My daughter Sophia, now 3 years old, has been attending LTA for about a year and a half, and she absolutely adores her teachers. They made the potty training process smooth and stress-free, going above and beyond to support us every step of the way. My 20-month-old son, Elijah, recently joined and is already thriving. We had such a wonderful experience this summer at Little Treehouse Academy. We needed childcare unexpectedly for our little one, and I am so happy I called the folks behind the adorable sign on Reseda at Plummer. The school is set back from the busy street, and if you didn't know it was there, you'd miss this lovely vibrant learning center. The teachers and staff are so loving and focused on making a special environment for the kids there. The value you get for the price is so good--I couldn't believe they include three delicious meals a day on top of all of the engaging programming they do. Parents be aware. This daycare neglects the safety of the children and will flat out deny any incidents occurring on their watch to avoid citations from the CCL. Please do your homework and review the multiple reports of abuse. I personally heard the caregiver in the 3 & 4 y/o room yelling at the toddlers. I proceeded to confront the Director in that moment as to why she (the caregiver) was yelling at the children that way? The director Anna's response was "she's talking to another "teacher" which was completely false she was yelling at the children. She wasn't yelling at another caregiver ( "teacher") This daycare is horrible & will do anything to cover up. Places like this make it hard for the really great places out there. My daughter has been going here for almost a year now. The teachers really care about the little ones. When I first did a tour of the place what won me over was all the teachers assuring me my daughter would be walking within a week of being there and she was! Haha. She's 2 years old now and now almost fully potty trained and I owe mainly to them! They informed me she was ready and even put her on the toilet at school. They encouraged me to continue the training at home and with their help she's now potty trained during the day! I'm so grateful for this school and the caring staff! This is an amazing childcare that gave my child a great foundation before starting elementary school. It has a very home like atmosphere, and the teachers are amazing, they speak 3 or more languages and are very educated. They all went above and beyond when it came to not only my child but all the children under their care. I'm very happy with everything they provided. My son is 32 months old and he has been in my care since he was born so I was very hesitant to leave him with strangers. I work at CSUN and this school is right across the street which is why I chose it, and WoW they are so warm and welcoming to me and my son. They explained the kids' daily schedule, and their policies, and answered all of my questions. I received videos and pictures of my son playing with the kids which is a relief to know they are having fun while you are working. I highly recommend this school to parents especially those who are apprehensive about leaving their kids. This is the best preschool in town and surrounding areas. We have changed two preschools previously because they were not transparent with us and my child wasn't happy. We are with "little treehouse academy" for almost a year, my child is delighted to wake up in a morning and eager to go to preschool to play and learn. They provide healthy balanced meals. They have great activities that include yoga, music, and dance class on a weekly basis. It is a multicultural preschool, kids exposed to different languages and cultures. Teachers are very professional, caring, kind, and supportive. They take individual approach to every child as well as to a parent to balance everyone's needs and to keep happy environment. Came here for a tour a month ago and was very disappointed. Showed up and saw this school is located behind a jack in the box and 7/11. At first glance the playground is cute but the fencing is short and very open to any onlookers. I was very unnerved by the idea that anyone can just observe my kid on the playground or hop the fence if they were determined to snatch them. Me, my baby and my husband showed up about 15 mins early for our tour, but no one would answer the door. We rang the doorbell multiple times, but we weren't sure if it was working. We even saw a teacher walk by, her face in her phone. We tried to get her attention, but she must have not heard us or not cared to investigate because she just walked past us back into the building. It was 95 degrees that day and we weren't going to just stand in the sun and wait to be acknowledged. We had too many initial warning signs, so we took the warnings and just left. I was shocked to have not even recieved a call from the school wondering why we did not show up for our tour. 2 WEEKS later, I get an email enquiring if we can reschedule a tour because we missed our last one. Turns out they must have entered our tour date incorrectly in their calendar so they were expecting us on the wrong day. This place just seemed very disorganized, unresponsive, not very clean and not very safe. I wish I could have seen the inside to have made a full opinion, but if in an emergency I had to pick up my kid and I couldn't get a hold of anyone to open the door...I'd be pretty furious. Who ignores two parents and an infant standing at the front gate in 95 degree weather?! Don't want to take these kind of chances read more

That was a great 2-year experience! My son went to Little Treehouse Academy in June 2016 when he was 3 y\o. He didn't speak English, that's why we choose this preschool for him. There were a lot of teachers that spoke his language (Russian, but there were some teachers that spoke Spanish too), and this made the adaptation easier, they understood everything he told him, but answered only English. So you should't be afraid about your bilingual child. Also the preschool provide huge educational program, though it doesn't overload kid's brain and they have time to play and release their energy. It's all kinda balanced well. The first weeks my son was frightened and it was essential, but soon he found a lot of friends, including teachers. We gonna miss all of them and will remember their kindness, attention and care. read more

On this TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY, I have to give a shoutout to the amazing staff at Little Treehouse Academy!!! I cannot speak enough on how fantastic LTA is. My little started when he was about 18 months, and I was concerned about putting him in child care in general. We called numerous daycares/preschools in the area with 1-2 year waitlists (thanks COVID). When I called LTA, the supervisor Heather answered and enthusiastically provided great information about the school and scheduled an in-person tour for me within the week. (To be honest, I thought it was too good to be true). After the tour, I called for some follow up questions and the owner Anna happily answered and emailed some additional resources for me. The BIGGEST things that Heather and Anna did to really reel me in were how educated and experienced they both are in child development and how willing and able they were to work with me with scheduling (maaaaajor plus!) and payment plans. Enrolling in daycare/preschool was a HUGE step for my family and they made it as easy as possible to transition. Fast forward to present-day, my son gets excited to go to school! The staff is so caring and attentive; they have smaller class sizes which was another PLUS when deciding to enroll at LTA. My son has a great rapport with his teachers... it's very sweet! His development has flourished since he started daycare (COVID kid trying to socialize and we're getting better every day). The facilities are clean and organized; they also have regularly scheduled deep cleanings. All the kiddos get 3 meals a day (for full days), which is SUPER helpful to decrease possible hangry tantrums at pick up. The administration has great communication via emails and daily/weekly updates on the app they use for the parents. I am so grateful and always happy to talk to other parents about how wonderful LTA is! read more

What I saw is true, it was the assistant who grabbed the child while the teacher in front had told her to calm down and ignored the situation and continued with the class. it really makes me sad and upset that this incident is not recognized by the school. It bothered me so much that I had to write a review, parents should know about this. There is absolutely no reason to lie I came in this school in a positive way looking for a school. Now I hope that the school has made some changes regarding this incident that happened while I was touring the school, my review was based on the first class Best of luck to the school and I hope the right people are being hired and I hope that improvements have been made for the safety. read more

We love this daycare and would like to share some thoughts here - The daycare/preschool system at LTA is very established that put our mind at ease knowing that our kid is in a safe environment with a well regulated schedule and preventative measures for flu season etc. Teachers are loving and attentive and if anyone has doubts , they have open door policy, Just stop by and check on the kiddos. As parents we understand how hard it is to take care of young children. LTA teachers are amazing in early education - they are experienced, patients and most importantly they love the kids . When I brought my little one prior to beginning preschool, I didn't know what to expect. You can only do so much research. I took her out of a day care and brought her here because I wasn't comfortable with the vibe there. So omg WOW what a great decision on my part! I have had nothing but good to say about this school! This school has gone above and beyond my expectations! They are so involved. They do so much with and for the kids. So much individual care. My daughter learned SO MUCH from this school I am absolutely blown away. On top of all that, she never wanted to leave! If I left the decision in her hands she would have moved in lol. Trusting someone else to care for your child is such a hard decision. We definitely felt the love at Little Treehouse Academy. After weeks of calling places we setup a few walk throughs including LTA. We fell in love with Ms Heather and what they had to offer. Our daughter was placed in the toddler room and everyday we heard about Ms Natasha, she really bonded with our daughter and made saying goodbye at the gate easier each day knowing she was going to be just fine. As she progressed we really saw a huge improvement in our daughters speech and her personality blossomed. They did what they could to share videos and made us feel at ease during COVID. The whole class did a few dances for Mother's Day that we got to watch on FB live and when things opened up, everyone was invited in to participate in activities for Fathers Day. Great school! My son has been attending the school for 3 years and over that time I've seen how the school nurtures his growth. The teachers are thoughtful and follow a diligent curriculum which I've seen pay off with my own child's educational progression. Through his diverse classes and shared playground time, my son has developed important friendships that have helped him develop his social skills. The weekly menus offer a balanced diet and encourage my son's appetite for vegetables. My favorite part about the school is how they partner with outside organizations to provide extracurriculars including music class, soccer, gymnastics, as well as occasional other fun learning experiences such as bringing in animals as a petting zoo. My son is 2 years old, my husband and I were a little nervous to start as this is his first day care/ Preschool experience but so far has been great! We both work so it was essential he start but I also believe it is healthy for his development to interact with other kids beside his 3 month old sister. The Director Anna helped put me at ease that the transition will continue to get easier in time. They made the holidays special for the kids with a train ride, Christmas performance, and a visit from Santa. I really like that they use the Procare App to send me daily updates, it makes me feel more secure that he is safe throughout the day. My niece went here and my nephew had been going here until early March. While this school might be good for some kids, they are definitely doing things that I believe others need know when deciding where to send their kids. The "director/principal" and teachers put a lot of pressure on parents to donate money or items to the school (on top of tuition payments). Which might be okay if they were catering to rich families, but since they are part of the LAUP network and the students who attend come from families that can't afford to constantly be giving them more money and items. The whole point of LAUP is to making preschool affordable to everyone. I can't be sure what sort of degrees or certificates the "teachers" have, but they definitely were not trained in special education and do not practice patience. My nephew is a handful, I'm not denying that. It was obvious from the beginning of school (9/2012) to the director that he needed more help - and the process to get him special ed help from the school district began. Unfortunately this process took months and it wasn't until just a few weeks ago that he was finally given special education benefits through the Autism category. In the meantime, though, he was not helped while attending Teremok. He was taken out of group activities, he was not redirected, and worst he was yelled at. His grandmother once witnessed as a teach scolded him for going down the slide in the backyard because there was a girl climbing up the slide. I don't know if this is cultural, but I was always taught you go DOWN a slide, not up. In that situation the scolded child should have been the other. Two things that happened in the month prior to his departure from the school shook me up and made me feel the need to review them. The first was a Valentine's Day party. They were having a small party one day and we received a call asking for us to pick my nephew up just 10-15 minutes before the party was to start. Blatantly excluding him from such a thing is simply wrong. The 2nd was when some people from LAUP were coming to observe the school the director asked my brother to keep my nephew home from school that day. As a former substitute teacher this just floored me! I can just imagine a principal asking all students with autism or behavioral problems to stay home because district officials are coming to observe them. Against my advice my brother kept him home that day. This director didn't want the people who judge her and pay her to realize she is unable to deal with difficult children - basically DO HER JOB!. A teacher needs to teach and part of that is working with students that have issues. Not every student will be a good listener. Students come in all shapes, sizes, abilities, difficulties. My nephew didn't fit into the mold she seems to want to cater to. It's unfortunate. My nephew is in a much better situation now with teachers who are understanding and are actually working with him - not excluding him or making him feel left out. Before the change he didn't want to go to school, now he can't wait. Take it as you will - but if you have a child who isn't perfectly behaved or is autistic or has other behavioral issues you might want to take them somewhere else. read more

Our 18-month-old has been going to the infant care program at LTA for a few months now and we couldn't be happier! She loves Ms. Natasha, and Heather, the Director is highly educated in child development and oversees everything. LTA is well organized and keeps us updated on how our little one is doing. She even comes home with art projects every week, and updates on what she is learning at school. I was so overjoyed to see this kind of engagement with an infant care program, where most never do craft projects or organized curriculums for kids under 2. Our little one has been learning and developing so quickly since she joined LTA, and we truly believe it is thanks to their wonderful staff and program. They even have weekly dance and music lessons for the kids, bring in animals (such as a tortoise and hare when they were reading the book in class) and have seasonal recitals for parents. My jaw nearly hit the floor when the on-site chef came out to ask what they could cook for our little one to meet her tastes and make sure she was enjoying her meals (yes they provide meals too!). This place is truly a diamond in the rough. You would never expect such a wonderful oasis hidden behind the corner of Reseda and Plummer. Location aside, the children are safe and well looked after behind the gates of LTA, and the classrooms and play yard are a fantastic place for little ones to learn and grow, and the staff and teachers truly care about the learning experience of each and every child in their care. My daughter has never been happier to go to leave Mommy and Daddy for school (and neither have we). We would highly recommend this school to any parent. THANK YOU LTA! read more

I put my son through Teremok Preschool for a year and liked it so much I put his younger brother into Teremok the following year. I must say my older son was fully prepared for Kindergarten and is now thriving with good grades and awards in Kindergarten. The 4 things I like the most about Teremok are: 1) it's FREE for 4 year olds, yes FREE funded by the city and LAUP (Los Angeles Universal Preschool) There are some small registration fees and $60-80 a month for (optional) extra curricular classes like Dance/Gymnastics/Animal visits. 2) Teremok prepares healthy hot meals for the kids everyday so you don't have to pack a lunch or pay extra for meals. Kids can be pretty picky eaters and I have noticed my boys are better eaters now as a result of the healthy food plates put in front of them at preschool. 3) Teremok hosts some amazing field trips to theater performances, the post office, the dentist's office, the grocery store, the fire dept. and police dept., the zoo, etc. The children learn from discovery as well as their curriculum. 4) The end product of the weekly dance classes is an amazing dance performance put on by the kids for the parents/grandparents for Christmas, Mother's Day, and at the graduation ceremony. These performances are so special. They create life moments and memories that a parent treasures forever. I've never seen so many happy parents and tears falling behind the video cameras. It must be very hard to choreograph a group of 4 yr olds, but the dance instructor does fantastic work. There are so many other good things I can tell you about Teremok. My boy is loud, talks a lot, and can't sit still. The teachers at Teremok are patient with him and I can see improvement in his behavior each week. There is a maximum of 12 students in the morning (8:30-noon) and 12 students in the afternoon (12:30-4:00), with 2 instructors and a chef. The women there aren't just babysitters, they are licensed degreed educators. This is not a play-based preschool, they follow a curriculum with structure. They have a nice playground in the back. There are events outside of school hours for parents and students, like the Father's Day in the park potluck and (optional) parent meetings, parents are always invited to come meet other parents or sit in on a class. Teremok welcomes birthday parties and celebrates each holiday in a big way. The women at Teremok are so nurturing with the children, there is a real family feel at this preschool and many tears are shed at the end of the school year when everyone has to say goodbye. The graduation ceremony is filled with love and joy. If I had another child to send there I would. In 2 years I have nothing negative to say about Teremok, so I highly recommend this preschool. read more

We been there for a year- was Never asked for donations, trips to see the place coast us $5.00 per ticket...we paid $80.00 per month for 5 half days- we moved to Valencia and the same 5 half days would coast us $500.00 a month, not mention Teremok had 12kids and other preschool had 24kids! We are moved back now and can't wait to enroll our son in Teremok. His sister is 7 years old now and still talks about her preschool They have a spring ,summer and winter camps-you can try it and see if it's a good fit for your child! DO NOT SEND YOUR TODDLER HERE- I wish I had read the negative reviews more carefully before sending my 2-year old to Treehouse. He was hit in the face, bitten on the arm, and then bitten on the back 3 times during the short few months he was there. When he was first hit by another child, I totally believed them when they said they would look after him and notify me immediately if he was injured again. Then several weeks later when he was bitten on the arm with broken skin, I wasn't told at all until 4 hours later at dropoff. When I met with the staff to ask what was their plan of action, the administrator asked me, "Well what do you want me to do?" This is supposed to be your #1 job, to keep the children safe. They promised me they would check his skin daily, and that they would absolutely notify me. Several weeks later, I had a NIGHTMARE experience. My son is in the bath and I see that his back is COVERED in injuries, 3 giant circular bruises. At first I didn't realize what I was seeing and I still trusted that the daycare would have told me about serious injury--- and then as it healed we saw that these were 3 human bites with clear teeth marks, skin broken in 2 places. When I approached Ms. Anna and showed her the marks, she replied "I know." I was so shocked and scared I started shaking, I didn't know teachers could be this bad. Ms. Anna told me the teachers knew that this had happened and had knowingly not told me, that they had checked his back and not seen injuries??????? (there were marks all over him, I have pictures), and had just sent him home. They said the student biting was gone, as if that solves any problem. I loved their academics and all their craft activities, but that means NOTHING if you can't communicate honestly with parents or protect children. read more

This daycare is understaffed and for the amount of money that is being charged, they are just not doing enough for the children. I was put in a situation where I had to help out because the site coordinator Gina Castello couldn't handle her responsibilities. Having to rush to work, I felt that my needs and responsibilities were just not their problem. The site coordinator has an attitude and I've seen her stress out when having to watch the kids. People like this shouldn't be assigned roles and responsibilities that they can't handle. We as parents invest our time and hard earned money for our kids and expect the most out of it. Other than the site coordinator, I've had positive experience with the other staff. They are very friendly and interact very well with the kids. read more

Absolutely love this place! After moving to the Valley from West LA :( We have been taking our son in and out of preschools in the hope of finding the right one, that felt right for the right price. This place is it. The size, the feel, the cleanliness and the staff here is second to none. We especially love Ms. Lana who is our teacher in the waddler class. She is not only experienced (16 years as a preschool teacher) but unbelievably clean, warm and organized. She treats our son as if he were hers. Amazing!!! As a matter of fact, I believe that she used to work at KinderCare for a while and their own yelp page contains several raving reviews about her. Having said that, I have to say that the rest of the staff there is excellent and friendly as well. Best of all, compared to the others, their prices are extremely competitive. My son Evan went there and had an incredible experience. Every week they featured special classes in gymnastics, dance, science and nature. They cooked fresh food for the kids each day. I loved it there so much, I recommended it to my friends and two of my neighbors ended up sending their kids there. They also loved the school. We participated in a lot of community activities, like having our own float in the Chatsworth Christmas parade, and taking the kids to visit local businesses, like the dentist, a pizzaria, a candy store where the kids took a class in candy making. Anna is very involved in the community and sends helpful emails to the parents of things to do with their kids on the weekends, and how to handle challenging behaviors. I will be sending my grandson there as soon as he's old enough. read more

The school's academic program is one of the best I've seen so far, prior I've been to at least three schools that were not on par with Little Treehouse Academy. The school has the children heavily involved with learning, academic, social programs. Also has extra curricular activities for children science-based classes, soccer classes, and karate classes in addition. Mrs. Gina the school supervisor is well organized and does an amazing job! , keeping the parents involved on a day to day. With up to date bulletins for the children's monthly calendar . She also arranges conferences for you and the teacher to have one on one time to see how your child is progressing. I've noticed great wonderful changes in my daughter! This preschool is THE ABSOLUTE BEST! ALL of the staff members and teachers work SO hard every single day to meet the educational needs of EVERY child in their care. In addition to providing a fun and exceptional learning experience for their students, they also consistently maintain effective channels of communication with parents. The curriculum is structured, but designed in a way that makes learning exciting and enjoyable. Enrichment courses and sports courses are also made available. My child has attended for three years, and I cannot express how thankful I am for choosing this preschool. I would not recommend this daycare/preschool. The owner only cares about money for herself and not the welfare of the teachers or the kids. The new owner has cut the benefits for the teachers, which is very sad since they all work really hard and take good care of the kids. Almost all of the teachers are very nice, except that my child does not like the new art teacher. Why hire an art teacher when there is no paper to color on and the other teachers are not paid very well?? The kids have no paper to color on and they don't have paper to practice writing their letters and numbers. My child knows her ABCs and 123s, but she doesn't know how to write because they have nothing to write on. The new owner also will not allow the school to keep extra blankets and clothes. So when parents forget these items, the kids suffer. It's not their fault, they are too little to know or remember these things. Why should my child suffer just because I forgot to bring a blanket, jacket or extra clothes??? Every other preschool I have been to has extra clothes and blankets for the kids. The lock on the main gate has been broken for almost one year. They say it's been fixed, but it still doesn't work right. I've had it with this place and am looking for a new preschool for my child. read more

Before bringing my son here I made sure he was potty trained. Every day that he got picked they say he had a accident and would suggest I bring pull ups. That made no sense at all since he had ZERO accidents at home and no longer needed pull ups. If you take my son to the restroom, he would go. They just REFUSED to take him often and would just rather put a pull up on. They are lazy and unprofessional and that really irritated me. Second issue is my son only attended for 6 weeks and caught 3 different colds during that span. During his first 2 years of life he ONLY had 1 cold and there for 6 weeks and he gets sick 3 different times. That doesn't make sense. I always send him to there with sweats, a under shirt and long sleeves and a jacket. By the way he was going there in February 2020 to March 2020 and it was COLD outside during those times and I would drop him off in the morning around 8. So why when he gets picked up at 4 PM he just has a under shirt on and Outside where it's cold and windy playing on the playground. EVERYDAY they had the kids outside and EVERYDAY my son just had a under shirt on. I sent him there with several layers on and could understand WHY they took it off and HAD HIM OUTSIDE. TERE-CROOK!!!! I wish there was an option for negative stars. I paid 1 whole months tuition, plus $250 deposit and an extra $100 for summer registration fee. After 3 days of that month, i decided to remove my child as i was simply unsatified with their care and supervision. They had no problem accepting and depositing my check but it was impossible to get a refund. Their handbook states that all unused tuition would be refunded. Since my child was only there 3 days of that month, i expected the months refund minus 3 days pro-rate along with the 250 deposit. They wouldnt give back the summer registration fee. No where in the handbook does is state that it is not refundable. After going back and forth, the director finally admitted that they basically used all the money. Really? What a joke. What does it matter since my child was not going to participate. THEIVES. i received half of the money back. They are not worth my stress to take to court over a few hundred dollars especially since i would have to pay court fees. Looks like they need it more than me. Greed. My son goes to this center. They only care for money.gate is broken from last few months they don,t fix it.No heater in freezing weather.funny part is that it is a preschool but there are no carpets in school ,there are hard wood floors in the school even in infant room .they just put a couple of rugs on the floor which slips when children walk on it ,one day i went to pick up my son from school he slipped on that rug right in front of me and hit his head on hard wood floor .I am looking for another school for my son read more
