Hidden gem at northside hongkong style restaurant. They used to open til 2am before covid hits, but now they close early. One of my favorite is their chinese BBQ pork. Make sure to request extra sweet sauce! Service- excellent, very friendly. I'm a returning customer and every time I visit them, they never disappoint me. Highly recommend. read more

We stopped by this restaurant for a family dinner. After looking over the menu, we ordered a number of items to share. This was a solid 3.5 star Hong Kong style restaurant. Food was okay. I found the portion size to be on the smaller side and not the best quality. The salted fish and chicken fried rice did not have much salted fish flavour. The chicken wings were alright. The mango pudding and ice lemon tea tasted watered down. My milk tea was okay, but it is hard to mess that up. I was surprised it was karaoke night. There was a number of tone deaf people singing and enjoying their meal. Definitely, a rare sight to see even at back in Vancouver. read more

We came here after doing some groceries at Lucky Supermarket. A bit hungry as we hadn't had lunch and decided to have lunch and dinner together I enjoy Hong Kong style restaurants since I came to Canada. I found they have a similar taste to Chinese Indonesian foods. We chose a Chef's Special with any 2 items that are listed. This menu came with soup of the day and steamed rice. After seeing the list of choices, we picked Szechuan Style Pepper Chicken and Deep Fried Spicy Squids. Portion is pretty big for us so we took some leftover home. Location is pretty good. Very disappointing. I drove 45 minutes from the south side to try this place and while the presentation was good, the amount of chicken I got on their specialty Hoinan chicken rice was super disappointing. The picture I posted shows how good it looks but all I got was the equivalent of a thigh. It was all skin and bones and no meat. Considering the price, it was super disappointing. We ordered other items too and I can still say, meat is scarce in all the dishes. I can't recommend going back but if I was in the neighbourhood, I might give it another try. read more

Every time we call here and ask for delivery they have some wacky excuse for not being able to deliver like "our driver never showed up" or "our driver is delivering to the south side and we have no idea when he will be back". Then they recommend you order through Uber which costs you an extra $10.00. When you tell them it cost you more to get it via Uber they claim they didn't know it cost extra..right, they think Uber does the deliveries for free? This has been the third time we have requested delivery and the third time they have turned us down. We live less than 1.5km from them but somehow that have no ability to deliver their food as stated on their website! So why don't you take this off your website because you can NEVER deliver as you state, it's not true. You can't even deliver an order that is 1.5KM away! Your website states: "Free Delivery All Orders Over $35 within 5Km" My advice...order from an honest place that doesn't lie about delivery. It's not free and they can never do it when you ask. It's Friday night and they still can't get this simple task done. They should change the name to "Little Lie" instead of "Little Bee". Being in Edmonton for a couple days, my mom and I decided to try this HK style cafe for a late lunch, esp since we had learnt that it changed names about 1 yr ago but had yet to try. It was such a late lunch that we were pretty much into afternoon tea time hence the discounted menu! Atmosphere: 4/5 Trendy and clean, since the restaurant is still relatively newly opened with spacious and comfortable seating. Located conveniently on 127st with a few other restaurants and lucky 97 on site. Adequate parking. The restaurant was relatively quiet since it was getting late for lunch, but there were definitely a few regular customers having afternoon tea. Overall comfortable and clean. Food: 4/5 We ordered from the afternoon tea menu and had the bbq pork noodles and congee+ hk style rice noodle combo. We loved that the food came piping hot!! Good portion size and very tasty. The sauces for the hk style rice noodles were good but a bit much so I would probably get them on the side next time. The bbq pork noodle bowl was good; however there were only 5-6 slices which we were expecting more. I love congee so was satisfied especially since I have not had thousand year egg and pork for a while! They re-opened not that long ago under new ownership. The inside still looks the same, however, the food seems much better and also great portions (my parents agreed too). I have gone here twice since it's re-opened and both times were not disappointed. One way to judge if a Chinese restaurant is doing their food right is if there's usually majority of Asians there haha...happy to say this place is one of those places. Dishes average from $9-13, but they also have some specials in the back of menu for $8.95. My parents always order one of those, trust me, they are more than enough to be shared between 2 people. For 3 people you can easily be fed for $25-30 and still have some leftovers. There is only one thing I did not like. They have a policy that for anything under $30, it's cash only. I'm the type to never carry cash, as I usually pay by debit card. I can understand having a policy for no credit card for anything under $5 or whatever, but this seems a bit extreme. They don't have a sign at the entrance, only by the cash register. That's another issue, if they are going to do that, then put it by the front door to warn those that don't carry cash (so one star off). That's my only gripe. Otherwise, great service and food. I will definitely go back when I don't feel like hitting Chinatown and want something close by, this is now one of my regular places I like to hit close to home. read more

The food is definitely delicious but the value is definitely questionable sometimes. I'm not usually one to complain about cost but $19 for a "large" takeout congee seemed a bit high. It consisted of two small containers. Same with the fish maw soup, I think that was 25 for the same size. I can't really say it was worth it 100% but still really tasty. read more

I was traveling through on 127th Street when I noticed that this restaurant has reopened. I was at that location before, when it is a different "bee" restaurant. Back then, the food was not good, everything tasted too funky for my palate, so I stopped going. Now that it has reopened under a slightly different name, why not give it a try again. The decoration within is almost identical to the old place, I would almost say, NOTHING CHANGED, other than the name changed slightly. But most importantly for any Chinese food joint, IT IS CLEAN, OMG, even the bathroom is clean! What I do find amusing is that for a Chinese restaurant, the two televisions were tooned to an English news channel and a Korean soap channel. The place was not busy, there were about 4 tables at 12:30pm. Service was quick and efficient; it could be a little friendlier but hey, this is a cheap Chinese food joint, one must settle for quick and efficient. The complimentary tea was drinkable. As my companion pointed out, there is a hint of honey in the tea. Was it good? No. Was it drinkable? Yes. Was it free? Yes, so absolutely no complaining happening there. We ordered two of the lunch specials. First up was the Hainan Chicken Rice, the platter was served with a good size serving of perfectly cooked, bright yellowly chicken rice; a small plate of lettuce covered with oyster sauce; a bowl of mystery soup du jour; and a small plate of chicken for $13. The rice was good, borderline on fantastic, very favourful, I like it, I like it a lot. The lettuce was limp and over sauced to be point of being gross (unless you scrape off the oyster sauce first. The soup du jour was a mysterious milky coloured soup with a piece of pork bone there; it tasted okay but probably not something I would order on its own. The chicken was good, served cold, nice tumeric coloured skin with some ginger scallion dip; the portion was very small, I think we had about 2/3 of a drumstick and a few pieces of chicken back. The chicken to rice proportion was simply wrong, a big giant bowl of rice with a few bony pieces of chicken. Was it an okay dish, yes. Would I like more chicken, absolutely. Did I get value for $13, questionable. We also ordered the Indonesian Prawn fried noodles. That took a long time to come, we almost finished our chicken rice before it arrived; but it came super duper pipping hot, which I liked. The noodles were good with an abundance of prawns. 8 good size prawns in a $13 plate of noodles is fantastic. It can use a bit more seasoning; fortunately, the hot chili oil at the table is good and flavourful. Combined the noodles and the readily available chili oil, you have an awesome dish. Was it a okay dish, absolutely; if fact, I would give it a "better than good" rating. Would I like more prawns, absolutely, but I certainly wasn't disappointed with 8 huge prawns on a single plate. Did I get value for $13, yes! One thing which deserve its own paragraph is the jar of chili sauce/paste/oil which is found on every table! It is not the usual bright saracha type of sauce/paste you find in most restaurant. It is also not the usual chili flakes soaked in red oil you find in other Chinese joints. This one has the heat from chilies, has a good doze of shallots and garlic mixed in; I would almost venture a guess that there is some dried shrimps bits in it. It was flavourful and I would highly recommend for spicy food fan. I do sincerely apologize for not having pictures for you folks, it is a personal rule to not take my camera out when I am dining with company. Overall, for $26 and change, lunch for two was good! Service was excellent, if only they would add some free smiles to it. Food came quick enough although there is a 10 min. gap between dishes. The food was a little mixed, the chicken rice can use some improvement but the prawn noodles were spot on. Would I return? Yes, I want to try a few other dishes before truly passing judgment on this joint. read more

A coworker took me to the Little Bee for lunch one day, and I was hooked. I couldn't wait to take the family there. The dishes are just so different from the usual offerings at most westernized Chinese food restaurants. We loved the fried rice offerings, and I would suggest the spicy seafood fried rice. My suggestion is to stretch yourself a little bit, and order a couple dishes you wouldn't normally order. Enjoy! read more

The food here is pretty decent taste wise but the service is really lacking. My husband called to make reservations for 12 people. When we arrived they had stuck us in a booth that realistically fits 7-8 people, yet they had a family of 8 sitting at a big banquet size round table that looked to fit 12. When I asked if they had made reservations like us, the server said no but that BIG BANQUET SIZE table wouldn't fit 12 people. We were so squished all night, yet that family of 8 had enough room to fit extra chairs in between each seat. My brother had ordered a beef brisket noodle soup and about 20 mins later, the server comes out and asks if he can order something else. When he asked why, she said "oh the kitchen is really busy"... Wtf.... Too busy to make food off your menu during dinner? My brother asked what he could order and the server told him family style dishes. When he said he still wanted it and would take the dish to go, the server reluctantly keep the order. The to -go order ending up coming out 5 m8ns later all packed up.
