TL;DR: a good place for drinks and food. Their selection is quite nice. I particularly liked the quality of their ingredients in their beverages. One of the big let-downs appertains to the poor condition of the dining area and awkward design choices. However, they make up for it in their incredibly friendly service. Tasty Choice is super tasty! This was my first time visiting and I felt that the interior design of the store is really awkward but casual. One of the things I would criticize them for is the tattered furniture and I feel like there is too much cluttered knick-knacks laying around. The decoration is not cohesive at all. I feel like the whole dining area could use a renovation or more love. The use of duct-tape looks super unappealing but I will not judge harshly as these may be only temporary. I really hope they design this place better in the future. Nonetheless, I understand that this is a local business and times may not always be the best in terms of financials. I found the service to be super friendly! I really appreciated the welcoming attitude and genuine smiles I received. It's appreciated! The select foods I personally ordered, apart from my friends, were good. Takoyaki: I found this appetizer to be very tasty -- as the name of the store implies -- and delicious. I really liked the presentation, it looked incredibly yummy. It was simple but I would definitely order this again. Mango Real Fruit Juice with Milk: I found this beverage to be very good. I really liked the mango flavour that they used, I'm quite sure they used real mango juice not from powder (which is expected from the name of the beverage). Stopped by for a snack with my sister before heading home. I decided to try one of their crepes. I got the mango crepe to go. It was ok, nothing special. They even used sweet mango instead of the seasonal, easier to get sour mangoes, which I appreciated. The problem was there wasn't a lot of mango pieces in my crepe, and even then some of them were cut so close to the seed that I got hard chunks. Came here again last night but I don't think we will be back. Our items did not come as ordered/pictured - My bubble tea came without milk (I ordered milky style) and with the wrong lychee pieces. My husband's bubble tea, however, did come as ordered. We sat down and decided to play a game of jenga from their pile of games. While I love that they offer games here, it was unfortunate that the boxes and games themselves were quite tattered and very dirty. None the less, Jenga is always a great time! Next, we decided to give their crepes a try in case the last time we came was an off day. Unfortunately, both crepes disappointed and did not come as pictured on the menu. The Banana Split crepe was the biggest disappointment - the flavours were not good and there was not half a banana as pictured but rather a few slices stuck at the bottom so you didn't get to experience any banana with ice cream which was also lacking. What I had expected to be whipped cream was some sort of fluff which I can only guess was an oil based product as it didn't taste at all like any form of whipped cream on either of our crepes. Our second crepe was the Match Cha which was also disappointing. We ended up throwing out the crepes and ran and grabbed some chinese takeout to bring home. We had contemplated on trying a few of the menu items but the couple sitting next to us with their kids had voiced loudly enough for us to hear that they were not happy with their meals and that they didn't taste right. If you lived close by and were only coming in for Bubble Tea, this might be the place for you but we've given Tasty Choice four tries now with mixed and disappointing results. Choice is good. Right? Well, normally I would say yes but Tasty Choice is one of those places where the options are endless and the menu is massive (literally, the menu is big enough for your grandma to see without her having to squint with her glasses on). Let's just say I'm a bigger fan of places that focus on one or a few things that they excel in. It's called finding your "niche" market - at least that's what marketing would say. We came to Tasty Choice for a little snack time and bubble tea draaanks. Look how bright and colourful the counter is, along with their endless selection of choices. They even have ramen here (someone please try it and report back for me, I don't have much faith). Lots of ghetto, somewhat comfy chairs to sit in (ghetto meaning there's some solid masking tape covering up the holes in the chairs, hahaha). Asian dramas on the TV's. Cool looking posters plastered along the walls. We ordered a couple things to share: - Real fruit mix berry milk BBT ($5.50 large) with passion fruit pieces ($0.95 extra) - the best part about this BBT was the passion fruit pieces. This was my second time coming to Tasty Choice so I thought I'd give another flavour a try. I think for our first visit we had peach and mango BBT - if that gives any indication of things, it was unmemorable. I guess their BBT can be summed up in one word - decent. Not great but not bad either. - Tea with milk (HK style) ($2.95) - you can get this drink hot or cold. My friend went with hot as it was freezing outside. I tried a sip and it's definitely not for my taste buds. Must be one of those "acquired" tastes. - Fruitie paradise crepe ($6.99) - we wanted to try their mango dessert but unfortunately, it's only seasonal meaning no mango dessert. Sad face. Instead, we settled with trying one of their Japanese crepes. My expectations were low and that's exactly how the fruitie paradise crepe turned out. Bland, floppy and not very satisfying come to mind. The crepe was supposed to have banana, mixed fruit, strawberry, peach, mango, creme, chocolate and strawberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. They give you a fistful of cream but boy, they sure do skimp out on everything else. The ice cream was probably the best part of the crepe. I wouldn't get this again, but hey, I wasn't expecting much in the first place. Overall, Tasty Choice is decent for what it's worth. If you stick with BBT, you'll probably be okay and if you're into loyalty cards, you can build up your stamp collections. That are separate. Yikes. read more

Came here due to a coupon in the SUTP, and fell in love with their almond milk BBT with wheat germ. BEST. DRINK. EVER. I must confess that I haven't tried anything else on their menu. Every time I come, I have to have the almond BBT. They seem to have a pretty good selection for their drink menu. Crepes and the usual BBT snack fare are available there as well. Cash only, unless you spend over $10 (if I remember correctly). Don't expect any fancy or friendly service here; it is a Chinese establishment afterall. I would definitely come here more often if they weren't so far south. Plenty of free parking available. read more

My first time at this restaurant. It's nice and cozy and cute. Tried the beef udon and it tastes good. My girlfriend got the Korean beef rice bowl and that tasted good as well. Went there at 6:00 pm dinner time, nobody was there (should left the restaurant immediately, lol). Anyhow I still order 45 dollars worth of food, and they don't taste good at all. The food taste worse than food court ones but charge way more than food court. The cashier is not very nice, quite disappointed. I went to CoCo bubble tea right after the dinner, which is almost right next to Tasty choice. And CoCo was packed. Guess most of the people knows which store sells better bubble tea. read more

Such a waste of money, the noodles were undercooked and tasted of nothing but flour, the broth tasted spoiled to the point of almost being rotten and the "beef" DID NOT TASTE LIKE BEEF!!!... My husbands dish also tasted very off and old like it had been sitting out to spoil. We both had 1-2 bites and just ended up throwing it away. Yay, a closer location to get bubble tea at. It's not extraordinary or anything. I ordered a strawberry bubble tea with milk. I could tell it was made with real strawberries, that's a plus, but it was a little too icy. After drinking it for a while it made my throat become dry and more thirsty. Don't know if it was cause of the drink or cause of the ice cream and chicken wings i had earlier. But this place is okay, only reason i'd come back is if i don't feel like going too far. read more

I love the atmosphere. Made me feel like I'm in Asia. Bubble teas are so yummy. I tried green tea matcha. My son tried lychee real fruit slush and the tapioca was frozen and impossible to chew. We also had deep fried tofu and squid which we really like. Tuna sandwich was not good as per my kid. Pork with melted cheese on top was okay but not the best. Tasty Choice is apparently the new spot for Hong Kong style cafe food and drinks. Every day they have different lunch specials and your meal comes with a free milk tea or lemon tea drink. They serve bubble tea here, but they don't have a lot of mixed flavors. I've only been satisfied with their bubble tea 50% of the time. What stood out for me was seeing an entire family dine here; which I normally don't get to see at a bubble tea restaurant in Edmonton. I feel like I'm at home eating dinner and watching tv on the sofa when I'm here. Maybe it's because they have a flat screen tvs mounted on the wall and sofas to lounge on. Unless you are Chinese, you're not going to understand the shows. I have a 10% discount VIP card, a stamp card (buy 10 BBT and get 1 free .) and a Have Rice Card. (Pay $1 for spring rolls when you spend over $15) Tasty Choice surprised me by letting me use all 3 cards in one transaction! I would say this is probably the best reason why I come here! When my bf bit inside the wing it was COLD with blood coming out the chicken. It looked like the wing was just covered in sauce and cooked in the microwave. It is nice to see a variety of Asian dishes. Food is ok. The downside is that the TV is blasting its volumn and you can feel the vibration through your menu. And charging fees for tap water was not very nice, while we were having a full dinner there. My friends and I feel that it was not the most friendly atmosphere there. read more
