One of the only Asian grocery stores in the Cincinnati area. It primarily focuses on Korean foods and has authentic ingredients for just about everything you could need. It also has quite a good selection of soju to go with whatever dishes you plan on making. The store is very small, but it has quite a lot of variety. You have to be looking for it, but once you find this hidden gem, you'll be glad you did! It was President's Day, so I called and they were open. I arrived and it's a small storefront by square footage, but they make the absolute best of everything they have - I asked for a certain seasoning and the clerk took me to the section I needed. Of course, not everything is written in English, so she helped me translate a little bit too. I asked if there was a treat my grandson might enjoy, and she took me to the other side of the store and introduced me to the entire seaweed section. Amazing! I picked out a snack stack and made my way back to the house. Dinner was amazing, and I know it was because of the quality seasoning I was able to pick up. Little Asiana is the cutest supermarket. It's reminiscent of the local Asian grocery stores in Flushing, NY. After a Google search, I stopped in by to buy kimchi. Note to those who love kimchi, please stop buying it from WF and TJ's and shop here instead. Not only do they have different varieties including vegan kimchi, they also have other Korean and Japanese specialties and cookware/utensils. I also picked up ramen, frozen kimchi dumplings, Korean pancakes and a few spices. The only thing missing is a prepared cold/hot food bar similar to what you'd find in an HMart. Little Asiana is a well-stocked Asian grocery (full of Korean necessities). If I lived in Cincinnati, this would be my go-to since it's close to where my son lives. I was coming in from 71 N and had no trouble finding Little Asiana (without GPS), coming off Ronald Reagan Cross County Hwy. There's a great selection of fresh produce and various kinds of kimchi in the refrigerated section. I didn't need any of those items this trip, but I was impressed by the selection offered. The store isn't overwhelmingly large and chaotic, the man who I think is the owner was nice and welcoming. The one thing that I appreciated at Little Asiana was price stickers on the products and shelves! I've been to quite a few Asian markets where prices on products aren't always displayed. If you're expecting a large Asian grocery store with appliances, clothes, and skincare, this isn't it. For everyday essentials like bags of rice, various ramyeon, frozen foods, produce, condiments and snacks, this store is perfect. read more

As a Korean-American from K-Town, coming to Little Asiana was a blessing to find in Ohio! I found all the Korean food I needed. There's a lot of frozen foods, dry goods, and, of course, kimchi. One exception is there is no cooked food or fresh meat available that a traditional market like H-Mart would have. But in Ohio, Little Asiana will do! I love supporting this mom and pop market every time I visit my family in Cincy. read more

It took a while to find this store, hidden behind the United Dairy Farmers convenience store and filling station. The little strip mall seems to be in an unlikely area for a Korean grocery store. The prices seem to be influenced by the real estate but they're still reasonable. They had the soon dubu--the really, really extra soft tofu sold in tubes, along with the spice mix so that you can make your own jjigae--Korean stew. They also had the side dish containers of anchovies, often found in the ban chan at a Korean restaurant, or merely served at home on some daikon (white radish) but the price was about double what I expected, as the container was small. I found the UCC Milk Coffee that I like so well, even though it's a Japanese product. Apparently, the person at the register didn't know English, as "Hello" was all she said. I would have expected some Korean, but there wasn't any of that, either, even though she was having a conversation as I entered the store. Y&M has more of a variety of products, but if you need something specifically Korean (dried, refrigerated, or frozen), it's likely here, because it seemed as though any daily food items for a Korean family could be found. read more

This business is great. They stock very high quality ingredients. It's understandable that the average customer will say that the products are more expensive than jungle jims - that's because this is a specialized store and they stock the actual good stuff. I was so pleased to see dried sardines, tteboki ingredients, a whole section on gochujang, a good stock of kimchi, at least 5 varieties of roasted sesamie oil, etc. From what I can see, their three aisles of product selection is more than enough. They don't have a fresh meat selection, but they do have a small freezer with bulgolgi meat, and the thinly sliced porkbelly to make foods like Samgyeopsal - yum! I did my weekly shopping, and I'm so excited to start cooking! Made from ingredients from this wonderful store! Purple rice (very healthy, they serve this at Stone Bowl restaurant on Madison), bulgolgi with the bulgolgi marinating sauce, Korean style potato salad (fresh ingredients from Trader Joe's), spinach sautéed with toasted sesame oil with a sprinkle of sesame seeds, and tteboki made with their frozen rice cake and fish cake with the gochujang (spicy pepper chili paste). This market specializes in Korean goods. I stopped by to buy some kimchi. But I couldn't help but also buy some other goods. In the freezer, you can buy pre-marinated bulgogi and kalbi meat. I got the bulgogi. It's a good amount of meat for $9. I wish they would also sell some ban-chan like H-mart. But happy that a place like this exists in Cincinnati. read more

This place is hidden behind a UDF. It's a great alternative for Asian groceries when you don't feel like a long drive to Jungle Jim's. I wish it was a little cleaner on the inside. Nothing looked like it had been cleaned in ages. I guess that adds to this places authenticity though, because my experiences shopping in Taiwan have produced similar dirtiness levels. The store it self has 3 aisles of groceries. My favorite section is the candy treats from overseas. There are also two separate walls of freezer/refrigerated sections. Love that this little grocery store is in my neighborhood! Hidden behind a UDF (as other reviewers have mentioned), it has a nice variety of canned, frozen, and fresh goods. Run by there when I'm short on short-grained rice, or in need of silken tofu. They have a refrigerated section where they sometimes have my favorite thing to buy there, a fish-based spicy Korean soup base. You just add water and your fav fish and/or veggies. Great on a cold day! They also have fresh veggies. Of course, because they are a mom and pop store, some days the veggies are more plentiful and fresher than others. There is a frozen section with a variety of meat cuts for Asian cooking. There are also frozen noodles, pot stickers for convenience. They also have some Japanese staples, but the majority is Korean. The owner is always friendly and helpful. Much quicker to do a fast stop/shop here than a larger store. read more

A small family-owned Korean grocery tucked away behind the UDF. It's an obscure and bizarre location, but it's worth the search. Little Asiana is a place that offers what you cannot get anywhere else in Cincinnati. Though it is small, cramped, and you will leave smelling a bit like fish, their hard-to-come-by goods make it all worthwhile. The store offers a wide selection of fresh vegetables, seafood, dumplings, meats, imported spices and sauces, unique snack foods, noodles, and of course, Kim Chi (a Korean staple). The staff is comprised of some of the nicest people I have ever met. They pass the time watching Korean dramas on television, but they are more than willing to help you find what you need. If you plan to grab some groceries to try a new Asian recipe (they have foods from Japan and China as well), Little Asiana is the place to go. read more

I've driven by Little Asiana several times and never knew it existed - that is until a Korean friend of mine told me to go check it out. Even then it took several passes to find it! It's really tucked away but I'm glad to have found it. The store is really small but is jam packed with goodies. If it is Korean, they have it. They've got a lot of the great stuff I've looked for elsewhere but couldn't find (like soju!) so if you need Korean anything this is definitely THE place to go. Like most of the really great international markets around Cincinnati, you can drive right past this place and completely miss it without ever realizing what you're missing out on. Little Asiana lives up to its name - the store is nothing if not cramped - but what it lacks in spaciousness it makes up for in content. The staff is extremely friendly, to the point where you almost feel like you've been invited into their home. On top of that they have all the more obscure Korean items you generally can't find at CAM or Jungle Jim's like black rice, boricha and soju. They also have a smattering of Japanese and Chinese products to even things out. If you plan on giving any Korean recipes a try, stop here for your ingredients. The spot is a bit tricky to find, honestly, but if you have lived in Cincinnati--more specifically, Montgomery--area, it should be easy to find if you've been there once!
