Shanghai Noodles ($17.50), the Black Pepper Beef ($16.25) and the General Tao Chicken ($18.75). A small order of white rice was included at no cost, as were 3 fortune cookies. The Combination Shanghai Noodles had lots of meat it in. It had beef, chicken, BBQ pork as well as shrimp. I was impressed. It also had onions and bean sprouts in it. I really enjoyed the noodles. They weren't too oily, which I appreciated The General Tao Chicken was delicious. Lots of lean meat inside and the ratio of meat to batter was good. It had a bit of spice and even after delivery still had a bit of crispiness on the outside. I really enjoyed this dish too. My brother requested no sesame seeds for me and they accomodated. The Black Pepper Beef had a spicy kick to it too. The beef was tender and came with carrots, bell peppers and onions. The white rice was good and I was pleased it was included without charge. Overall I thought the food was delicious. It was my first time having food from there. I would definitely want to get food from them again. Can't comment on service, ambiance or the parking situation since it was a Door Dash delivery order. Review #67 (2025)
