This lady is an amazing trove of historical information and that is why I love it. Julie knows what these things are, their provenance and the detailed history behind each piece. She is an expert in the field and farmhouse style antiques is what Julie eats, sleeps and breaths, 24/7. And the inventory! I honestly don't know how she constantly finds such incredible items. Every time I stop by, it seems like 1/3 of the store is stuff I hadn't seen before. Over the years I have bought a table, some stoneware and many a fist full of silverware (and she has a TON of it). She has an absolutely gorgeous cabinet that I drool over every time I am there, but I just don't have the room for it sadly. Trust me, you'll love the store, don't listen to the Karen's. And yeah, if you break something she'll probably get testy with you, I know I would. So my advice? Don't go around picking up and breaking things that say "PLEASE do not touch!". LOL!

Can a thrift shop be quiet but bustling? That's how I would describe this store. It's off the…read morebeaten main street of Kent, next to a church. It promises it donates profits from the store to charity, and is in a converted house. It does have a parking lot separate from the church, and has a ramp entrance as well as stairs. Inside there are about four rooms of shopping, mostly clothes. So many clothes. Women's, children's, probably men's in the room I skipped. There's also stuff interspersed - toys with kids, jewelry decorating the fireplace in the women's clothing room, and a room in back with nice glassware. On the glass - someone is doing their research. They're not priced unfairly ($6 for a vintage character glass), but they are priced what someone may charge trying to resell it, so it may feel steeper than what you normally see at a thrift shop. But it is for charity, and when a sale tag had been inadvertently stuck to an item I was interested in, they did work with me. Definitely interesting selections!

Long story short, we picked up a few chairs from the store and one had a tear in it no to long after getting it home. No fault of anyone's.... most likely just an imperfection. Mark, the owner, was quick on the case and resolved the issue in a timely matter, emailing me throughout the process to keep me in the loop as he dealt with the actual manufacturer. In the end, he called me directly and let me know that he personally was replacing the chair and standing behind the merchandise he sells. As the owner of a customer service company, i cant stress enough what this means to me in a day and age where no one seems to take responsibility for anything.
