If an item cannot be found at this location, they're very quick to locate and order it for you. The staff is very obliging and eager to help out, whatever the topic is. After I moved here I went in to look for community information and resources and the lady at the information desk went above and beyond to assist me. I came out loaded with books, printouts, brochures, and even some hand-written recommendations and suggestions. As this is the closest library to me I've visited often and I've always had the same great treatment from the staff. If this is the library that is closest to you, it is definitely worth utilizing.

The phone calls are only taken on Mondays at 8:30 a.m. They only help with rent that is only a month over due, Dominion Energy, gas and oil. They help with wood during winter months. There is a high volume of calls so you have to remain patient. Dial 0 to get directly to operator because it will incorrectly tell you to dial a 1 or some other number. If applying for DE (Dominion Energy) or gas financial assistants please have the account number ready to give to receptionist when you call it makes the process smoother. They usually have funding for the city of Richmond only but occasionally there is funding for both Chesterfield county and Henrico county.

Tour started at the entrance and we went to notable spots. We were only 7 in the tour. Our tour guide Doug who has been doing it for 14 seasons was very knowledgeable. He shared interesting facts, architectural/art styles, history of people and places/Richmond. We saw the iron dog, graves of the 2 US presidents (John Monroe's Tomb and John Tyler's Monument), Lewis Ginter Mausoleum, Palmer Chapel Mausoleum (and the overlooks on its sides), among others. It was a nice tour. I learned a lot. If you plan to go there on your own, there's a map from the website that you can download and use where there are markers for the notable spots. Google Maps does not have these spots in it. The restroom can be found on the left shortly after entering the cemetery. Lewis Ginter Mausoleum shows Victorian era architecture. When you peek through the door, you would see the nice Tiffany glass artwork behind. With its history, nice views overlooking the James River, the peaceful and quiet environment, this is a place worth checking out.

They are taking over the spot formerly called the basement and offer shows in the intimate space, I went opening night for their showing of Our Dear Dead Drug Lord. They had some of the most talented display of local actors and presented the story in a way that was engaging and an amazing use of the small space. They not only have the theatre space but also house a bar in the front that serves drinks and few desserts for enjoying before or during the show. The premier was phenomenal and I am so excited to see what else they brew up! This was a perfect show for the spooky season and their upcoming shows look really promising. I would definitely reccomend checking it out for a date night, night out or if you're interested in seeing some plays that are unique and not often in the rotation at other local theatres!
