My man ordered his usual - Beef and Burgundy, and I ordered the Pepper Steak. I asked the lady serving how many pies they sold each day. "Up to 1,000 on a good day and the kitchen keeps baking all day from 6am she said." Hmmm must be good pies I thought....hmmm the displays were still full at 5pm when we called in...hmmm must be a long night ahead... all these observations and yet only one big question - what do these pies taste like!? We tucked in to our pies in paper bags. Very hot. Molten gravy. Lots of pastry. Not much flavour - rather bland. My expert pie taster's rating out of 10? 6.
