They have been excellent-always helping me find the right specialists and care I need. Jessica Fennel, APRN, has been who I've seen every time I've had an appointment. She is nice, thorough and knowledgeable. She works through Dr.Douglas Walsh. She has always helped whatever I've needed. I definitely recommend North Manatee Family Healthcare. They maintain Covid safety procedures which makes me feel safe. Every single person I've worked with from the staff answering phones, nurses and my APRN have been excellent. They all seem to really care about the patients and doing what they can to help. I am very happy to come here because I know they will do their best for me.

I have been dealing with a chronic issue that continues to worsen, and she always takes me seriously and does not brush me off, which I genuinely appreciate. I have been in her office in tears, ready to give up and she can always reassure me and bring me back to earth. She never hesitates to make a referral to a specialist, which means a lot. I have been to some primaries who try to know everything and they tend to have you going in circles for a while. I also appreciate that if I mention wanting a specific test done, she doesn't get upset and is more than willing to help me get it done. She believes in preventative care and is extremely professional. Her offices are clean and well run, she truly cares about her patients, and she is easy to talk to. Since money was always an issue for me, she went out of her way to give me samples or discount coupons on my prescription medications, when they were available. She also made sure to discuss every aspect of life with me that would affect my health; such as diet, stress, excercise, family history, and overall well being. She has also given me excellent referrals and worked with my insurance companies to make sure that my preventative care is covered. Sometimes her office staff and nurses can be pushy or rude, since she is in a shared office complex with other doctors.

The girl that tried to take my blood took 5 tries before hitting a good vein. Of course it hurt and now my wrist ( where she finally got blood ) is swelled and hurting. I don't know if she was in experienced or just had a bad day but I think more training might be a good idea. P.S. I am writing to share a concerning experience regarding the pre-authorization process handled by a…read morestaff member named Tiffany. Over the course of several weeks, I made multiple phone calls in an effort to obtain a time-sensitive pre-authorization for an upcoming MRI appointment. Despite clearly communicating that my appointment was scheduled within four days, I was repeatedly told that the process would take "weeks," without any apparent urgency or attempt to explore alternative solutions. During this time, I was asked to obtain information from the hospital that my insurance company had already provided, resulting in unnecessary back-and-forth communication and added stress. I personally contacted both the hospital and my insurance company multiple times to try to facilitate the process, yet there was little evidence of follow-through or proactive assistance from Tiffany. Additionally, I left messages with my primary care provider's office and did not receive timely responses, which further compounded the issue. Unfortunately, this experience affected not only my time but also my trust in the coordination of care. My husband had taken time off work for an appointment that ultimately could not proceed due to the lack of pre-authorization. This issue was resolved with a 20 minute conversation call to Dr. John Shelton's ENT office. While I value my primary care provider Ms. Megan Hughes and would prefer to remain under her care, this experience has caused me to reconsider due to the administrative challenges and lack of support. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used as an opportunity to improve communication, responsiveness, and patient support within the pre-authorization process.
