She's been doing my color, cuts and treatments for some time now and she's the first hair stylist I met that actually pays attention and really wants to know how you want your hair done, so she can satisfy you in the best way possible. She also makes sure you understand what can and can not be done (depending on previous damage or color treated hair) so that you don't lose the integrity of your hair or texture. I think she is misunderstood for her sternness and being straightforward. From my experience she's very compassionate and even contacted me after my hair appt to check on how I liked my hair. You are not allowed to pay with a credit card because she has to "pay" a charge for using a credit card. If she does not want to pay the charge than she should not accept credit cards as a payment. She gives her employees attitudes and does not provide any guidance when you have a beginner doing your hair. When you set an appointment with Lisa herself, she is not doing your hair, someone who just started doing hair is doing it. First time visitors are not welcomed because you feel very uncomfortable. I will never go back. I would rather go to Sheek in Passaic, I only didn't go because they were booked. To improve Lisa's Touch service, you should be more welcoming to paying customers to get more referrals. Watch your Instagram account with salon humor because pictures of comments such as hurting someone with scissors is not a good look. Hot tools should be updated at least every five years. I've always seen people talk about Lisa and how great her work on Instagram is. They are not wrong if you look on her page, her work looks amazing. I finally decided to book an appointment. I paid a $35 deposit for a consult. This consult was not inside of the salon but in the back under a tent. This was fine with me because I understood I was the last client of the day and with Covid she just wanted to be safe. Which is fine since we were just talking. I believe it was supposed to be 30 min long. Which it was not. Not even 15 minutes. I told her I wanted to be as blonde as possible. Showed her a picture , she stated that she did not like to critique people's work. But still critiqued the other hairstylists work. She told me that color was done wrong and she would do it right. I did not say anything since she is the hairstylist I trusted her to inform me what blonde would match me. I paid a $200 deposit with a 6% charge (pretty sure the % isn't supposed to be charged) the day of my appointment I was early and she was very attentive because someone was before me for a tone and she did not want to make me wait. But I was fine since I knew I was early. I was told I would be there for 5 hours. But I was barely there for 2 hours. She asked me again day of what I was getting which was weird because she wrote it down. It's like she didn't remember. But that is okay I showed her the picture two more times. Her staff was pleasant. The conversation was okay. But she kept on saying little comments about my hair that was rude. When my hair was in good condition. The day of the consult, she never said the integrity of my hair was bad / it would take multiple sessions to get what I want. So day of when she was saying this it was annoying because it was never mentioned before. Long story short I did not get the color I wanted. I messaged her with my concern & it was not handled professionally. I paid $500 for my hair to be basically the same. She brought the color up a bit because I did have growth but did not give me what I wanted. My main concern was that I did not want brown tones. I said this multiple times. She said she understood but still gave me brown tones. I've been coming to Lisa for almost 2 years now, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. She somehow remembers (better than even I do) how I'd like my hair cut. She also makes great suggestions on changing up the style and listening to what kind of look you want. She even gave me a nice beard trim a few times. She's very sociable and personable, and I genuinely enjoy my time in there. I usually call the morning of and they usually can work me in. Also, very rarely do I have to wait more than a few minutes from when I arrive for my appointment. Booking a consultation for $35 and not being able to reschedule is a scam, poor "company" policy and unprofessional. If someone pays you $35 they will be attending the appointment, regardless of when it was scheduled. As a benefit of the doubt, even a 24hr or 48hr consultation is understandable. I decided to go back but I explained that I was not happy with a ten min consul and wanted to use that money towards a credit on my first appointment. They did honor that, good. I ended up getting a cut and color which I was very happy with. Every time I asked Lisa a question, she appeared bothered by it. I brought in the products I was currently using and she would even look at them. She goes, " I don't use those products so I don't know anything about them." Like c.mon u can't help guide me if ur such an expert. She kept walking away thinking I was going to leave but I was determined that she look at my products. She came back and looked extremely annoyed by me. I felt uncomfortable asking her anything. The only way she talks to you Is IF you PAY FOR HER TIME by getting a consultation. I understand time is money but when ur in the back drinking and eating and kissing your boyfriend ur not making any money. Believe me I do not go on here to write bad reviews about people but I had enough and people maybe this will help her change her attitude and be more welcoming. The look of the place is also pretty bad hopefully they fix it but you can look past that if the service was better. The final thing that happened to me was I missed an appointment with her because of a true personal emergency. I called to tell her what happened and reschedule my appointment and her secretary is told to tell me I have to pay (I think it was like$75) for the missed appointment. I said WTF why? She said because she lost money because of me. I completely understand if this is your policy HOWEVER, no one EVER told me this. If this is your policy you should clearly tell people this so that they know. When I told her that no one told me about this she said, "Well by you confirming your appointment you should know." Wth does that even mean. You mean to tell me I'm supposed to assume that you charge? I have been to many salons and if you miss and appointment so be it, they do not charge you they just take walk ins. What is this a lawyers office or doctors office? Terrible service and I feel bad that I told many people about her after my first visit even though I didn't like her attitude but did like her talent. I only went here because Tiffany from Tiffany tattoos goes here and her hair looks beautiful however, after talking to her I learned that she makes her own conditioners which is why her hair is so healthy. I wanted to cut all the bad hair away and start nice and fresh. I showed her 3 different pics of what I wanted and I wanted her to put into my own look. I was super nervous because I did this once b4 and it went awesome. And I wanted it to go the same. The girl was chill and she understood everything I wanted. I felt like I was explaining myself to Lisa. But she was into everything else around her that it she wasn't listening to me. She just did whatever she wanted not what I wanted. She expressed that I took the place for someone that had canceled. So I got out of work super early and made it there on time just so that she took time on my hair and did what I wanted done. I've never in my life has a experience like this. I was rushed and I got all my hair chopped off. Everything. What was left was the top of my hair. She then started telling me that my scalp had build up. Mind you I went to the hair salon once a week. The next day I was so scared I actually went to the doctors. And there was nothing wrong with me but a dry scalp. Another 2 hours wasted. She made me feel horrible. And my hair is so chopped up. It's crazy. So uneven everywhere. I'm actually sitting in someone else's chair to fix the mess she did. I'm so upset that I went with this lady Lisa because of the young lady I follow Tiffany tattoos and her hair is awesome but realizing that Lisa did her color and nothing more. I came to Lisa's salon after quarantine. The last time I had my hair done was in January. However due to circumstances and everything closing down left with with no choice. I decided to choose this salon after my hair dresser had passed away. I had explained to the girl over the phone exactly what I wanted she told me it would be around $200.00. I was required to leave a $106 deposit which I did. The day of my appointment I came into the salon requesting an ice blonde color which I always had. I had some regrowth of natural hair since it had been some time that I last got it done. I asked for a balayage and was told it wasn't possible that I needed to do baby lights instead. Lisa insisted that she tone my roots down since they had a little tint of gold in it. However I insisted I didn't want my roots touched since I never had done that before. Fine I let her do it since I trusted her. However after 5 hours of being in the salon due to her staff didn't book my appointment correctly she also took two haircuts in between me. I come to realize after my hair was washed I had a blue tint by my roots. Lisa stated it would wash out after two washes which it didn't. I messaged her about the issue as well as my hair started turning yellow and she had me come into the salon same day so she can remove the blue and retone my hair. After she retoned my hair it looked so much better and felt like a relief that I can finally wear my hair down again. However not even a week after she corrected it and toned my hair started turning yellow again! It was like have two toned hair I hated it. I messaged her again about the problem I was having and she requested for me to make an appointment to have it retoned again. Me being in the profession and having my license as well I went to the salon store to purchase toner and did it myself. After toning it, i got so many compliments verses when she had done my hair, everyone would say i see blue or yellow. After paying $490.00 I had this many problems with my hair it wasn't worth it at all. She tried to say she did color correction however she matched the outgrow hair to my roots and toned it. The price was absolutely absurd and I will never recommend anyone to this salon ever. I requested to receive half my money back since I was not satisfied. However she was very unprofessional about it and stated that "It's people like you that can't afford the look they want" So you complain to get it done for free" That's not how you talk to clients, the price wasn't a problem until after all the problems I had encountered. I liked my haircut but honestly would never go back, had an horrible experience. I needed a hairstylist close by since I go to New York to get my haircut, and I can't go as often as I need to since I'm always working or at school. I asked around and checked online and found Lisa's. I called that morning and got an appointment right away. As soon as I got there I was greeted by Josie. Only waited for about 5minutes. There was only one other girl who was getting her hair colored. As soon as my hair was washed and sat down for Lisa. That's when it all began. Lisa started cutting my hair ( I have straight and very long hair ) as soon as she started cutting Josie try to sweep behind her. Suddenly Lisa started yelling at her right next to my ear, about how she can't do that and she needs to wait. Lisa tells me to get up and look straight since I have long hair. She gives you the time to ask her questions. She also tells you how to maintain your hair after the process is done. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I found Lisa online and really admired her work so I decided to come in to get a cut and dye job. I met up with Lisa, who seemed like a nice, attentive person during our consultation and she explained to me that before I can dye my hair the color I wanted, I needed to do a treatment for my hair, which alone was over $300. Then I had to strip my hair, (she couldn't tell me how many sessions I would need), which is another $200-300 PER session. So overall I would be spending over $700 and I'd still be waiting for the cut and dye job! She had me leave a $100 deposit so I could book my appointment (which by the way, wouldn't be for another MONTH AND A HALF) and I asked her about her refund policy if I were to cancel because I'm not a very decisive person and I wanted some time to think about it. She told me as long as I called two weeks before my appointment date, I could get my money back. So I called her back to cancel a week later after thinking it over and realizing it would cost me over a grand to get the final product. I call her a whole month before my appointment date, and she CHANGES HER POLICY and tells me the deposit is non refundable. We had some back and forth talk and then she tells me I can get my money back if someone else comes in and books an appointment for that date. Otherwise, I can kiss my money goodbye. As soon as she heard the frustration in my voice, she hangs up on me. I had to call my bank and file a claim against her so I could get my money back. Such a headache!!!!
