I was a patient of Dr. Alloju/Fairweather/Frankenstein as a college kid. I'd been struggling with depression and anxiety since I was 15, and now at 20 the consequences of these conditions were having a disastrous affect on my school performance. I went to this doctor because I needed help. I felt like an outsider looking in, trying but failing to be a Human Normal. I hated myself with fury and fire. And I didn't want to want to die, but I certainly longed for an eternal reprieve from the pain. So I went to a doctor. I was in school in Brooklyn but grew up in Texas, and as I was home for the holidays, I started seeing Dr. Alloju. I didn't know the far-reaching and indelible mark this would leave on my life, changing the course completely. I was a bright kid. I read constantly. A bit of a nerd. A writing major. I wanted to write plays and movies. But here's what happened instead: After talking to me for 45 minutes and barely listening, this woman diagnosed me as having Bipolar II Disorder. I wasn't that upset about it because I thought, well maybe she's right and maybe she can help me. Over the course of the next year, culminating in a near-death experience, I was put on these medications concurrently: Lamictal 400mg, Seroquel 350mg, Klonopin 2mg twice daily, and to cap it all off, Geodon 80mg. This is enough medication to sedate an obese elephant. I was 20 years old, 5'2 and 107 lbs. I had to drop out of college because I almost died from this demented drug cocktail. That was a long time ago and I'm still angry. I'm still angry that it took me 10 more years before I was properly diagnosed as ADHD and on the autism spectrum. I didn't need to be on those drugs. I just didn't. When I told her they weren't working, she'd just increase the dosages. Once, during a phone session, she said I sounded drunk and went a step further to label me as an alcoholic. I didn't really drink at the time; my words were slurred because of the sedating medication. The irony, of course, is that Dr. Alloju has multiple DUIs and was on some sort of probation while treating me. I only have flashbulb memories from an entire year of my life. Apparently I almost died from an overdose of these medications. It took many years to try and get my life back from this monster. This is all to say, this woman will destroy your mind, body, and spirit. And she almost ended my life. What she did to me was criminal. Not just malpractice, although it was also that, but it was a deeply immoral negligence and breach of trust. At least if she *had* killed me she might not be practicing to this day. Stay. I had been a patient of Dr. Fairweather for 2 years. I actually haven't seen her for the last year since she has all of her patients seeing a P.A. now. You will NOT be able to talk to anyone on the phone. (Unless you want to pay $200) After a 5 minute phone conversation with the P.A. , $200 was charged to my on file debit card! This office ONLY communicates through a text messaging system and will not get back to you in any type of timely manner (days usually). If you require a monthly refill of your medication, Dr. Fairweather has a website called Rescriptme.com. Here, it will cost you $35 just to ASK for your prescription. This does NOT guarantee you'll get it or that they'll remember to call it in. My new Dr. was in disbelief when I told him about this sham. This office is in SHAMBLES. They are so unorganized and crass. The receptionist (Chantal?) that MIGHT decide to text you back is very rude. The P.A. (Ms. Workman) had my prescriptions completely messed up. Dr. Fairweather seemed to not even know what medication I was taking or what dosage. I HIGHLY suggest you google Dr. Fairweather's medical and LEGAL background before putting your mental health in her hands.... that's all i will say about THAT...This office is just a money hungry prescription factory that has no clue about it's patients and seems to care less. I can't put into words what Dr Fairweather has done for my life. I walked into her office 3 years ago broken, falling apart, depressed, and full of anxiety. I felt hopeless and lost. Dr. Fairweather has been such a blessing to me right now. I've had a very traumatic 3 years and have been trying to pinpoint what exactly is going on with my mental well-being. I've been given all sorts of pills over the last few years that just seem to be masking the real issues. I have my world back because of Dr Fairweather. I had been to several other doctors over the years and it seemed like their answer was to medicate me. Dr Fairweather worked with my medications and reduced or weaned me off of meds that had just reduced me to " I don't care" After trying several different meds and tuning me to the best possible dosages I became my old self again. I tried to see Dr. Fairweather as a new patient because I heard she was good at treating anxiety and panic disorder (which I have suffered from I was 6 years old. I tried explaining in the message that I am very distressed because I've tried therapy, medication, etc. and I still suffer from daily panic attacks & 24/7 365 anxiety. Where I wake up in a panic attack, I have withdrawn from friend & social settings I have everything delayed going back to work hi it makes me so anxious at the thought of having at my home. Member wrote back that Dr. Fairweather would not recommended treatment program, which I can return her back that I completed one in June of this year. Dr. has not eaten yet let alone access and she's decided she won't even see me! She is one of the few psychiatrists in my city. I have to tell you that this situation has made me even more depressed and anxious and having feelings of hopelessness because I feel like no one is ever going to help me. It's a shame that there is such a big mouth regarding mental illness and that it is not treated as much importance of physical illness. After 3 months of seeing doctor Fairweather, I unfortunately have to revise my review, as After 3 months I felt that Dr Fairweather was more concerned about losing her license and making money, after being suspended multiple times for abusing prescription drugs, which her and her husband, also a doctor, would write for each other. I should have done a little more research before choosing Dr Fairweather, this is not my opinion, it is listed as facts by the Board of Psychologic Medicine and very easy to find without much effort, I wish that I had done more investigation before spending almost $200 for a very 15 minutes that she saw me just to write prescriptions. I am sure that she will respond with some kind of attack, but I have never be convicted, or even charged with any offense. Dr. Fairweather helped save my life. I came to her at rock bottom with an untreated anxiety disorder. She is a phenomenal physician. I have been a patient with Lisa Fairweather for a few years and loved her she listened helped me survive with depression anxiety and a head trauma that left me able to focus and, concentrate she helped me be able to survive! She cares and new what I needed I made the unfortunate choice to go with her assistant because of financial reasons, I have been miserable since!!! My antidepressants don't get ordered , she won't refill meds ,she wants me to see her every month , so I've had horrible withdrawals, to see her it feels like it's only about $$cha Ching ! Went to the office for 6 years. Disorganized and big turnover in staff. Dr. Fairweather only deals in designer drugs which are not affordable. Didn't get the help I really needed. Found out there were 5 other drugs for bipolar depression which are affordable. Best decision I made was to leave. Now see someone who truly cares about my mental health. read more

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with her. She did not realize that I was having a bad reaction to the medicine she prescribed. I am also a doctor so I knew something was wrong. I had more anxiety, could not sleep and had no appetite. I could not work for 2 weeks. I thought I was having a mental breakdown. Actually, I was having serotonin syndrome as a result of the SSRI she prescribed for my anxiety. I lost 15 pounds and only sleep about an hour each night. She prescribed me so much Xanax that I could hardly function. When I went to another psychiatrist he immediately knew what was going on. He took me off all the meds she had prescribed and now I have my life back. I think she is much more interested in her cosmetic business than actual psychiatry. read more
