I always try and repair or replace things with the original components installed at the factory, unless I find a better solution or if the components installed by the OEM continues to fail - I definitely don't want a hodgepodge of parts installed across like storage compartments in my RV so I usually spend as much time that's required looking for the correct part and that's the case here. These sturdy and durable ABS RV drawer latches and catches are built for the RV industry, although they are lightweight they do perform well and may not last forever but they are reasonably priced and easy to change out when they do reach the end of their life or abused by the heavy handed domestic operator. If you do go with this option don't forget to register the products online to extend the warranty...

After belatedly being informed by an outdoor staff member that they were closing in a few minutes, we approached the front door promising we would be quick. An unkind staff member, not dissimilar to the gate keeper of Oz, peaked out of the closed door and basically told us to go away. She went on to complain that it was "people like you" who don't understand they have places to be. I am not sure if this was a swipe at out-of-towners (I am not) but either way, while the concept of Turned Antiques is nice, it is not unique, and the potential unpleasant reception not worth the drive out.
