After a year and 8 months in Greville street, the guys have packed up and moved down the road to Chapel. In their own words 'Its time to get serious on Chaps' - the guys have some new recipes in store for us Wiener addicts! You really can't go wrong by indulging in a wiener from Massive Wieners, fresh ingredients and value for money. You can still get your faves like the chilli dog, I tend to lean toward the pickle with bacon. If you haven't tried a wiener yet, its time to get on board and do yourself a favour! You really have no excuse now they are on Chaps!

Average Joe 6" hot dog with pickles and a massive serving of Disco Fries. $17

I've driven past this place a few times over the past month and for some silly reason thought it might be a cool place for a date - it's not. Luckily my first experience here was at 3am with a handful of semi-sober girlfriends who were much more interested in getting as many disco fries in their mouths as possible. Ordered the Average Joe with pickle: it was quite good but the wiener itself was a bit too 'hot dog water' flavoured. Cheap white bread buns are both terrible for you and terribly delicious and the perfect complement to the condiments (which themselves were plentiful and tasty). The disco fries were the real winner here: thin-cut fries with cheese that made my lactose intolerant body hate me about an hour later (lol I wanted to go on a date here) smothered in onion and delicious salty black gravy. It tasted almost like my childhood (minus the wine aftertaste of course). I knocked off a star because the hero should be the dog but it was the fries instead. Great snacking for 3am, although the line is a killer and you'll leave smelling like deep-fried potato grease and the tears of your career that left you serving hotdogs to drunk people in the wee hours of the morning.

Fantastic hot dogs. I have tried the meat and vegan options and both are great. I like the spicy weiner, with jalapeños and some extra cheese. Friendly staff, affordable and delicious food, what more could you want.

I love this place and have been going since it was a tiny shop on greville. I'm yet to try the massive but what I've had is always excellent.

Great food and shakes, especially the disco fries! Good service and prices are reasonable. Perfect for a quick lunch or after a night out.

Being in the heart of all the action, you would think this place would be on top of things, yet…read moreevery time I go there I end up disappointed. My two most recent dealings have been within the past two weeks where, in the drive thru I had to repeat myself 3 times quite clearly and then once at the window, get my drinks, then the gentleman looked at me like an idiot cause I was still there. I finally commented that my food was still missing and he realised he had forgot to give it to me. The second time, I ordered two burgers and two coffee, got my burgers instantly and then got my coffees about 15 minutes later when my food was cold. You'd think they would attempt to employee staff more competent to get the job done but it seems that regardless of the time of year, they lack everything in customer service.

I'm not a huge fan of this particular branch of McDonald's…read more Pros: ~ Quick service. But then again, that's pretty much what McDonald's is. ~ Cheap. But then again, that's pretty much what McDonald's is. Cons: ~ It's always massively crowded because it's in such a central location in St Kilda. You'll probably have a tough time finding a seat. ~ It's a bit messy because people are always coming and going. Expect to need to clean your own table before sitting down. Overall, this McDonald's isn't terrible. The food is standard and it's in a convenient location. However, if you want to skip the lines, the messiness, and the stress of squeezing in between everyone, skip over this spot.

We went there last night for a VIP tasting event. This is by far their biggest and most accommodating store in terms of seating space so it's very convenient if you're hanging out with mates as you can grab a seat and eat in. I also like the layout, with a mix of couch/table and low tables/chairs. On the menu, we had about 4 types of fries and they were all very nice especially with your preferred matching sauce. The chunky fries works well with the Belgian and London sauce I found while the sweet potato, dipped in the Belgian sauce, is pretty good. An upcoming addition to the menu 'The Shanghai Sauce' I think? has a good blend of flavours but I found it to be too runny. The chilli dog was good and reminded me a bit of the one I had in LA at Carney's. Out of the burgers, the tropical Parma burger (minus pineapple for me) was one of the best I had on the night. Another upcoming addition 'Rekha's burger' was quite nice. One of the things that separates lord of the fries I guess from other burger joints is their broader vegan options. Their sauces are also pretty good and they have quite a few of them so that keeps things interesting. It might not become your preferred place to grab this abso-freaking-lutely amazing thing that we call a burger but it's they definitely deserve a look-in ah least.
