I went to 4/5 different schools and went i found this and did a tour I knew this was the one for them. These is not just a school, they treat my family and I as family. My boys learned so much from them in a span of few months being here. As Christian Montessori school they really are the best fit for my kids teaching school and values. We are so lucky to have found this place and enroll our daughter here. She has been enrolled since 15 months and is coming up on 7 months at the daycare. Ms. Viviana and Ms. Valerie are great and she has been learning so much. I can tell she loves school because she runs to the gate at drop off and walks confidently inside. After school, she is always mentioning her friends. I really love the community here and it does feel like a village of parents helping each other care for our children. There are also many opportunities for fun events to meet other parents. I really can't say enough good things about this daycare. It's clean, they provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks, and it's affordable. The activities are engaging and I really appreciate the practical life skills being taught. We feel so fortunate to have found CHLA! My son is now in his 2nd year there at 5 years old. The facility is intimate and not overwhelming, and is a welcoming family environment that helped ease my mind about my son's transition from home to school. We love the Montessori approach to the educational activities, but also practical life skills, responsibility, kindness, and courtesy lessons are an integral part of the program. Progress report meetings are comprehensive and helpful in informing us on how our son is doing on multiple levels of development. We have since noticed improvements in his ability to interact with other kids and adults alike, cope with anger/frustration, try different kinds of healthy foods, and take instruction from other adults (especially outside of home like doctors). The staff is very communicative and responsive to messages, they contact us immediately when there's an issue (boo-boo alerts, possible allergic reactions, etc.) and I look forward to the daily photos they post on the app that update us on the activities our son works on, his interactions with others, and the foods he eats. They also work hard to build a community for the families - organizing events, coffee club for moms, and even offering 'date nights', providing free childcare for a few hours while parents enjoy an evening together. All this to say that we feel that the wonderful staff at CHLA wholeheartedly care about our son's development, and about building a supportive and safe community for all the families. Our son started at Children's House LA when he was only 10 months old and is now 2 years old. One of the main things I looked for in a school was communication and openness, especially after not getting any of that with my oldest daughters pre-school. Mr. Marwin, Ms. Valerie, and Ms. Viviana are quick to respond to my messages via text, email, or brightwheel and I'm more at ease throughout the day when I get the cute picture updates. I love seeing what he's doing and what he's eating. My son is THRIVING, he knows his numbers, alphabet, and is even learning phonics. I'm truly blown away at how much he has grown and I credit a lot of that to CHLA for their care, attentiveness, initimate, and kid-friendly environment. My son always walks in with a big smile on his face, hands his sippy cup to Ms. Viviana and says "bye mommy!" I also appreciate the community they've built with the parents and siblings, always welcoming everyone to events at the school and outside of the school. I feel so lucky to have found Children's House LA!! After having many not-so-great experiences with several preschools with my oldest, I was extremely anxious finding a place I could trust for my son. I immediately knew this place was special when I met the teachers/staff. They were kind enough to let me visit with my son several times before his first day so that he could adjust easier. It felt so calm, and I could see my son thriving with the Montessori approach there. Almost a year later now, I get daily photos of him and of the amazing meals they prepare. I'm never worried if he's doing ok because they always reach out to let me know if anything happens and always respond to my messages quickly. They plan events for their families, for both fun and for support, and they give extremely thoughtful progress reports to show my son's academic and social development. My daughter attended this daycare for a year and I saw many changes and progress in her, she became very independent when it came to eating, washing her hands, and cleaning up after herself. What made me choose this daycare is that they use the Montessori method and this makes the children develop naturally according to their age. All the staff there is very good and communicative, they use an app to tell you if any accidents happened with the children and to send you photos of what they are doing. On a few occasions my daughter was bitten by another child and I was able to talk to the staff and they understood my concern perfectly, they apologized and did their best to solve the problem. My daughter learned a lot here and every morning she was ready to go with her friends, she still mentions the names of her friends saying that she wants to go with them, that means she was happy there and they treated her very well. We still get invited when they have any events, my daughter gets excited to see everyone, they treat us like family and make us feel at home. Our little girl has been with Children's House since she was a little over 2 years old, and my husband and I can't stress enough how glad we've been to enroll her. We have experiences with both Montessori and non-Montessori settings, and the top 3 things we love about Children's House are (1) Val and Marwin's consistent and constant application of Montessori principles (educating parents in the process), (2) their tailored and specific updates throughout the day, every day and (3) their dedication to maintaining an intimate, nurturing and small-group environment. Especially at our daughter's young age, number (3) has been such a contributor to her growth, confidence and ability to socialize with others (even though we were among parents who were initially skeptical of smaller schools/daycares). Believe me we are very picky when it comes to child care and had some bad experiences in the past..it is so hard to find a good place with good people who loves what they do. We're so sad having to leave Children's House LA due to our relocation to another state. CHLA is more than just a daycare for our son. It's his second home where he goes to see and socialize with friends, and learns from his teachers and grows mentally and physically.
