The teachers treat every child with kindness, respect, and genuine care. We've never had any issues and have always felt confident that our daughter is in good hands. Miss Maria (the director) has always been very nice with any changes in our daughter's schedule and has always tried to accommodate us in any way she can. It's clear how much she loves these kids. There was a time where she was out sick and her joy at seeing all the kids when she returned was heartwarming. We have another daughter who we will be sending to this daycare when she is old enough because we love it that much. We'll genuinely miss Kaleidoscope Children's and all the amazing teachers who have made such a positive impact on our family.

As of 4/30/15 it was reviewed and confirmed by the San Bernardino County Licensing agency that this…read moredaycare was indeed in violation of CA Licensing requirements : 102417 OPERATION OF A FAMILY CHILD CARE HOME * The licensee shall be present in the home and ensure that children are supervised. A substitute adult may care for the children up to 20 percent of the time. The proprietor Ms. Fernandez admitted to violating this licensing requirement as confirmed to me by the investigator. Again, I must stress that the Licensee is not consistently present in the home during Daycare hours of Operation. If you question the way the daycare is operating you will be met with hostility and threats to drop your child from her facility. Do not be afraid to advocate for your child. Ask questions and drop in from time to time. That is your right as parent. Ms. Fernandez was keen on pointing out that I was "the only parent who had a problem with it." Well apparently the Licensing Board agrees with me--I may be the only parent who spoke up but I am far from being the only parent who took issue with her absenteeism.

Well - be sure to read the reviews, because I did not and my child has suffered because of it…read more Every single piece of Jennifer B.'s review was right on point. Dawn Fernandez, the owner and operator of this family run daycare is only home when you drop your child off. Dawn is focused only on her own families needs - running her own children around for dance rehearsals, family activities, personal errands, and dance shows down the pass, in LA, etc. so do not expect her to be present when you pick your child up in the afternoon 95 percent of the time. I have met 4 different assistants during my 1 year with Fernandez Family Daycare - this too should have been another red flag for me. Dawn currently has an 18 year old assistant, Mia, who I feel is very overwhelmed. Mia is very sweet but cannot handle all the kids left in her care. Your child will be watched by Dawn's other kids if Mia is not present, her husband, Albert, or her elderly mother who is also not fit to run after your little ones. Per the 2018 Daycare Contract Dawn also boasts 5 weeks of vacation a year, 13 PAID holidays, 4 early closure days, and 10 additional PAID personal days. This daycare is only part-time. This equals over 2 months / 48 days of time off for the calendar year. I am aware, only now, that Dawn has been cited in the past for not being present for the required amount of time in her daycare - perhaps this needs to be revisited by the licensing board. I will say the first impressions are great, family is sweet, welcoming, and friendly, her kids are awesome and very nice, respectable and her husband Albert is great. The home is clean and backyard is great for the kids. However, Dawn is very passive, you cannot speak to her about your child if you notice anything concerning or troublesome. Dawn becomes very defensive and will run and tell her husband so he can be present the next time you come to pick up your child. It's all rather silly and if you cannot handle discussing issues or concerns you probably should not be in this type of business where you are caring for children. My 17 month old daughter came home with an extremely bad case of diaper rash 3 days ago and had blistered up about 3 inches on both sides of the inside of her legs....she has never had anything like this and definitely didn't when we left the house that morning. I took a picture of the wet blisters and when I went into daycare the next day, I asked Dawn if I could show her a picture. Dawn immediately stated that my daughter was like that the prior day even before seeing the picture...I then knew she was aware of what I was speaking about without me even stating what I was about to show her. Dawn had purposely sent my daughter home like that without notifying me and leaving me to discover it myself. I advised Dawn I only wanted to work with her so that this didn't happen again and that is was so painful for my little one that I could barely wipe her without her crying in pain. I was advised by Dawn that maybe I should keep her home if she was like that and they cannot be held responsible for things like this?? WAIT, WHAT??...can't be held responsible for "things like this" meaning the care and well being of my daughter? That was just insane to me, I drop my baby off everyday and all I want is for her to be cared for, kept clean and changed, loved, fed, have fun, play and learn. The next day when I went to drop my daughter off, I was met by Albert and Dawn. Since Dawn cannot act like an adult and doesn't have the backbone to work out concerns like a normal grownup, Albert handed me a 2 week notice to terminate my childcare. They did not offer to assist in resolving the issue they instead kicked my daughter out of daycare. The letter stated they feel that they can no longer meet my needs or expectations. Well, if this daycare feels that they cannot provide the basic needs for my daughter such as keeping her clean and changed, then they would be correct. My expectations and standards are definitely well above what they can provide. I pulled my daughter out the same day and said farewell to Fernandez Family Daycare. Parents, don't be afraid to be an advocate for your child and voice your concerns when you see that something is not right. Be aware, and forewarned. Your child is just a check so that the owner can fund her other activities for her own family...it's very sad, there have been so many other parents to leave the daycare while my daughter went there and Dawn always gossiped when they left and made sure to tell everyone how it was never the daycares fault, always the parents. Highly unprofessional to be subjected to gossip about other parents while dropping your child off. It only tells you that you are gossiped about to others as well as soon as you leave. Pass this daycare up! There are others that are more qualified and have open communication so that you can actually work together for the best interest of your child.

A Loving Christian Preschool We Truly Trust…read more As a mom of four, I've been through my fair share of preschools and daycares--some great, some not so great. My older two (now 9 and 8) went here years ago, and now my 3-year-old twins are enrolled. I can honestly say this is the best preschool we've ever been a part of. The teachers are amazing--patient, kind, and genuinely care about each child. The school is always spotless, the meals are home-cooked, and the education is incredible. They don't just teach academics--they also teach strong Christian values that I love seeing my kids carry home. When my oldest kids was little, we were struggling with behavioral challenges after some bad daycare experiences. From the moment they started here, everything changed for the better. They went into grade school prepared, confident, and happy--and I owe so much of that to this school. Now, with my twins, it's the same joy all over again. Pickups are always filled with happy kids, fun art projects, and stories about their day. I know my children are safe, loved, and thriving here. If you're looking for a preschool that feels like family, this is it.
