There is a good selection of standard pizzas, and then the gourmet range, which are not 'too gourmet' if you get me. ie there is no ox-tongue and goats cheese pizza's. My friends get others and while none of them have stated that its the best pizza in Australia, no one has ever said anything bad about them and everyone is always happy to re-order from them on cards / movie nights. Finally they are really well priced for what they are; $10 for a small and $15 for a large (roughly). Delivery time isn't amazing, so allow regular pizza delivery times which can be long on weekends. I've often had to get pizza from other places on Monday's, so hopefully they'll open 7 days soon. I haven't tried the rest of the menu, which is your italian pasta's and risotto's because I can never get past the pizza. But the atmosphere in the restaurant itself is pretty good; mood lighting etc.

A large pizza is $18 and for this quality I think it an absolute bargain. Next time I'll be grabbing a take away as this really isn't a place to "dine" as the service just isn't up to scratch. Being told that the pizzas only took 2 minutes by one staff member and then being told by another that there would be a wait was confusing. We ended up waiting over 45 minutes for some pizzas and while we were more than happy to drink wine and chat, it just didn't seem like they had it together. One pizza was delivered with a hole in the middle (a casualty of the oven) and we were told another would be sent to replace it. It never arrived and the half mangled one was still on the bill at the end. Luckily we're easy going people but I can see that this would really irk some customers. Needing to ask a few times for water, water glasses, napkins and plates and then being asked how many we'd like (umm, there's 8 of us?) made the lack of experience here very obvious. It's sad, because I like this place. I love their food, I like the relaxed vibe and the un-fussiness of eating a few good pizzas on big tables in what is essentially a shopping arcade. I was dubious about the flavours on the zucca, but the leeks were soft and worked beautifully with the pumpkin and feta - the cheese again being the hero. Try the Genovese, it'll knock your socks off! The staff are know to be typically...off hand, but this is due to their inner Italian passion which does occasionally come off aggressive. We tried contacting foodora and couldn't get hold of anyway so we rang Figo who explained the food was ready but foodora hadn't arrived to pick it up. 10 mins later the food is at our door! Figo had only gone and delivered it themselves (but didn't tell us it was them). The difference a wood fired oven and the best, freshest produce makes is definitely noticeable here. With a wine and beer menu, and different offerings of vodka, as well as live entertainment on weekends, Renix is definitely my most favourite and authentic Italian restaurant in all of Melbourne! We stumbled across Massive Wieners 25 inch hotdog challenge - so we went to give it a go! The venue is easily accessible via public transport, with tram stops and Prahran train station nearby. It is a cute venue set up like an old American-style hotdog place. We found it entertaining to browse around at all the photos of people that have tried the challenge on the walls. Both staff members we dealt with on were extremely friendly, particularly the owner. He was very sociable and made the whole experience better. They also have vegetarian/vegan options so everyone can have a try! The hotdog really was HUGE! We thought it was pretty great value, as it was only $15.00 - with the allowance of two condiments and unlimited water. The hotdog was really tasty, and had a really nice flavour. There was a very generous amount of sauce, which is definitely needed to complete the challenge successfully! The bun was nice too, but unfortunately both of us succumb to the sheer size of the hotdog - meaning we landed a spot on the 'Did not finish' wall.
