My wife found Caring Transitions by googling on "Senior Downsizing." A couple of days later Ms Dani Washington, a stunningly resourceful young woman who is the proprietor, came by, surveyed our situation, said "We can handle this," and gave us an estimate. Within a very short time her crew arranged for an on-line auction of approximately 80% of our possessions, brought in contractors to empty out our attic, and remove the dilapidated shed in the back yard. Meanwhile, through her connections Ms Washington lined us up with an absolutely ace realtor (Sheilah Augustine, who got us an offer on our house less than two weeks after listing), found a moving company who could promise next-day delivery of our remaining possessions, arranged for the local Caring Transitions office at our destination to supervise the setting up the new apartment, and even arranged to have one of our two vehicles transported for us. Less that three months after we decided to make the move, we were all settled in and our house was sold. I should mention that while all of this was taking place, my wife had a major health crisis that required a several-week hospital stay, and all of society came to a screeching halt because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, Ms Washington and Caring Transitions carried on cheerfully and efficiently, handling every complication the moment it came up, so that for us this major life transition was made as painless and worry-free as it could possibly be. For me, I went in not looking for anything particular but one bag later, I had a shirt, a blackout curtain, pillows and 3 blankets, all priced at $3/each. The value of what you find differs with each item. I will add that I didn't pick up anything that was broken or not working. All items in good condition. Prices are dependent on the day of the week. I'm unsure if they offer latex gloves but that would be helpful... and more sanitary.

He was very knowledgeable, considerate, and we signed a contract to have him do the sale at the end of February 2026. He said because I was a 100% disabled vet, he would give us his best deal. Right. The sale went great, the cleanup was a bit messy, but it got done. Then, nothing, no contact, no money, and there was a car sold in the sale. We tried calling and texting, but nothing. We contacted the BBB, and they tried to contact him. Nothing. Our loss, maybe your gain. Do not consider his organization for your estate sale. He owes us thousands of dollars and has not had the courtesy to even send us a note. The next step is going to the Hanover Sheriff's Department and swear out a Fraud by Deception complaint against his organization. You have been forewarned; by avoiding him, you will win.

Honestly when it somes to old rusty things, or older things with a ding here and there it is really an eye in the beholder. Many of us can step back and see the beauty in anything, no matter the condition. Prices to sell, priced to make a profit but not take too much. Turns out the restock often. The staff were great. I think 3-4 times someone was checking in to see how i was and if I needed anything. Parking is across the street in a spacious lot for their business. There is also street parking available.

I reach back out today to follow up on my items and have to leave a message again. Wes Manger calls me back incredibly rude stating he can't drive but I can get them after the fourth. I kindly ask if I could come pickup the items where he begins to raise his voice and remind me he can't drive, asking me what world do I live in, etc. He then refused to let me get my items and said he was going to refund me.
