Jason at J&J answered the phone and scheduled an appointment. He and his wife came out and inspected our 2 chimneys. Photos from inside the wood stove chimney showed a large build up of creosote partially obstructing the chimney. this is likely why the smoke had been blowing back into the room. It showed me that the prior chimney repair company had done a poor job of cleaning our chimney. J&J chimney removed the blockage, put in a steel liner, did repairs on the other 2 chimneys, and did so for a better price than i had been quoted before. they brought a vacuum and cleaned up after themselves. i am pleased with their work and will use them again and again, and recommend them to others. it's hard to find people these days who do a good job, are honest, on time, do what they say, and answer the phone.

Came out in a timely manner. Checked the unit and got it lit almost immediately. Asked what the problem was and he joked saying that it was magic. Got the bill a few days later for $169!! Obviously, I was shocked. Seems they should have told us before taking on the service call that they charge $300/hour. The invoice stated, "reprogrammed the remote". I sent them 2 emails advising of my question regarding the charges, but they never gave me the courtesy of a response. I cannot recommend this company.

My husband and I do most home renovating work on our own and knew they were trying to take us for an extra buck. A1 Able was not only reasonably priced, but they were extremely knowledgeable and helped us diagnose and solve issues and questions we we had with both our wood fire place and coal burning stove. Our chimney was a pain with all of the bends it had in the flue, but they were able to get it done no problem. They were quick to get the jobs completed before the cold nights upon us and very professional. Generated at most 1-2 gallons of debris during the cleaning but claimed it was illegal for him to take it and dispose of it. Local PA DEP office said there is no special regulation for oil fired residential chimney buildup material. The worst was he forgot to reinstall one of the chimney pipe support straps. Called him within one hour of leaving and notified him by phone message but he could not be bothered to call back or return. Luckily, owner noticed it and reinstalled himself.

Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I kept a copy of his card, for future reference, and of course had another issue when the weather turned cold.
