The owner, Ms. Cindy, is very kind and reasonable. In addition, she is very knowledgeable in regards to early childhood education and has years of experience in the field. When he began attending this school, he was in the young toddlers classroom, before moving to older toddlers and then Get Set, which prepares three year olds for preschool. His most recent teacher, Ms. Kim, is a gem. She's been at the school for over 10 years and it is very apparent that she loves what she does. She's not one of those teachers who views it as a job to collect a paycheck. She obviously has a passion for working with toddlers, which is what you want when you're sending your toddler to a facility and you're relying on others to attend to them for 6-8 hours a day. When we were having issues with potty training, she gave us valuable tips that we practice successfully to this day. She also taught my son Spanish, among many other valuable things. If we could take her with us, we would. She is the epitome of what you want in a teacher at an early childhood learning center. While enrolled at the school, my son had an accident in which he broke his foot. I was irate as none of the teachers were able to explain how it happened. Ms. Cindy worked with us and we did not have to pay a dime for the medical expenses. There were a few other little mishaps that can be experienced at any childcare center. For example, we would send him with breakfast in bowls labeled with his name and during one week, not one bowl came home. This was frustrating because parents are required to label their child's belongings and you expect said belongings to be returned. The tuition is a bit costly and food is not provided. It's something to be mindful of if you're thinking about enrolling your child.

Goddard made our transition easy and enjoyable. We absolutely love it. The teachers are fabulous, the hours are great and our boys are progressing SO much. We also love the app that they use which allows us to see what they are doing each and every day. There is no better feeling than dropping your babies off, knowing that they will be safe and happy. I would highly recommend this center to anyone.

I was very trepidatious about sending him to school out of our home, and am very new to the area, so finding the right place for him was a nerve-wracking process. Really terrific school with wonderful administrators (Lisa, Essence, and Payal, the owner) who are extremely hands on and involved with all aspects of the running of the school, and it shows. It also always is amazing to us that they know and greet not only the kids, but each parent by name when you come for drop off or pick up. Leaving your kids to go to work each day can be hard, but attending this school made it so much easier and we never have to worry about their safety or well-being while they are here. Cannot say enough good things about this school.

She grew up in a home daycare ran by her grandmother, and appreciated the relationships her grandmother developed with the children that were truly loving. I attended a traditional facility based program that was more classroom-based and therefore better equipped in some ways, but far less personal. Most of the places we visited in Delaware fell firmly into one of these two categories. When we found Little Stars, it quickly felt like home. Ginny Cahill, the director, answered all of our questions with knowledge, experience, and care. Her mother is the director at the other location, located off Kirkwood Highway, and prior to that ran a home daycare for many years. The values of the home daycare experience shine through into everything Little Stars does. However, it comes tied with the manpower and resources of a somewhat larger program. Inside, there are classroom "pods" that have walls on three sides, but on the fourth corner connect openly to a center area. As a result the children and staff members are all connected as well, providing many opportunity for sharing experiences and friendship building. The teachers know all the students, not only their own. My son was enrolled at Little Stars for 3 1/2 years. The strong bonds that he developed with the staff members and other children could best tell you the story of how satisfied we are with this facility. He was well cared for and engaged throughout his time there, and will miss it significantly as he moves on to "big kid school". Both Little Stars locations are well-run, organized, and safe places to enroll your children. The teachers take a strong interest in the lives of the children, and better than most daycares, prioritize learning alongside play. I have trusted my son's well-being to them for quite some time, and will continue to utilize their service for needed vacation and in-service days. If you are looking for care for your child, I strongly suggest you check them out.

In all they are good people and I trust the teachers and staff with my son who I love dearly. Don't hesitate just sign your kid up he or she will be in good hands! sincerely TB:)

MEMBERS FILMING THEMSELVES HAS GOTTEN OUT OF HANDS!…read more I'm writing this because I'm really concerned about some issues I've been having at the YMCA related to aggressive behavior and people filming on their cell phones. On September 13th, I had a horrible experience with another gym member. I was walking to the turf area to do walking lunges when I accidentally walked past a member's phone that was on the floor, he was filming his set and had his phone angled towards the walkway. I didn't see the phone on the floor near the squat racks, and I didn't realize I was in the way. After reaching the turf, I noticed another member filming there, so I walked back towards the smith machine. As I walked past the squat racks again, the guy recording, who looked to be in his early twenties, turned around and confronted me aggressively. He said, "Are you happy now?" Confused, I replied, "Excuse me?" He then repeated, "Are you happy now?" and continued, "I know you did it on purpose for attention!" He was pointing to his phone, and his tone was very intimidating. All I could manage to say at that moment was, "I'm sorry, I didn't see it." He then grabbed his phone and stormed off. Thinking he was gone, I decided to finish my last exercise. However, about five minutes later, I saw him back at the squat rack, glaring at me in the mirror, which made me feel unsafe. I decided to leave the gym floor rather than risk further issues. I considered going to the front desk but chose not to because I had a similar issue months ago, and the staff didn't address it properly. This is the second time in a year that I've felt unsafe due to aggressive behavior from members filming their workouts. I joined the YMCA because I believed it would be a welcoming place for all ages and fitness levels. While I'm comfortable working out in a male-dominated space, these filming incidents have been problematic. The gym is not a filming studio, I'm just trying to work out, all I did was walk by. The YMCA needs to address this issue. Considering that my previous complaint was ignored, I'm posting this review to warn potential members and will also be reaching out to corporate as well. The YMCA is supposed to be a family environment, and it's important for the gym to be a safe and respectful place for everyone.

Extremely disappointing experience with this school from beginning to end…read more To start, they require children to undergo lead blood testing just to attend their summer camp, an unnecessary and intrusive requirement. More concerning, however, is their discriminatory treatment of children with IEPs. Both of my children were enrolled in the camp, but after I submitted one of their IEPs (at the school's request), they revoked that child's admission within a few hours of me sending the report. This decision was made solely based on their IEP. I had mentioned that they were welcome to call his current teacher to gain more information in regard to how well he/she was doing, but they didn't want to hear it - full admission denial one month before the start of camp. I would not, under any circumstances, recommend this school.

Shamima and Stewart (Lower Elementary teachers) have created an environment that nurtures curiosity which then motivates the children to learn. My son was initially a reluctant reader who was not pushed but gently guided. He self-motivated into reading well above grade level. The teachers keep a peaceful, respectful environment where kids of all abilities and diverse backgrounds are made to feel an integral part of the classroom. The classrooms are bright, large and clean and the library is full of resources. There are smart boards that are relied upon to an appropriate degree. He can also write full paragraphs and identify parts of speech such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. Like any school, there are always challenges, but I have chosen to keep my son here because I truly see the value it has added to his development and education. The class sizes are small, around 18 students, and the focus is on mastery, not memorization. Communication between the teachers and parents has always been excellent.
